Preparation of Glycidylmethacrylate-Divinylbenzene Copolymers Containing Phosphoric Acid Groups and Their Adsorption Characteristics of Uranium(II) - Adsorption Equilibrium and Kinetics of Uranium on RGP Resins - (인산기를 함유한 Glycidylmethacrylate-Divinylbenzene 공중합체의 제조와 우라늄 흡착특성(제2보) - RGP수지에 대한 우라늄의 흡착평형과 흡착속도 -)

  • In this work, we studied the equilibrium, rate and rate determining step of uranium adsorption on RGP resins of MR type prepared by varying the degree of crosslinking and the amount of diluent. The equilibrium of uranium adsorption on RGP resins were well explained by Frendrich isotherm as well as Langmuir isotherm model. The amount of adsorption and adsorption rate increase with the adsorption temperature. The heat of the adsorption was 11 kcal/mol. The adsorption rates of uranium on RGP resins were decreased in the order of RGP-10(50)>RGP-1(50)>RGP-2(50)>RGP-5(50)>RGP-0(50) and RGP-2(75)>RGP-2(100)>RGP-2(50)>RGP-2(30)>RGP-2(0). The diffusion resistance of uranium into RGP resin increased as follows; molecular diffusion < pore diffusion < surface diffusion. On the other hand, the surface diffusion was more dominative than the pore diffusion in intraparticle region. Thus, this result indicates that the adsorption mechanism of uranium on RGP resins is intraparticle diffusion controlled.

아연을 코팅한 테프론 기판 위에 성장된 산화아연 박막의 후열처리 효과

  • 산화아연 박막은 아연이 코팅된 테프론 기판 위에 졸-겔 스핀코팅 방법을 이용하여 각기 다른 후열처리 온도에서 제작되었다. 산화아연 박막의 후열처리 온도에 따른 구조적, 광학적 특성은 field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffractometer, and photoluminescence spectroscope를 이용하여 분석하였다. 후열처리 온도를 달리하여 성장한 모든 산화아연 박막은 수지상(dendrite) 구조를 가지고 있으며, 이 수지상 구조 위에 약 20 nm의 산화아연 입자들이 성장되었다. 후열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 c-축 배향성이 우세하게 나타났으며, 인장응력도 증가하였다. 후열처리 온도 $400^{\circ}C$에서 Near-band-edge emission (NBE) 피크는 적색편이(red-shift) 하였고, 후열처리 온도가 증가함에 따라 deep-level emission (DLE) 피크의 세기는 감소하였다. 또한 $400^{\circ}C$의 후열처리 온도에서 NBE 피크의 반치폭(FWHM)이 가장 작았으며, INBE/IDLE의 비율이 가장 높았다. 따라서 $400^{\circ}C$의 후열처리 공정에 의해 결정성 및 광학적 특성이 가장 우수한 산화아연 박막을 얻을 수 있었다.

Properties of Woodceramics Made from MDF (MDF로 제조된 우드세라믹의 성질)

  • Woodceramics are new porous carbon materials obtained by burning wood or woody materials impregnated with thermosetting resin in a vacuum furnace. In this paper, the change of dimensions and bending strength of woodceramics which were made from medium density fiberboard have been investigated to examination the possibility of utilization as a woodceramics materials. 1) An increasing rate of dimension in impregnated board increased with increasing resin impregnation rate. And increasing rate of thickness was higher than that of length. 2) When the resin impregnation rate increased, the bending strength of impregnated board had a tendency to increase. 3) The rates of weight loss, length and thickness reduction of woodceramics showed a slight increase with increased burning temperature. 4) The density of woodceramics showed a increase from at 500℃ till at 800℃ with increasing burning temperature but decrease at 1,000℃ 5) When the burning temperature increased, the bending strength of woodceramics had a tendency to increase.

  • In this study, the porosity and electrical resistivity of the formed coke produced by sintering the mixture of domestic anthracite and phenolic resin were mainly investigated, when the effect of the amount of binder, the hydration temperature and time, the hardening temperature and time, sintering temperature and time, the particle size of anthracite, the grade of anthracite, and the mixing ratio of phenolic resin on the physical properties of the coke were studied. As a result, It was found that the electrical resistivity and porosity of the formed coke are varied in the range of $0.3\sim1.2\Omega{\cdot}cm$ of $10\sim30%$, respectively, in accordance with the variation of factors.

  • For new use development of miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens, which investigated properties of ceramics made from different carbonization temperature ($600{\sim}1,200^{\circ}C$) and percentage of resin impregnation(30~60%) using a mincanthus board. As the carbonization temperature increased, the density, thickness shrinkage, linear shrinkage, weight loss were increased. As the percentage of resin impregnation increased, the density, linear shrinkage and weight loss were increased. On the other hand, thickness shrinkage decreased.

  • The effect of petroleum resin as a tackifier for polyalphaolefin (APAO) hot melt adhesive on thermal properties, crystallinity and adhesion strength was investigated. The presence of petroleum resin resulted in the melting temperature decrease in APAO/petroleum blend, especially, in APAO with low ethylene content/C$_{5}$ petroleum blend. It was also found that petroleum resin caused the decrease of crystallinity regardless of ethylene content in APAO. The maximum adhesion strength was found to be at 50/50 (APAO/petroleum) composition. $C_{5}$ resin was more effective to increase adhesion strength than $C_{9}$ for APAO with high ethylene content. In addition, it was found that the adhesion strength was improved with the decrease of crystallinity in APAO/petroleum resin hot melts.

  • PAN-based activated carbon fibers/phenolic resin matrix composites (ACFCs) were manufactured via molding process with oxidized carbon fabrics (plain-type) and phenolic resin (resole-type) compounded by 70 : 30 wt%. The green body (as molded) was submitted to carbonization (at 100$0^{\circ}C$) in an inert environment and activation (at 700, 800, 900 and 100$0^{\circ}C$) in a $CO_2$ environment. In this work, the influence of activation temperatures was investigated in surface properties, such as pH, acid- and base-values by titration method, and in adsorption properties, i.e., specific surface area and pore structures by BET-method of the composites. Also, the pressure drops of the specimens were calibrated by ASTM. As a result, the activation temperature influenced the surface property of ACFCs. When the activation temperature was higher than 90$0^{\circ}C$, the surface was gradually developed in basic nature. And, the evolutions of specific surface area, total pore volume and pore size distribution of ACFCs could be easily confirmed the dependence on the activation temperature. Among them, well-developed pore structure from adsorption characteristics was changed of the ACFCs activated at 90$0^{\circ}C$. Also, the pressure drop was slightly decreased with increasing the temperature due to increasing the burn-off with heat treatment temperature of ACFCs.

  • O/W emulsions were prepared with the phase inversion emulsification methods. The emulsifiers were used the UNIQ-1 (isopropylamine alkyl aryl sulphonate) and UNIQ-2 (alkoxylated glycol ether). Investigated effect that HLB value, agitator velocity and manufacture temperature get in mean particle size of emulsions. Mean particle size receives much effect of HLB value. Also, estimated stability about storage temperature and light. Emulsion's mean particle size was 193 nm lastly, reduced VOC amount used 90% than existing alkyd resin.
