Study on the Chemical Polymerization of Pyrrole in the Presence of Cyclic Poly(oxyethylene)s (환형 폴리옥시에틸렌 존재하의 피롤의 화학적 중합에 관한 연구)

  • Inclusion compounds using cyclic poly(oxyethylene)s as host molecules have been used to polymerize pyrrole chemically in aqueous medium. This general synthetic strategy makes it possible to grow rigid aromatic polymers in aqueous medium by chemical oxidation method. It is an easy method to obtain rigid polymers in a very mild manner. Some threaded and water-soluble polypyrroles are obtained, and their characterization is performed by NMR, IR, UV, and MALDI-TOF MS measurements.

알콜 산화반응에 적합한 HAP를 기질로 이용한 이종상 촉매의 합성과 특성연구

  • 공기 중 산소를 이용한 다양한 산화반응에 적합한 이종상 촉매 개발이 공업적으로나, 학문적으로 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 우리는 수산화 인회석(hydroxyapatite, HAP)에 Ru이 도입된 새로운 이종상 촉매를 합성하였으며, 이를 이용하여 알콜 산화 반응을 통해 반응성을 관찰하였다. 우리는 다양한 형태의 결정구조와 표면구조를 가지는 HAP를 합성하였으며, 이를 AFM, ICP, XRD, SEM를 통하여 결정구조를 분석하였다. 각각에 대해서 수용액상에서 Ion exchange 반응을 통하여 Ru를 HAP 표면에 치환하여 여러 종류의 RuHAP를 합성하였다. 특히, 알콜 산화반응을 통해 HAP의 결정 형태에 따라서 반응성의 차이를 가짐을 알 수 있었다. HAP는 Molten salt synthesis 방법을 이용하여 합성한 일정한 형태의 단결정과 무정형의 다결정 즉, 두 가지 다른 형태를 이용하여 각각에 대해 칼슘이 부족한 형태로써, Ca과 Ru과의 Ion exchange 반응을 통해 다양한 종류의 HAP를 합성하여 알콜 산화반응의 촉매로서 가지는 반응성을 연구하였다.

Catalytic Ozonation of Phenol (페놀의 촉매오존산화 반응에 관한 연구)

  • In this study AOPs of $O_3/UV$ radiation, $O_3/Mg(OH)_2/UV$ radiation and $O_3/MgO/UV$ radiation system for phenol treatment in aqueous solution was performed in a laboratory scale circulating batch reacter. Flow rate of ozone 1.0 L/min, ozone concentrations $150{\pm}10mg/L$ was maintained constantly at the above-mentioned oxidation processes. During the oxidation processes the $COD_{Cr}$ and TOC was measured in the composition. The pseudo first-order rate constants of the processes was $5.12{\times}10^{-5}$, $1.19{\times}10^{-4}$ and $1.79{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$, and the activation energy was 3.03, 1.79 and $2.32kcal{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ at $20^{\circ}C$, respectively. It was found that both $Mg(OH)_2$ and MgO had remarkable accelerations on degradation of phenol and removal of COD in water. On this basis, $O_3/MgO/UV$ system is an effective and feasible routes for catalytic ozonation of phenol in water.

  • SiO$_2$ 입자는 촉매, 촉매의 담체, 크로마토그래피를 위한 충진제등 여러 산업에 응용되고 있다.$^{1)}$ 본 연구 에서는 기능성을 가지는 입자를 제조하기 위해 SiO$_2$로써 기본적인 입자를 제조하고, 그 속에 소취특성을 가지는 TiO$_2$와 날염을 위한 EVA-microsphere를 포함시켜서 소취제로서, 그리고 날염 분체로서의 기능을 가진 입자들을 제조하고자 하였다. 실리카(silica)는 일반적으로 규소산화물을 지칭하는 명칭으로서, SiO$_2$뿐 아니라 결정구조상 4-6개의 산소원자로 둘러싸인 모든 형태의 규소산화물을 지칭 하는 것이고$^{2)}$ 수용액상의 물유리는 실리카 졸의 값싼 상품으로 산업분야에 널리 알려져 있다.   • 산화금속은 높은 결정성, quantum size effect, 높은 투과도, 대기중의 안정도 등과 같은 탁월한 성질들로 인하여 오늘날 실리콘의 대체물로서 많은 연구가 보고되고 있다. 이러한 금속산화물의 크기와 모양을 조절하며 대량 생산하기 위한 합성방법으로 가수분해, 금속양이온 응축법과 같은 다양한 수용액상 방법이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 2차원 단일 층에 나노물질을 정렬하고 전기적 접합을 형성하는 것이 매우 어렵다는 점 때문에 나노물질을 기판 위에 자유롭게 성장시키는 방법에 대해서는 아직 많이 보고 되어있지 않다. 본 연구에서 저온의 수용액에서 1차원의 나노막대가 2차원의 스피넬 구조 위에 heteroepotaxial 접합을 이루며 성장시키는 방법을 이용하였다. P-n접합 형성을 위하여 (0001)방향으로 배향된 n-type ZnO 나노막대를 (111)방향의 p-type Co3O4 나노플레이트 위에 성장시킨 구조를 제작하였으며 이를 바탕으로 다이오드소자를 제작하여 ideal factor, turn-on voltage, rectifying ratio등의 전기적 특성을 평가하였다.

  • In this paper we prepared dextrin dialdehyde (DAS) of a different oxidation ratio (aldehyde content) and examined their properties and discussed their tanning mechanism. DAS was produced by reacting dextrin in aqueous medium with periodate ion used in a molar ratio between periodate and glucose of 0.3 to 1.0 at a temperature of 20 to $45^{\circ}C$. Since DAS reacts with amino group, DAS may have tanning property of aldehyde tanning agent (formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde).

A Study of Ozonation Characteristics of Bis(2-chloroethyl) Ether (Bis(2-chloroethyl) Ether (BCEE)의 오존산화 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study ozonation of bis(2-chloroethyl) ether (BCEE) in aqueous solution was performed in a laboratory scale batch reacter. The ozonation process of BCEE was carried out by bubbling ozone at the bottom of reactor containing the BCEE solution. Ozonation was almost complete after 80 min with an ozone concentration of $50{\pm}10mg/L$. Ozonation treatment efficiencies of BCEE were evaluated in terms of $BOD_5$, $COD_{Cr}$, and TOC. In the ozonation of BCEE a 62.79% decrease of the $COD_{Cr}$ and a 57.25% decrease of the TOC lead to biodegradable by-products ($BOD_5/COD_{Cr}$ = 0.39). The results of this research show that wastewaters containing non-biodegradable compounds, such as BCEE can be successfully treated by ozonation followed by bio-treatment. The pseudo first-order rate constants of the ozonation was $2.00{\times}10^{-4}sec^{-1}$ and the activation energy was $10.02kcal{\cdot}mol^{-1}$ at $30^{\circ}C$.

Removal of As(III) and As(V) in Aqueous Phases by Fe and Mn Oxides Coated Granular Activated Carbon (철 및 망간 산화물로 코팅된 입자활성탄을 이용한 수용액 중 As(III) 및 As(V)의 제거)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of Fe and Mn oxides coated granular activated carbons (FMOCGs) for the removal of arsenite and arsenate by oxidation and adsorption mechanisms using surface characterization and batch adsorption experiments. Within four manufactured adsorbents, Fe and Mn contents of FMOCG-1 was the highest (178.12 mg Fe/g and 11.25 mg Mn/g). In kinetic results, As(III) was removed by oxidation and adsorption with FMOCGs. Removal of arsenic by FMOCGs increased as pH value of the solution decreased. The adsorption isotherm results were well fitted with Langmuir isotherm. Adsorption amount of As(V) onto FMOCGs was higher than that of As(III) and the maximum adsorption capacities of FMOCGs for As(III) and As(V) were 1.38~8.44 mg/g and 2.91~9.63 mg/g, respectively.

Stabilization of Ascorbic acid with Nonaqueous Emulsification (비수 유화법을 이용한 아스코르빅산의 안정화)

  • Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) becomes unstable in the aqueous phase by oxygen, light and alkali, etc. The properties are limited in application to cosmetics. The most important factor that determines the destabilization of ascorbic acid in the aqueous phase was tried to understand considering its molecular deformation and degradation. In this study, we changed the polyols and emulsification technique for the stability of ascorbic acid. Then we observed the color and concentration change of ascorbic acid at room temperature and high temperature ($42^{\circ}C$) for 6 weeks and identified the stability using HPLC regularly. As a result, we found that glycerin was the most appropriate polyol for stability of the ascorbic acid. Also the technique of nonaqueous emulsification stabilized ascorbic acid than P/S emulsification. Also, P/S emulsification, glycerin was more stable than propylene glycol. By the results we suggest that ascorbic acid could be stabilized by nonaqueous emulsification method and this data could be applied to stabilization methods for cosmetic products.
