Graphite Spheroidization in Cast Iron by Addition of Misch Metal Hydrides (주철(鑄鐵)의 흑연(黑鉛)구상화에 미치는 Misch Metal Hydride의 첨가효과(添加效果))

  • 3.9%C-2.0%Si-Fe 조성의 압분체(壓粉體)를 $1350^{\circ}$, Ar가스 분위기에서 50분간 용해한 용탕에 시판(市販) misch metal과 misch metal hydride인 MmH와 $MmH_2$를 각각 여러비율로 첨가(添加)한후 서냉(徐冷)및 급냉(急冷)한 시편의 흑연형상(黑鉛形狀)의 변화로부터 misch metal hydride의 구상화능(球狀化能)과 흑연구상화(黑鉛球狀化) 기구(機構) 로서의 기포설(氣泡說)의 타당성을 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) Misch metal은 0.5% 이상, 그리고 misch metal hydride는 0.25% 이상 첨가한 때 구상흑연(球狀黑鉛)과 CV 흑연(黑鉛)이 나타났으며, misch metal hydride를 첨가한 때가 misch metal에 비하여 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 더 많았다. 이와같이 misch metal hydride의 첨가량이 misch metal에 비하여 적었음에도 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 더 많은 것을 보면 Mm으로부터 방출되는 다수(多數)의 수소기포(水素氣泡)가 구상흑연(球狀黑鉛)의 정출장소로 되는 것으로 해석되기 때문에 기포설(氣泡說)이 타당하다고 생각된다. 2) Misch metal 과 misch metal hydride의 첨가량(添加量)이 1.0%로 증가되면 두경우 모두 흑연립수(黑鉛粒數)가 감소하였다. 이는 용탕중에 개재된 수소기포(水素氣泡)의 실수율차이에 의한 잔류 수소기포수의 증가율둔화와 첨가량(添加量)의 증가에 따른 잔류 misch metal량의 상대적(相對的) 증가로 인한 다량의 잔류 misch metal이 응고과정에서 수소를 재흡수 용해하여 흑연입수를 결정하는 용탕중의 유효수소기포수(有效水素氣泡數)를 감소시켰기 때문으로 생각된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 디젤로 오염된 토양을 효율적으로 정화하기 위해, 알칼리제와 과산화수소를 이용하는 새로운 방식의 토양세척기법에 대하여 일련의 회분식 실험을 통하여 최적의 운전조건을 검토하고자 하였다. 알칼리제인 NaOH를 이용하여 세척수의 pH를 상승시켜, 강알칼리 상태에서 과산화수소를 주입하면 미세기포가 발생되며, 이 미세기포에 의해 토양에 흡착되어 있는 유류 오염물질이 효과적으로 탈착.부상된다. #60(0.25mm) 이하의 자연토양을 6,500 mg TPH/kg dry soil로 오염시켜 사용하였으며, 세척수의 pH, 진탕비(토양 중량 : 세척용액 부피), 과산화수소 주입량, 세척시간에 의한 영향을 살펴보았다. 세척수의 pH는 12, 진탕비는 1:5, 과산화수소 주입량은 1%, 세척시간은 1시간으로 적용한 결과 최대효율(60%)을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata (N. oculta) and Chlorella vulgaris (C. vulgaris) are important sources for biodisel because of the high content of neutral lipids. Stable nano bubble is maintained for a long time and therefore it is possible for use in biotechnology. In this study, effects of nano bubble oxygen or hydrogen water on the microalgae growth were characterized. The cell growth in nano bubble water was similar to that of control, and the total lipid content was rather low. But, chlorophyll content of N. oculata grown in nanno bubble oxygen and hydrogen water increased 54% and 30%, and increased 59%, 39% in C. vulgaris. Carotenoid content also increased 21%, 25% in N. oculata and 49%, 29% in C. vulgaris grown in nano bubble oxygen and hydrogen water. From these results, nano bubble water seems to enhance the photosynthetic capacity of microalgae.

전기부상법을 이용한 토양세정 유출수 중 유수분리에 관한 연구

  • 전기분해에 의한 부상현상을 이용하여 토양세정 후 발생되는 유출수 중의 유수를 분리하기 위한 적정 운전조건에 관하여 고찰하였다. 전압에 의한 유수분리 효율을 관찰한 결과, 전기분해 1시간 후 3V의 전압만으로도 88% 정도의 제거율을 나타내었으며 6V 이상의 전압에서는 90% 정도로 거의 비슷한 제거율을 나타내어 대부분의 에멀젼이 분리됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 동일조건에서는 전기분해 시간이 경과될 수록 분리효율이 향상되었으며, 전극 간격이 넓어질수록 같은 효율을 얻기 위해 소요되는 전압의 크기가 커짐을 알 수 있었다. 전기분해 시 양극에서는 OH$^{-}$의 방전으로 발생되는 산소에 의해 산화반응이 일어나며, 음극에서는 H$^{+}$가 방전되어 발생되는 수소에 의해 환원반응이 일어나며 미세한 기포가 형성된다. 유분의 부상분리 현상은 유분의 (-)charge와 전기분해에 의해서 발생되는 양이온의 결합으로 인한 중화반응 및 음극에서 발생되는 미세 수소기포로 인만 부상분리가 대부분을 차지하며, 전압 및 전기분해 시간이 증가하고 전극 간격이 좁을수록 음극에서 발생되는 미세기포의 양이 증가되어 부상효과가 크게 나타나는 것으로 판단된다. 전극 종류는 구리 > 알루미늄 > 철 > 티타늄 순으로 효율을 나타내었으며, 이는 양극으로 사용된 이러한 금속들의 전기전도도 차이에 의해 일어나는 현상으로 판단된다

  • Arthrospira platensis (A. platensis) has been used in various fields including dietary supplements as it contains a high protein content and large amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, it has some pigments such as phycocyanin, myxoxanthophyll and zeaxanthin and thus has been used as a food additive and antioxidant substance. Nano-bubble hydrogen is to dissolve more than the saturation solubility in water by injecting the hydrogen gas in the nano-bubble hydrogen water. The nano-bubbles are known to possess higher antioxidant properties in addition to anticancer effects. In this paper, Arthrospira platensis was cultured in both a normal medium with distilled water and nano-bubble hydrogen water medium and their properties were compared. The cell growth and the content of chlorophyll and carotenoid in the nano-bubble hydrogen water was 15% higher than that of the control. The level of phycocyanin in nano-bubble hydrogen water was also 7% higher than that of the control. However, there were little differences in the lipid content between the nano-bubble and control. To determine the content of the antioxidants, the level of flavonoid and polyphenol were measured. The level of flavonoid in nano-bubble hydrogen water was found to be more than 70% increased when comparing to that of the control, while the level of polyphenol was similar to each other.

  • In this paper, as the new type of multi-lines electrode which can formulate strong non-uniform electric field was installed in strong electrolytic water generator, shapes of pre-discharge in bubble and effects of bubble discharge on pH and oxidation/reduction potential change were intended to investigate. Consequently, as multi-lines electrode was installed in side of anode, pre-discharges generated from anode electrode could be observed. This pre-discharge was generated from differences of permittivities between bubble and water in strong non-uniform electric field. And ion concentration in electrolytic water generator was increased by dissolving of ions generated from bubble discharge. So, as generated high concentration ions were separated and assembled to each electrode and reaction of oxidation/reduction was increased, it was shown that strong electrolytic water could be generated.

  • The treatment of petroleum contaminated soil requires various physico-chemical remediation technologies which are efficient in time and can reduce the possibility of secondary contamination by themselves In this study, an innovated soil washing process was proposed to treat the diesel-contaminated soil. Micro-bubbles, which were generated by hydrogen peroxide, deserted and floated the contaminants. Soils less than #60(0.25mm) were artificially contaminated by 6,500mg TPH/kg dry soil initially. The process was examined for pH, the soil to water mixing ratio, concentration of $H_2O$$_2$, and contacting times. In the case of less than #60 soil, maximum removal efficiency(60%) was obtained at pH 12. 1.0% hydrogen peroxide, and 1 : 5 soil to water mixing ratio for 1 hour.

  • High resilience PU foams were prepared with polyether type cell opener. The influences of cell opener concentration on the kinetics, rheology, structural stability morphology and open cell content of the obtained foam were investigated and the role of cell opener during cell opening was determined. And mechanical properties as a function of cell opener concentration were studied. It was observed that urea formation reaction was delayed due to high hydrophilicity of cell opener The decrease of viscosity and the increase of tan $\delta$ were confirmed with increasing cell opener concentration so that the resulted foam had low structural stability and high open cell content. The deterioration of matrix and uniform dispersion of hydrogen-bonded urea in matrix with cell opener concentration was revealed by SEM analysis. As a result, elastic properties of the foam matrix were decreased due to high hydrophilicity of cell opener during the preparation of high resilience polyurethane foam and foam with high open cell content resulted. Hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, elongation of foam were decreased with increasing cell opener concentration.

  • The increase in energy efficiency has became a significantly important issue for building construction and maintenance. The energy efficiency is known to be achieved by using a material with lower thermal conductivity, and the best method is to increase the internal porosity of the material. Typical ways to increase internal porosity within cementitious composite are to use foaming agents or to use reactive powder such as aluminum. However, in this work, hydrogen peroxide was chosen as an alternative material to make lightweight cement mortar. The volume expansion of fresh cement mortar and unit weight, compressive strength and thermal conductivity of 28 day old cement mortar were measured. According to the experimental results, the incorporation of hydrogen peroxide increased internal porosity, and thereby reducing the compressive strength and thermal conductivities of cement mortar. It was found that hydrogen peroxide can be successfully used to produce lightweight mortar for thermal insulation purposes of buildings.
