A Study on Modeling Network Market Structure Uuder Imperfect Information Considering Regulation (불완전 정보 하에서 규제를 고려한 네트워크 산업의 시장구조 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • 이 논문은 상류복점, 하류복점의 시장구조에서 네트워크산업의 중요한 특징으로 간주되고 있는 규제와 불완전정보를 고려하여 네트워크산업의 시장구조에 대하여 모델링을 시도한 논문이다. 이 논문에서 고려하고 있는 시장구조는 독립적 소유구조(Independent Ownership), 부분적 수직결합구조(Partial Vertical Integration), 평행적 수직결합구조(Parallel Vertical Integration)로서 각 시장구조별로 가격, 공급량, 이윤, 불완전 정보로 발생하는 오인보고량(Misreport)의 크기를 따져보고 있다. 공급량, 총이윤은 평행적 수직결합구조에서 가장 크게 나타났고 다음 부분적 수직결합구조, 독립적 소유구조의 순서로 나타났다. 가격과 오인보고량의 크기는 독립적 소유구조에서 가장 높게 나타났으며 다음 부분적 수직결합구조, 독립적 소유구조 순으로 나타났다. 또한 이 논문에서는 규제와 다른 변수와의 관계를 고려하고 있는데, 규제당국의 규제능력이 향상할수록 서비스의 가격과 오인보고량의 크기가 떨어지고 망소유 기업의 이윤이 감소하는 것으로 나타났지만 총 공급량과 서비스만 제공하는 기업의 이윤은 오히려 증가하고 있음을 보여주었다. 한편, 규제와 다른 기업의 보완전 구성요소의 사용량의 관계에 있어서는 규제당국의 규제수준이 일정수준 이상이 되면 부분적 수직결함구조와 평행적 수직결합구조에서 보완적 구성요소의 사용이 이루어지고 규제수준이 향상될수록 이 사용량 증가하고 있음을 보여주고 있는데 이는 이 논문만의 독특한 결론이라고 볼 수 있다.

The Directional Coupler Using the Vertical Coupling Structure (수직 결합 구조를 이용한 방향성 결합기)

  • In this paper, the directional coupler with half-power division is designed and fabricated by using the vertical coupling structure based on the CPW transmission-line. Even-mode and odd-mode of the vertical coupling structure can be analyzed by the conventional CPW-line and the CBCPW-line, respectively, with half thickness of the substrate. The directional coupler is designed by using the tefron substrate with the dielectric constant of 2.55 and the thickness of 0.76mm. Manufactured directional coupler has the center frequency of 2.45 GHz and the bandwidth of 66.1%. Also, the return loss and isolation are 19.52dB and 19.47dB, respectively, at the center frequency.

Effect of wing width and thickness on the polarization characteristics of vertical directional couplers using the Double-Sided Deep-Ridge waveguide structure (Double-Sided Deep-Ridge 도파관 구조 수직 방향성 결합기의 날개구조부 폭과 두께가 편광 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • We investigate the effect of the wing width and thickness of a Double-Sided Deep-Ridge(DSDR) vertical directional coupler on the coupling length dependent on the polarization, We have found that the DSDR vertical directional coupler without a wing does not have polarization independent coupling lengths. The variation of the coupling length of TE and TM modes and the difference between the coupling lengths of the two modes are negligible as the wing width increases beyond the specific wing width for the same wing thickness. Thus, we can see that a DSDR vertical directional coupler has a wing width larger than the minimum wing width to obtain the polarization independent coupling length. The minimum wing width increases as the wing thickness increases for the same core thickness and as the core thickness decreases for the same wing width. Also, we have found that the minimum wing thickness is determined by the core thickness and the minimum wing thickness decreases as the core thickness increases.

  • 집적광학 회로의 구성요소 중 광 결합기는 파장에 따른 채널간 결합기로써 WDM은 물론 광 스위칭 소자로서 매우 중요한 위치에 있다. 더우기 수직형의 구조를 갖는 광결합기가 새로이 제안되면서 결합 길이를 줄여 전체 소자길이를 감소시킴으로써 고집적화는 물론, 도파로를 진행하는 동안 겪게되는 도파 손실을 최소화하려는 움직임 또한 활발하다. 그러나 이들 수직형 광결합기는 결합효율을 높이기 위하여 대부분 상 하부 도파로의 구조가 동일한 대칭형으로 제작됨에 따라, 이들은 매우 까다롭고 복잡한 공정을 갖게된다. 또한 이러한 공정의 복잡성과 두 도파로의 대칭성을 위한 반복작업은 오히려 제작공정의 불완전함으로 인하여 이론상의 이상적 결합에 비하여 효율이나 성능 면에서 상당한 저하를 가져오게 된다. 최근 연구되고있는 대부분의 폴리머를 이용한 광 결합기 역시 대칭형 구조를 가지며 $O_2$ RIE(Reactive ion etching) 건식 식각법으로 제작된다.$^{[1]}$ (중략)

Coupling variation induced side-lobe suppressed narrowband vertical coupler wavelength filter (광결합 변화에 의해 부모드 억제된 협대역 수직 결합기 파장 여과기)

  • A novel narrowband wavelength bandpass filter with a large side-lobe suppression was proposed in vertical coupler structure using coupling variation in propagation direction. Combination of a half sinusoidal distributed and a slow coupling schmes was used for narrow bandwidth and small side-lobes. Simulation showed 1.5 nm passband at 1.5507 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and the side-lobes were suppressed more than 20 dB which is two times larger than that of a constant coupling filter. A monolithic two-channel wavelength demultiplexer was proposed and theoretically investigated.

  • Firms or internal exchanges exist to eliminate or at least reduce transaction costs from the separating process in many firms by dealing more efficiently with bounded rationality, complexity, and tendency towards opportunism faced by the markets so that vertical integration is supposed to have a positive relationship with performance. The organizational structure of Korean economy in the latter part of the $20^{th}$ century is much related with this transaction costs' view. I propose to estimate the effect of vertical integration on the firm's performance using the data of the Korean listed corporations from 1991 to 1995, therefore. The estimated results show that vertical integration at firm level is negatively and significantly related with the firm's performance: the higher level of vertical integration the worse performance. However, the group level integration is not related with performance at all.

  • The current distribution structure in Korea film industry is in the multiplex chain. As a result, most small or medium-sized theaters have been excluded from the market, and all the multiplex chain have gradually been formed into the vertical integration structure. The strike by multiplex theaters in Chuncheon who did not screen for one month led to the problem of the vertical integration, which resulted in many effects. Particularly, it caused considerable effect on the cultural desire and instigated movie-goers to turn to illegal content. This study surveys the process in which Korean multiplex theaters in vertical integration structure took over the Korean film market, and consequently, small theaters collapsed, and the theaters in vertical integration structure kick out small theaters in horizontal integration structure, and conducts a survey on the effect of the one-month strike by Chuncheon CGV from September 27 to October 30, 2008 in Chuncheon where said processes had completed so as to determine the effect of and impact of the problem of the vertical integration, monopoly structure. When major consumers of the film industry, i.e., people in their 20s, see their access to newly released films limited due to closing of multiplex theaters, they feel the impulse to access illegal contents. If they miss viewing the newly released films, they prefer to view illegal contents or films on recording media rather than visiting theaters showing those films. They are also influenced by timing of film release. Specifically, methods of illegal access to newly released films, permanent accessibility to them via recording media, and timing of film release influence their viewing patterns.

  • In this paper, the microstrip $90^{\circ}$ hybrid to provide -3dB coupling and $90^{\circ}$ phase difference at broadband frequency range of 2 to 6 GHz is designed. This proposed hybrid is composed of 3-section. The two outside section are realized by symmetrical edge coupled lines, but on the other hand the middle section consists of VIP(Vertically Installed Planar) circuit. The ground part of VIP circuit is partially removed to get tight coupling, particularly. This hybrid is easy to realize due to microstrip structure and has good holing flexibility by taking advantage of VIP circuit as a control point of optimization. The proposed hybrid provide satisfactory performance as compared with simplicity of structure and fabrication first of all.

  • We propose a novel vertical directional coupler switch using a vertical directional coupler with polarization independent coupling lengths employing the doublesided deep-ridge waveguide structure. This switch is composed of a switching operation induced section with symmetric structures and an extinction ratio enhanced section with asymmetric structures. We present design methods and examples for this switch with very short lengths and very high extinction ratios larger than 30 dB for both TE and TM modes in cases of both cross and bar states.

  • We propose a novel vertical directional coupler with polarization independent very short coupling lengths using the double-sided deep-ridge waveguide structure which could be implemented using double-sided process to polarization insensitive deep-ridge waveguide structures and investigate the effect of various structure parameters on the coupling length. Variation of coupling length for the variation of the waveguide width is smaller than that for the variation of the core thickness. Coupling length decreases as the inner cladding layer thickness and the core thickness decrease. The waveguide width with the polarization independent coupling length decreases as the inner cladding layer thickness decreases for the same core thickness and the core thickness decreases for the same inner cladding layer thickness.
