An Approach to the Service Evaluation of Demand-Responsive Autonomous Mobility (수요응답형 자율주행 대중교통서비스 평가 방법)

  • Demand-responsive transit (DRT) is a concept introduced to provide appropriate service to areas with insufficient public transit services. Since the focus has been on regional expansion, a service evaluation and feedback system has not yet been established. In the context of recent research to combine DRT service and autonomous driving technology, this study examines domestic and overseas-related evaluation systems and research cases to discover indicators that meet demand-response autonomous mobility service evaluation. This study proposes a method for evaluating demand-responsive autonomous mobility services using an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) technique based on the investigated indicators. It is expected that the results will be used as primary data for building an evaluation system, contributing to enhanced service competitiveness and secure sustainability.

A Study of Global Path Planning System for Traffic Information Aware On-demand Delivery Services Using Autonomous Mobilities (교통소통정보 고려 모빌리티 기반 수요응답형 자율배송 서비스 전역경로 생성 시스템 개발)

  • Autonomous driving technologies have entered the initial stage of commercialization. Recently, mobility services that combine autonomous driving technologies and information and communication technologies based intelligent transportation systems are being actively developed. This study develops a global path planning system that considers traffic information and user demands to generate the shortest time paths for autonomous delivery services using Mixed Integer Programming. While providing the autonomous delivery services, the generated paths are updated recursively according to traffic information updates or additional demands. The developed global path planning system was verified by simulations with traffic information in the Sangam autonomous driving test-bed, and comparative analysis with existing manned delivery services shows that operating costs, product delivery time, and empty driving time were reduced.

Study on Multi-vehicle Routing Problem Using Clustering Method for Demand Responsive Transit (수요응답형 대중교통체계를 위한 클러스터링 기반의 다중차량 경로탐색 방법론 연구)

  • The Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) system is the flexible public transport service that determines the route and schedule of the service vehicles according to users' requests. With increasing importance of public transport systems in urban areas, the development of stable and fast routing algorithms for DRT has become the goal of many researches over the past decades. In this study, a new heuristic method is proposed to generate fast and efficient routes for multiple vehicles using demand clustering and destination demand priority searching method considering the imbalance of users' origin and destination demands. The proposed algorithm is tested in various demand distribution scenarios including random, concentration and directed cases. The result shows that the proposed method reduce the drop of service ratio due to an increase in demand density and save computation time compared to other algorithms. In addition, compared to other clustering-based algorithms, the walking cost of the passengers is significantly reduced, but the detour time and in-vehicle travel time of the passenger is increased due to the detour burden.

Analysis on the Importance Rank of Service Components of Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand Service by Potential User Groups (수요응답형 자율주행 대중교통 서비스의 잠재적 이용자 집단 간 서비스 요소별 중요도에 관한 분석)

  • In the near future, it is expected that the use of autonomous mobility-on-demand services will increase. Considering its complicated service components, including vehicle convenience, driving and matching speed, and platform convenience, the priorities of them will need to be determined for a successful establishment. In this context, this study examined the importance rank of each service component through an online survey of potential users of autonomous mobility-on-demand services. As a result of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) with respect to the upper-level components, driving and matching speed component is selected as most important, followed by platform convenience and vehicle convenience. Mean rank analysis with respect to lower-level components showed that the in-vehicle congestion level of vehicle convenience, waiting time of driving and matching speed, and pre-booking availability of platform convenience each ranked first. Additional analysis regarding each group was conducted to establish a group-specific strategy. As a result, it would be better to focus on a vehicle than a mobile platform when designing services for the region with a high proportion of the older. Moreover, it is recommended to speed up the driving and matching speeds more than the current public transport, alleviate in-vehicle congestion, and enable the users to book the schedule in advance.

A Study on the Influencing Factors of Continuous Usage Intention for a Scenario based FAQ Service regarding on Private Information Protection (개인정보보호에 관한 시나리오 기반 질의응답서비스 품질이 이용의도에 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The paper studies the influencing factors of continuous usage intention for a scenario based cognitive FAQ service regrading on private information protection. The research result finds that three major factors are significantly positive to the continuous usage intention for the service. First, search easiness is an essential factor and it can be improved using sophisticate categorization. Second, Scenario based FAQ service is effective on understanding and solving questioner's situation. Related information is helpful for problem solving. The research shows that the new approach to private information protection area can lead to a more acceptable and reasonable problem solving tool.

  • As connected and automated driving(CAD) technology is entering its commercialization stage, service platforms providing CAD-based mobility services have increased these days. However, CAD-baded mobility services with these platforms need more consideration for the demand for mobility services when determining target areas for CAD-based mobility services because current CAB-based mobility design focus on driving performance and driving stability. For a more efficient design of CAD-based mobility services, we analyzed the applicability for the introduction of CAD-based mobility services in terms of driving difficulty of CAD and demand patterns of current non-CAD based-mobility services, e.g., taxi, demand-responsive transit(DRT), and special transportation systems(STS). In addition, for the spatial analysis of the applicability of the CAD-based mobility service, we propose the Index for Autonomous Driving Applicability (IADA) and analyze the characteristics of the spatial distribution of IADA from the network perspective. The analysis results show that the applicability of CAD-based mobility services depends more on the demand patterns than the driving difficulty of CAV. In particular, the results show that the concentration pattern of demand in a specific road link is more important than the size of demand. As a result, STS service shows higher applicability compared to other mobility services, even though the size of demand for this mobility service is relatively small.

  • 전 세계적으로 다양한 영역에서 빅데이터 활용 성공 사례가 증가하게 되면서 도서관 분야에서도 빅데이터를 활용한 신규 서비스 개발 필요성이 제기 되고 있다. 본 연구는 공공도서관의 정보서비스 제공 및 도서관 운영 실태, 이용자 특성 등을 분석하였고, 이를 바탕으로 새로운 도서관 패러다임을 이끄는 도서관 빅데이터 서비스 모형을 개발하고자 한다. 먼저, 설문 대상을 사서 집단과 이용자 집단으로 나누어 공공도서관 이용현황을 파악하였고, 대표적인 공공도서관 서비스인 장서개발 및 열람봉사, 이용자 맞춤형 추천서비스에 대한 수요도를 분석하였다. 추가적으로 응답에 대한 집단 간 차이에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석결과를 토대로 관련 서비스 개발을 위한 방향성을 도출하였고, 향후 활용 가능한 도서관 빅데이터 서비스 정립을 위한 기초 방안을 제시하였다.

A Study on Fare Estimation for Demand Responsive Transport (수요응답형교통체계 이용요금 가치 추정 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the appropriate Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) fare for bus users upon introduction of the system, which is to improve ridership on economically non-profitable routes and to conform to the mobility right of those living in presently non-serviced rural areas. For this, a stated preference (SP) survey was adopted to assess respondents' preferences regarding DRT introduction, while the contingent valuation method (CVM) was used to calculate their willingness to pay (WTP) for DRT services. The analysis results show that, compared to the existing bus services with a 1,000 won bus fare, the value of DRT is considered to be 38.85%, 31.03% and 30.12% higher in terms of overall assessment, usability and convenience, respectively. The results of this study are expected to facilitate the decision making aimed at setting the appropriate DRT fare and implementing a DRT system that meets sustainability requirements.

  • 본 연구에서는 신 수요관리 기법인 DR(Demand Response)시스템의 개발 및 운영현황을 알아 보았다. 특히 DR 시스템의 구성 방안과 각 모듈들의 설계시 검토 및 요구 사항을 분석하였다. 그리고 공급자와 수요자를 잇는 네트워크는 국가전력 IT과제에서 Portal의 개념을 도입하여 CP(Consumer Portal) 및 DP(Device Portal)에 의한 채널의 표준화를 시도하고 있다. DR의 개념은 수요관리와 가격 응답으로 공급자의 관리 기능과 가격 또는 인센티브 등이 제공되는 수요자가 참여하는 서비스의 양면을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 시스템이 개발될 경우에는 전력사와 소비자 사이의 양방향 통신 채널이 형성되고 따라서 실시간 수요의 측정이 가능해진다. 또한 이를 토대로 DR 시스템을 사전 검토 및 계획상의 문제점을 분석하여 한국형 DR 시스템의 개발에 대한 기반을 조성하고자 하였다.

A Study on the User Satisfaction of Demand Response Transport(DRT) by Quantile Regression Analysis (분위회귀분석에 의한 수요응답형교통 이용자 만족도 분석)

  • As the rural areas have experienced the population reduction and the aging, the service level of public transit decreases. This study analyzes the effecting factor to user satisfaction of demand response transport(DRT) as alternative to rural public transit by the quantile regression that aims at estimating either the conditional median or other quantiles of the response variable. Jeonbuk Province tested DRT operations in Dongsang of Wanju County and Sannae of Jeongup City each in 2015. The user DRT satisfaction of Wanju was higher than one of Jeongup in basic statistics analysis. The difference in satisfaction between higher quantile and lower quntile of Wanju is smaller than one of Jeongupy as a result of quantile regression analysis. Also, Wanju DRT continues the second test operation of DRT as satisfaction from Ordinary Least Squares(OLS) close to higher satisfaction quantile.
