Biogenic monoamines are divided into three categories; catecholamines(dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine), indoleamine(serotonin and melatonin) and histamine. Among them, serotonin has been intensively studied by many researchers with a broad spectrum of biomedical interests. A concise overview of serotonin-related topics such as biosynthetic pathway, receptor subtypes, and roles in reproduction will be provided. In particular, serotonergic efffect on the regulation of hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad hormonal axis and sexual behaviors will be emphasized. Though our Knowledge on the biological roles and its clinical applications are still limited, these topics are quite promising subjects which will be helpful for improving our 'quality of life' in near future.

척추의 기본적인 생체 역학적 기능은 신체 부분간의 운동을 허용하고 척수와 신경근을 보호하는 것으로서 이러한 기능을 수행하기 위해서는 척추의 역학적 안정성이 필수적이다. 척추의 안정체계는 수동적 근 골격계, 능동적 근 골격계, 그리고 신경계의 세 가지 하부체계로 나누어지며 이들 하부체계는 각각 독립적으로 안정성에 관여하고 있다. 경추의 불안정성의 문제는 비정상적으로 증가된 추간관절의 운동에 의해 염증성의 신경을 압박 또는 신장하거나 또는 통증수용기가 많이 분포하는 인대, 관절낭, 섬유륜과 종판에 비정상적인 변형을 일으키는 것을 말한다. 안정성의 장애는 근육의 기능적 측면에서 국소적 안정체계와 포괄적 안정체계의 문제로 구분할 수 있다. 불안정한 경추 환자의 임상적 양상은 일반적으로 머리가 앞으로 나오고 전방 전위된 자세로 견갑대와 승모근 상부의 과활동성을 나타낸다. 또한 능동운동은 감소되지 않으나 수동운동에서 분절의 회전운동과 병진운동의 증가와 종말감의 변화가 있다. 경추의 불안정성을 관리하기 위한 실험적 연구로 전반적인 근육 훈련, 고유수용기 훈련, 그리고 도수치료의 세 가지 주된 접근법이 있고 실제적인 접근법으로는 고유수용성 재활프로그램, 칼텐본-에반스 접근법, 그리고, 슬링운동법 등이 있다. 각 방법들은 임상에서 나름대로의 이점이 있으며 환자의 상태에 따라 이들 방법을 단독으로 또는 병행해서 적용할 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 경추에서 이러한 방법들의 효과를 입증하는 증거는 부족하여 앞으로 이러한 방법에 대한 임상적 경험보다는 그 효과를 입증할 수 있는 연구가 필요하다고 본다.

최근 정보통신 서비스의 제공 영역은 댁내로 그 초점이 맞추어지고 있다. 특히 우리나라 거주 환경은 주로 아파트 등에 의한 공동주택이므로 초고속 정보통신 서비스를 댁내로 효과적으로 유입하려면 이에 적합한 연계 시설이 이루어져야 한다. 최근의 통신기술은 나날이 발전하고 있어 기존의 전화망 설비를 기반으로 하더라도 새로운 네트워크 구성 방식이 요구되고 있기 때문에 댁내(공동주택 구내)의 통신설비 또한 새로운 양상으로 진화되고 있다. 이러한 댁내통신설비의 수용을 위하여는 그 확보 공간과 최적의 운용을 위한 환경이 마련되어야 한다. 본 논문에서 다루고자 하는 내용은 댁내통신설비의 설치 공간과 운용환경 중에서도 특히 운용환경에 대한 것으로서 위와 같은 새로운 초고속통신망 서비스 수용을 원활히 이룰 수 있도록 기존의 열악한 환경을 개선하고 적절한 환경 기준 또는 표준을 마련하기 위하여 댁내통신설비와 관련된 국제표준 중심의 각종 기준들을 분석하고 이에 더하여 실제의 공동주택 현장에서의 실태를 조사 분석하여 그 개선 방안을 절충함으로써 앞으로의 댁내통신설비 기술의 발전 추세에 발맞추고자 한 것이다.

This study aims to examine the representations of elders in reality shows focusing on gender disparity by employing a textual analysis and audience interviews. According to findings, as for elderly men, various images are presented while as for elderly women, traditional gender images are mainly reproduced. In the audience reception, the audiences' understanding of genres and their preexisting gender perceptions have important roles on their interpretations in the ways of producing gender discriminated meanings.

Employing the approach to isolate the genes expressed preferentially in cytolytic T cell (CTL) but not in other types of cell, 3 CTL-specific cDNAs were recently cloned. To characterize these cDNA clones in relation to CTL activation, their expression pattern after T cell antigen receptor (TCR) or interleukin 2 (IL-2) stimulation were investigated by RNA blot analysis of cloned CTL L3 cells. Transcripts level of two cDNA clones were markedly elevated by TCR stimulation but not by IL-2. In addition, transcripts expression of both clones were abrogated by cyclosporin A treatment. These results indicated that gene activation mediated by TCR is distinct from that mediated by IL-2 and imply that those two unidentified cDNA clones are related to TCR-mediated, IL-2-independent but cyclosporin A-sensitive pathway for CTL activation.

Insulin-like growth factors (IGF-1 and IGF-2) play an important regulatory role in premplantation embryonic development. To study the role of IGF-1 during premplantation embryonic development in mouse, the presence of mRNA transcripts for IGF-1 and IGF-lR in the oocytes and preimplantation embryos was examined. In this study, the transcripts of IGF-1 was detected in oocytes using primers for IGF-1. The PCR products were identified by Msp I restriction enzyme digest. We revealed that the transcripts of IGF-1 and IGF-1R were presented in the oocytes and preimplantation embryos. The highest mRNA levels in GV stage oocytes were decreased at 4- or 8-cell stage and then reincreased upto blastocyst. The presence of IGF-1 and IGF-lR in GV-oocytes suggests that the transcripts in the early stage embryos were derived from maternal genome. Additionally, the presence of IGF-1 and IGF-lR in the oocytes and preimplantation embryos suggests that IGF-1 plays an autocrine role during preimplantation embryonic development through IGF-lR as a signalling pathway.

본 연구는 e-Learning이 오프라인 교육으로 대변되는 기존의 전통적인 교육 매체를 대체할 가능성 내지는 오프라인 교육과의 상호 보완적인 역할 가능성에 대해 연구함으로써 e-Learning 산업의구체적인 발전 방향을 찾아보고 이에 따른 향후 성장 가능성을 살펴보기 위하여 , 기존의 전통적인교육 매체 수용자의 특성과는 다른 양상을 나타낼 e-Learning 이용자의 특성에 대해 연구해 보고자한다. 이를 위해 e-Learning을 교육 매체로서 선택하는 대학생들을 대상으로 e-Learning을 이용하는 동기와 e-Learning 이용 행태, 그리고 e-Learning 이용에 따른 만족도를 살펴보고자 한다.

본 연구는 장용학과 손창섭을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 연구된 바 얻어진 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 장용학의 <요한 시집(詩集)>은 '자유'의 의미가 '성실한 삶'으로 이어지는데 이는 싸르트르의 직접적인 영향이 있었던 것으로 보인다. 손창섭의 <미해결의 장>은 '광순'이를 통해 부조리한 현실을 고발한다는 측면에서 까뮈의 영향이 간접적으로 나타난다고 볼 수 있다.

Emulsion products with water soluble protein were exposed under light at $5^{\circ}C$ for 8 days. Peroxide value (POV) was increased significantly at the bigining of storage and 2-thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value also increased until 4 days of storage with increase of the production of carbonyl compounds, suggesting that the condition was reacted different from that of the lipid autoxidation. The reaction was similar to the flavor reversion that usually produced from the bigining of soybean oil oxidation. The reason might be the meat pigment, myoglobin, oxidation and it would be due to the singlet oxygen rather than superoxide anion. When the light was excluded general pattern was similar but the production of oxidation products were smaller than that when the sample was exposed under light. The effect of the singlet oxygen was also smaller which meant that the singlet oxygen produced during emulsion process may affect on the flavor reversion at the bigining of storage. The POV of the emulsion without water soluble protein increase gradually by storage and the results indicated that the degradation rate of the peroxides were lower than the sample with water soluble protein. Especially after 4 days of storage, production of carbonyl compounds were decreased. During storage it would be possible to produce the singlet oxygen and the sensitizer from the plants that can be produced during decoloration of soybean oil may be responsible for it. When the light was excluded the production of oxidation products were reduced at the begining of storage and the effect of quencher also was not detected. Therefore the results indicated that the light can accelerate the lipid oxidation.
