The purpose of this study to investigate the bond strength of recycled coarse aggregate concrete deteriorated by freezing and thawing. Concrete specimens with recycled coarse aggregate representing lower limit of the quality standard (water absorption : 3.0%, specific gravity : $2.5g.cm^3$) were manufactured and tested. The replacement ratio (0, 30, 60 and 100%) of recycled coarse aggregate and freezing-thawing cycles were considered in this test. From the test results, it was found that the bond strength of normal strength concrete is not affected by the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate under freezing and thawing conditions. Also, the bond strength of the natural and recycled coarse aggregate concrete using AE admixtures was not decreased by frost action.

The properties of recycled fine aggregates which had different source concrete were examined by mortar test. With higher strength of source concrete, specific gravity of recycled fine aggregate was higher and absorption of recycled fine aggregate was lower due to reduction of the volume of adhered cement paste. The compressive strength and flexible strength of mortar with recycled fine aggregate were affected by the interface boundary of new mortar and the strength of adhered mortar. Strength development of mortar with recycled fine aggregate reduced because recycled fine aggregate become a porous material with the smaller strength of source concrete. The drying shrinkage of mortar was about$800{\sim}2000{\mu}m/m$. It was about 1.5 times than that of mortar with natural fine aggregate. Relative dynamic modulus of elasticity was a similar level with that of mortar with natural fine aggregate.

The volume of construction waste material from the entire waste material volume in Korea is approximately 47.3% to take the biggest ratio, and from them, the waste concrete takes up approximately 62.8% that recycling is an urgent issue to address. Therefore, the government recommends more diverse and broader facilitation of the recycled aggregate in order to promote recycling the construction waste materials. In addition, when using concrete recycled aggregate in building, building standard such as floor area ratio and building height are being mitigation. The standard is a condition that mitigation the floor area ratio by up to 15% when using up to 25% of concrete recycled aggregate. Therefore, this study reviewed the relaxation of construction of construction standards when using concrete recycled aggregate in order to actively recommend the use of concrete recycled aggregate. And using the recycled coarse aggregate among the recycled aggregate, the appropriate mixing time in the batch plant according to the substitution rate was derived. In addition, using recycled aggregate admixture in order to improve the drying shrinkage, did comparative analysis about physical and mechanical property of concrete.

Using the recycled aggregate can reduces the landfill space, the demand for natural raw material for new construction. Some investigations have been carried out to study the shear behaviors of RC beams with recycled aggregates. But these have some limitation due to the use of low quality recycled aggregates and small-scale specimens in the laboratory. In this study, four full-scaled RC beams were tested to evaluate the effects of replacement level (0,30, 60, and 100%) of recycled fine aggregate on shear behavior of RC beams. The results showed that the beams with recycled fine aggregates show similar crack pattern and failure mode compared with the beam with natural aggregate. Also, the beams with recycled fine aggregates present the similar shear strength except the one with the replacement level of 100% recycled fine aggregates. Shear strength were compared with the provisions in current code (KCI2007) and the equation proposed by Zsutty. The KCI equations were conservative and subsequently can be used for the shear design of recycled aggregate concrete beam.
These days the amount of demolished concrete waste has been increasing due to reconstruction and redevelopment of aged buildings. So the use of recycled aggregates is recommended to solve environmental problems. Some investigations have been carried out to study the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beams with recycled aggregates. But these have some limitation due to the use of low quality recycled aggregates and small-scale specimens in the laboratory. The purpose of this experimental study is to evaluate the flexural behavior of simply supported RC beams subjected to four-point monotonic loading and made with recycled aggregates. Seven full-scale RC beams were manufactured with different replacement level of recycled aggregates. The main parameters of the study are combination of aggregates. From the test results, the flexural behavior of the beam is described in terms of crack patterns and failure modes. And the flexural strength of RC beam with different types of recycled coarse aggregates and recycled fine aggregates is compared with the provision of KCI code.

Recycled fine aggregate has low quality because it contains large amount of old mortar. So, its usage is limited to a lower value-add, such as the roadbed material etc. Also, alkaline water occurred from treatment process of the waste concrete is becoming the cause of environmental problem. Accordingly, this study is to develop on the high quality recycled fine aggregate produced by low speed wet abraser using sulphuric. We investigated the properties of compressive strength of the mortar which was manufactured using recycled fine aggregate containing calcined gypsum produced by earlier mentioned process. Test results indicate that concrete using recycled fine aggregate containing calcined gypsum is higher compressive strength than concrete using other sands.

Many researches have been conducted to utilize recycled aggregates in Korea, but since most sources of recycled aggregates are not clear, there is a lot of uncertainty in applying the existing research results on recycle of aggregates generated from nuclear power plants. In this study, therefore, in order to investigate the possibility of recycling coarse aggregates generated through dismantling of nuclear power plants in Korea, recycled coarse aggregates were produced from concrete simulating nuclear power plants in Korea. Using the recycled coarse aggregates, concrete was mixed in consideration of the mixing ratio of the recycled coarse aggregates, and the mechanical properties were experimentally investigated. From the test results, as the mixing ratio of recycled coarse aggregates increased. concrete compressive strength, tensile strength, and elastic modulus generally decreased up to 36, 37, and 27% from the mechanical properties of normal concrete, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that limitation on the mixing ratio of recycled coarse aggregates is necessary when coarse aggregates are recycled through dismantling of nuclear power plants.

Recently, the recycling and reusing of construction and demolition waste concrete is urgently required because generation quantity of construction and demolition waste concrete is greatly increased according to the rapid increasing of urban redevelopment project. On the other hand, the problem solution for demand and supply unbalance of fine aggregate is urgently required because of the restriction of collecting sea fine aggregate by intensification of environment influence evaluation and the shortage of river fine aggregate. but a quality of aggregate as building structure is not demonstrated. Therefore it is the objective of this study to estimate plastic and early dry shrink crack of fiber reinforced concrete using a recycled aggregate by plat-ring test and mock-up test of exposure to the air. as a result, in case of plat- ring test, developing crack is wider using recycled aggregate concrete than natural aggregate concrete, is wider using fiber reinforced concrete than non fiber. in case of mock-up test of exposure to the air, it is similar to plat-ring test.

Recently, the study is progressing actively about manufacture skill of concrete for promoted recycled aggregate and concrete made into recycled aggregate in the construction production field. But, application and study about recycled fine aggregate insufficient compared to recycled coarse aggregate. So, in this study, it presents basic data for development of environmental load reduction fiber reinforcement recycled fine aggregate concrete by comparison and investigation about engineering properties and shrinkage cracking of fiber reinforcement recycled find aggregate concrete for increasing shrinkage cracking reduction and long term stability of environmental load reduction concrete used recycled fine aggregate. In the result of the study, compared to natural fine aggregate, a crack-extent increased by applying recycled fine aggregate, moreover, as a water cement ratio increased, the crack size increased, as well. In addition, it's shown that the specimen mixed with PVA and Nylon, among all kinds of fibers, showed the smallest crack size, so it's verified that the mix of fiber had an effect on decreasing crack-extent.

In this study, in order to minimize the increase in the amount of various industrial by-products due to the rapid growth of the industry and the intensification of the depletion of natural aggregate resources, the material test using recycled aggregate and steelmaking slag and the proper mixing ratio of recycled concrete were to be derived. In this study, first, the conformity of the quality standards of the materials used in the field was confirmed, and the workability and molding results were shown when used alone or mixed. Therefore, the feasibility of application as aggregate for concrete was evaluated through a total of 4-type mixtures of cement types, admixtures, coarse aggregates, and fine aggregates. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the slump of unhardened concrete, the amount of air, chloride and compressive strength of hardened concrete according to the replacement rate were different from the measured values of general concrete quality characteristics. According to this, it was confirmed that the quality characteristics of the standard design criteria were satisfied.
