A Study on the Quality Improvement of Secondary Treatment Effluent Utilize the Natural Purification Method (자연정화공법을 이용한 2차 하수처리수의 수질 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed for the application of porous concrete blocks and aquatic plants for the water purification in small urban stream. This study investigated the ability of water purification according to various environments, algae and aquatic plants. When the porous concrete was used as contact media, the average removal efficiencies of SS, BOD and COD were 85~95%, 50~60% and 65~75%, respectively. Also, when the porous concrete and aquatic plants was used the average removal efficiency of SS, BOD and COD were 90~95%, 60~70% and 70~80%, respectively. As the results, average removal efficiency of total nitrogen, at the condition of the porous concrete and aquatic plants, was about 40-50%, then, that of total phosphorus was about 60-70%.

  • 인공적으로 조성한 저수지의 대부분은 유역면적이 넓고 집중강우로 인하여 매년 입자성 물질이 상당량 유입하는 편이며 이들의 장기간 축적으로 인하여 저수지 용량을 줄이고 수질관리에 어려움을 야기 시킨다. 따라서 이들에 대한 정화한 예측이 필요한 실정이지만 지표에서의 침식현상은 토양조건, 피복조건, 그리고 지형조건 등의 복합적 요소에 의하여 지배되기 때문에 정확한 유입량을 산정하기에 많은 어려움이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 높은 정확도를 갖는 LiDAR(Light Detection and Ranging)기술을 이용하여 DEM, DSM을 제작하고 반사강도 데이터로부터 물질적 특성을 분류하여 연구지역내 범용토양유실공식(USLE; Universal Soil Loss Equation)에 의한 유입퇴적량을 산정하였다. 또한 이들 분포를 기준으로 퇴적물의 유입 가능성이 큰 위치를 파악하였으며 지형특성에 따른 퇴적물의 유입경로를 분석하였다.

Studies on the Contamination Degree of Effluent from the Sewage Purification System and Septic Tank (오수정화시설 및 정화조 방류수의 수질오염도에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to investigate the contamination degree of effluent from the sewage purification system and septic tank. The 711 samples, were collected from the large size tank located in Seoul from Mar. to June 1991. The results were as follows 1. The pH values of effluent were largely neutral of 6.96 in sewage and 7.43 in septic tank. 2. The average concentration of BOD was 48.18 mg/l in sewage and 127.0 rng/l in septic tank. 3. The average concentration of SS was 40.8mg/l in sewage and 90.5rng/l in septic tank. 4. In the analysis of nutrient salts, the average concentration of NH$_{3}$-N was 31.62mg/l in sewage and 88.79 mg/l in septic tank. 5. In the analysis of correlation among items, BOD, SS, NH$_{3}$-N and PO$_{4}$-P were higly correlated beween items. 6. As a results of above analysis, it is considered as desirable evaluation method of effluent not through the only item but through the integrated items.

Development of Depot Encircled with Oxidation Canal for Water Quality Improvement (수질 개선을 위한 침전산화수로 개발)

  • A depot encircled with contact oxidation canal has been developed to improve water qualityr. The depot is aimed to settle suspended solid in the flow. The oxidation canal is to contact the pollutants and oxygen in the surface of gravel filter to purify the water. The deposit of the pollutant in the depot is released by the drainage culvert located at the bottom of it. Aeration nozzle is installed to supply enough oxygen to the gravel filter layers in the bottom of the detent the flow and improve oxidation efficiency. From the experiment it is founded that 91% of SS, 39% of TN, 63% of TP and 77% of COD were removed in the system. The treatment efficiency of total nitrogen is rather lower than any other components, however, it would be higher when some floating vegetation is added in the primary clarifier. The depot and oxidation canal system would be useful to purify the flows in the mouth of the reservoirs or at the outlet of the drainage canal.

  • In this study, the effect of the purification materials is analyzed and tested by Flow 3D and Hydraulic model test. Three dimension numerical analysis led from the research that sees abnormal form and the size back of the water purification material conferred the flowing water conduct inside the test channel against the test condition. Comparison it analyzed the flux distribution, a water depth of the channel which establishes the water purification materials the cross section, an interval of the water purification material, a conference with general channel, it change executed. As a result, the cross section ratio of the purification materials against and a flux change from the test which it sees. The interval of the purification materials in order to prevent three dimension that follows in decrease of increase and flux must decide an interval.

  • 방향족 화합물인 폴리염화비페닐(PCB)은 비페닐 기본골격의 10개소의 탄소에 1개에서부터 10개까지의 염소가 치환되어 있는 물질로써 그 독성과 잔류성으로 인해 중대한 환경오염물질의 하나로 주목받고 있다. 폴리염화비페닐에 의한 환경오염은 수질오염으로 이어지며, 식물연쇄에 의해 어류의 경우 그 농축계수가 10만 정도까지 이른다고 한다. 이러한 현상은 육상에서도 일어나며 생물농축과 식물연쇄에 의해 결국 식품을 오염시키게 된다. 이와 같은 난분해성 오염물질의 정화에는 미생물이 가지고 있는 분해능력이 큰 역할을 담당한다는 것이 알려져 있다. 1970년대 토양으로부터 비페닐을 분해ㆍ이용할 수 있는 비페닐 자화성균이 단리된 이후, 호기적으로 폴리염화비페닐을 분해하는 균을 중심으로 연구가 행해져 왔으며 방향족 화합물에 있어서의 대사 경로 등이 밝혀지게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 폴리염화비페닐을 분해하는 능력을 가지는 분해균을 모델로 하여 다양한 환경하에서 폴리염화비페닐을 분해ㆍ대사 할 수 있는 미생물의 분리를 시도하였다. 그 결과 클로로비페닐 분해능을 가진 Gram 양성균을 단리하는데 성공하였고, 이 균이 Bacillus속의 미생물인 것을 확인하였다.

  • 원자력 발전소 방사선 관리구역 1차 계통수의 수질 정화 후 발생된 고선량 폐필터를 방사능 붕괴 후 잡고체 폐기물로 처리하기 위한 장기저장시설 내 설치 될 설비 임. 동 설비는 자동화공정을 기본으로 한정된 공간에 다량의 폐필터를 가장 효율적으로 저장 할 수 있는 최적의 설비이며, 폐필터 장입, 인출 시 작업시간단축, 작업자 피폭저감, 오염확산 방지는 물론 폐기물을 감용시켜 폐기물처리, 처분 비용 절감에 기여하고자 한다.

Mesh size and Water Velocity for The growth of Filamentous Periphytic Algae (수질 정화를 위한 부착조류의 성장에 적합한 매질과 유속)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate mesh size and water velocity for the growth of filamentous periphytic algae(FPA). The growth experiment was carried out in the constructed pilot waterway system with nutrient-rich treated wastewater. Growth rate of FPA was highest at water velocity about 10 cm/s. The maximum standing crop of FPA was $253\;{\mu}g\;chl.a/cm^{3}$, and an average of the net productivity was $3.92\;mgDW/cm^{2}/day\;or\;25.3\;{\mu}g\;chl.a/cm^{2}/day$. Biomass development and growth rates of FPA were highest at the net with 20mm mesh size during the fall season and 10mm mesh size during the winter season.

Performance of Shi-hwa Constructed Wetland for the treatment of severely polluted stream water (시화호 인공습지를 이용한 오염된 하천의 수질 정화)

  • A prototype of 76 ha Shi-hwa constructed wetland was constructed for the first time in Korea to purify severely polluted stream water. Hydrology, vegetation(macrophyte) and water quality for Banwol and Donghwa wetland built in Shi-hwa tidal reclaimed area were monitored to evaluate the performance of the wetlands. The overall efficiency for the treatment of polluted stream water using the wetlands showed no significant improvement. The monthly average removal rates on SS, BOD, TN and TP for Banwol and Donghwa wetlands showed 66.5% and 62.8%, 14.8 and 34.3%, 33.9 and 47.1% and 20.8 and 51.6%, respectively. It is considered that three major factors, ie. wide fluctuations in inflow rate, short hydraulic retention time and small open area compared with vegetated area could have a great influence on low system efficiency.

낙동강 하류 지역의 장기적 습지 분포 변화 경향에 관한 연구

  • 습지는 지구상에서 가장 생명력이 풍부한 지역이다. 야생 생물들이 서식할 수 있는 생태적 측면, 수질 정화와 홍수조절에 기여하는 수리 및 기후순화적 측면뿐만 아니라 경제적으로도 그 중요성이 매우 높다. 이에 과거 광복이전 낙동강 하류지역의 습지 분포를 조사${\cdot}$연구하여 현재에 비해 90%이상의 습지가 훼손되었음을 알 수 있다. 현재 습지 보전에 관한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있으며 이를 보전하기 위한 일련의 조치들이 취해지고 있다. 본 연구는 향후 낙동강 하류지역의 습지 분포의 장기간 변화 경향을 통해 주변지역의 기후환경적 영향을 평가하는 기초자료로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
