도시를 온통 콘크리트로 막고 덮던 개발 전성시대의 전환점에서, 우리는 생태 도시환경의 질적 가치에 대해 생각해야 하는 새로운 시대를 맞이하고 있다. 성장과 개발이 곧 행복의 보증수표임을 믿고 달려온 어느 지점에서 그 신기루를 허무하게 체험하며, 유토피아는 현실의 환경 가운데에서만 창조될 수 있음을 고통스럽게 인식하게 된 것이다. 그렇게 개발독재 시대에 복개되었던 청계천과 고가도로는 이 시대의 새로운 화두로 등장하게 되었다. 시민단체를 중심으로 일던 청계천 복원운동은 급기야 서울시장 선거의 첫 번째 정책공방거리로 부상하고, 건설인 출신의 시장 당선과 더불어 2005년을 목표로 일사 천리한 건설을 예정하고 있다. 그러나 일각에서는 걱정의 소리도 만만치 않다. 이미 여러차례에 걸쳐 지적된 기술적, 경제적 문제들 외에도, 이 시대 도시환경의 새로운 패러다임을 짜게 될 사업이기에 심사숙고를 필요로 한다는 것이다. 이러한 여론과는 아랑곳 않고, 서울시는 사뭇 독선적이고 저돌적인 추진을 진행시키고 있다. 과연 청계천 복원사업은 어떻게 이루어져야 하는가? 비록 역사와 문화를 달리하지만, 1970년대에 있었던 프랑스 파리의 레알(Les Halles) 시장 재개발 사업은 우리의 작금의 현실과 관련하여 여러 가지 면에서 공통점을 공유하고 있으며, 교훈으로 삼기에 시사하는 바가 크다.

This paper introduces deliberative behavior tree using utility theory. The proposed approach combine the strengths of behavior trees and utility theory to implement complex behavior of AI agents in an easier and more concise way. To achieve this goal, we devised and implemented three types of additional behavior tree nodes, which evaluate utility values of its own node or its subtree while traversing and selecting its child nodes based on the evaluated values. In order to validate our approach, we implemented a sample scenario using conventional behavior tree and our proposed deliberative tree respectively. And then we compared and analyzed the simulation results.

Subjective touch sensation for Korean traditional silk fabrics was evaluated, in order to compare tactile sensory aspects of Korean and American subjects and to determine mechanical properties of the fabrics affecting the sensation psychophysically. Eight aspects of touch sensation including hardness, smoothness, coarseness, coolness, pliability, crispness, heaviness, and thickness were rated by semantic deferential scale. The mechanical properties of fabrics were measured by Kawabata Evaluation System (KES). Both of Koreans and Americans showed fairly similarities to each other in subjective smoothness, coarseness, and crispness. On the contrary, as for coolness and pliability, Koreans were found as feeling the silk fabrics more sensitively than Americans were in that they rated some of modified leno fabrics as very cool and stiff in touch. Coolness and pliability by Koreans were affected mainly by surface and bending properties while those by Americans were determined mostly by compressional and tensile characteristics as well as sulfate properties

This research aims to find out what pre-service teachers are seriously concerned about and what they contemplated during the process of discovering the meanings of teaching, and to reveal the meanings compiled by the pre-service teachers. Furthermore, this research intends to identify the elements considered to help the pre-service teachers continue to construct the meanings of teaching in the education for pre-service daycare teachers by reviewing the process of contemplation. To do so, this study selected a target group of 29 seniors of M University who took the class of 'Teaching Method for Young children' given in the first semester of 2012 and 'Child Care and teaching Practice' given in the second semester of 2012. Research data collection was done based on the paper materials on participant observation, interview, student journals and professor feedbacks and small group discussion. According to the research, the pre-service teachers created the meanings of teaching as they experience confusion between one extreme to another of power and looking easy, having children focused and being focused, just giving and leaving and discrimination and equality. They considered teaching as a process of continuous reconstruction by choosing the best place between the opposites within the context of teaching and understood that teaching is to respect the right of learning for children and at the same time to make efforts to develop inner-self. In addition, to support the pre-service daycare teachers in their efforts to find the nature of teaching in the education program, it is required to review the teaching process from a variety of aspects in the atmosphere where they are not afraid of confusion, and to provide time to meditate alone and share ideas with others.

This study examined the involuntary retirement of executives in conglomerates based on Williams' need-threat temporal model of ostracism(2009), which explains the psychology of individuals facing social exclusion in the stages of reflexive, reflective and resignation. In-depth interviews were conducted on 15 retirees from conglomerates, and their contents were used for phenomenological method of analysis. As a result, in the reflexive stage of need-threat temporal model of ostracism, they experienced cognitive panic and emotional panic immediately following retirement. Due to an unexpected shocking experience of retirement notice, they experienced cognitive numbness first, and repressed the following negative feelings cognitively to hide them. In the reflective stage, retirees dream of 'a complete restoration to their best performance in the past', but as such expectation fails, they don't adjust to the reality more due to 'unrealistic thought', 'self-deception', and 'shift responsibility'. In resignation stage, a long-term failure to satisfy the desire led them to experience a sense of defeat and helplessness. Such results were reviewed and compared to Williams' need-threat temporal model of ostracism, and the implications of such result on the nation, companies and retirees in terms of the response to retirement.

This study was on autobiographical traditions, in particular, autobiographies of teachers. First, autobiographical method was suggested as a kind of qualitative inquiry on the teaching mathematics. Second, as a case of autobiographical method, autobiographies of an elementary school teacher were presented. In the case, the author of autobiographies was also a researcher. It showed the struggles of elementary school teacher to know and to practice her teaching mathematical patterns. Autobiographies of teachers can be used as good sources for reflection of teachers, and also as a method for teachers education. And then, for communicating with teaching strategies among teachers in communities, they can be used. One the other hand, autobiographies of teachers can be powerful materials for researches on teaching.

Coccidiosis is caused by Eimeria infecting primarily the intestine of the susceptible host, thereby seriously impairing the growth and feed utilization of livestock and poultry. The genus Eimeria contains a number of obligate intracellular protozoan parasites with a complicated life-cycle involving both asexual and sexual stages of development. The desire to develop a vaccine against Eimeria has Promoted active research to elucidate the mechanisms of protective immunity and identification of candidate vaccine antigens. Protozoa are unique in their modes of transmission and nature of disease manifestations, the significance of which should be considered in the development of a control strategy. An intricate and complex interplay of different cell populations and cytokines is involved not only in the pathogenesis of coccidiosis but also in the development of protective immunity Thus, comprehensive understanding of the events leading to protection following Eimeria infection will be crucial for the development of an effective vaccine.

This paper analyzes the activities and recommendations of W3C LLD Incubator group and investigates the benefits of Library Link Data through case studies. It also discusses the necessary global identification systems for developing useful LLD as well as the problems associated with linking available vocabularies with existing data sets. Ways to apply RDF, SKOS, Microformats, and RDFa to LLD are presented. the many challenges related to establishing LLD-based information services and the various barriers that prevent libraries from accepting LLD are also identified. Finally this paper presents a new LLD-based digital information system and provides some recommendations on how to promote and expand LLD in Korea.

The role of the department of statistics in Korea is discussed. There are more than 70 statistics departments in the universities throughout the country. However, we can hardly find that statisticians and statistical service organizations who are responsible for, for example, identifying the statistical services needed by clients in our society. In developed countries, statistics is now widely employed in all areas of societies including industry and government. Statistics and statisticians also have vital internal roles in production, research, marketing, and support functions of the modern corporation as stated by Marquardt(1987). Professors in the department of statistics are responsible for solving the problems with the discipline of statistics and with statisticians. In this article some of those problems are explored.

Analysis method for mechanism has been fully developed and relatively easy work compared to mechanism synthesis. Developing or creating a new mechanism for a given task is a creative job. In this case, a few theories are developed such as type synthesis. However, these methods are not sufficient for mechanism designers to sufficientely take into account alternative mechanism models during the initial phase of the mechanism design process. This paper presents the configuration design of mechanisms using graphical representation in the conceptual design stage. In this stage of kinematic synthesis, one needs to select mechanisms and configure appropriately to realize the desired motion of a machine. Graphical representation of mechanisms is proposed in this paper to help a designer to be highly creative and efficient in the initial design process. It is possible to easily design and analyze the mechanism of a machine by using this method.
