  • In this study, partition coefficients(Kw) of phenoxyethanol in oil-water phase according to type of oils was investigated. Partition coefficients(Kw) were experimented by classified oils that hydrocarbones, fatty alcohols, fatty acids, esters, triglycerides and silicones. It was found that partition coefficients(Kw) of hydrocarbons and silicones were low, but partition coefficients(Kw) of fatty acids, fatty alcohols, esters and triglycerides were high. It was known that the emulsions which were made of oils having low partition coefficients value had a good antimicrobial effects. Thus, the cosmetics stability of microorganisms and skin safety of phenoxyethanol could be improved by using the oils which have low partition coefficients value.

Characteristics of Water-Based Magnetic Fluid Using Saturated Fatty Acids (포화지방산에 의한 수상자성유체의 분산특성)

  • The water-based magentic fluids were successfully prepared with the synthesized ultrafine magnetite using saturated with fatty acids($C_{9}~C_{18}$) and SDBS as surfactants. The dispersion index of water-based fluids was about 85 % when the amounts of lauric acid and SDBS for the 27 g of magnetite were more than $2.66{\times}10^{-2}mol$ and 5 g($7.17{\times}10^{-2}mol$) respectively. As the solid content increased from 0.05 g/cc to 0.4 g/cc, saturated magnetization of magnetic fluids at 5 kOe increased from 2.07 emu/g to 9.31 emu/g and its viscosity increased from 1.20 cp to 3.95 cp. The stable pH region in which the magnetic fluids prepared with lauric acid and SDBS was range of 3.1 to 11.1. It was found that the water-based magnetic fluids was well dispersed as the carbon length of fatty acid increased, but the amount of scum of the magnetic fluids increased.

Real Options Analysis for the Investment of Floating Photovoltaic Project in Saemangeum (실물옵션을 활용한 새만금 수상태양광 투자사업의 수익성 분석)

  • Saemangeum Development is the largest national project in South Korea, which has been developed for an agricultural, economic and tourist area for 30 years from 1987. In order to convert power sources that used to depend on nuclear and thermal power to eco-friendly for carbon reduction, the government plans to construct a 2.1GW floating photovoltaic project by investing 4.6 trillion won, as a public-private project. For success of the Saemangeum floating photovoltaic project, economic feasibility should be checked. This study defined the factors (construction cost, electricity selling price, power generation and maintenance cost) that give a effect to the volatility of the floating photovoltaic payoffs, and analyzed the volatility of payoffs during 20 years operation period. NPV and option value of the project were calculated by applying an option to abandon. According to NPV analysis, it is determined that projects are difficult to invest. But this project has economic feasibility through real options analysis. This study is expected to help decision-makers in the economic analysis of floating photovoltaic projects by using the real options analysis.
