Co-simulation for Dynamic Characteristic Analaysis of Solenoid Valve for Vehicle (자동차용 솔레노이드 밸브의 동특성을 위한 연성해석)

  • This paper proposes a methodology for developing the performance of a solenoid valve for vehicles based on the dynamic analysis model by an electromagnetic field. The high performance solenoid model with a low current and high thrust was induced through the shape optimal design of the yoke and plunger. To perform the dynamic analysis of the solenoid valve, the input current profile was analyzed. The speed and thrust information was analyzed by FEM with this current profile. The co-simulation method of the circuit model of control logic and electromagnetic model of the solenoid valve was also proposed to analyze the performance with several current patterns. Finally, the performance of the original model and optimal one was compared.

Design of Safety and Arming Device of the Fuze using Solenoid for Improving Safety (안전성 증대를 위해 솔레노이드를 적용한 신관 안전장전장치 설계)

  • The safety and arming device(SAD), one of the components of the fuzes, shall provide safety that is consistent with handling, storage, transportation, use, and disposal. In this paper, we describes the design of the SAD which includes the solenoid assembly and the solenoid driving circuit to improve the safety of the fuzes. The solenoid assembly consists of a coil assembly, a restoring spring, and a core. The solenoid assembly is added in the SAD as an additional safety device. In case of the normal circumstances, the core of the solenoid assembly restrains the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ safety devices of the SAD for those devices not to operate at all, so that the SAD can secure safety for storage, transportation, and use. In contrast, when the battery power is provided to the solenoid driving circuit just before the flight, the core confirms the power level and starts removing the restraint from the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ safety devices of the SAD, and then the SAD is able to change its mode from safety mode to armed mode. After firing, once the SAD's operations complete, the turned-on arming switch stops providing the power to the solenoid assembly automatically. It can reduce the power consumption at solenoid assembly. Therefore, the proposed solenoid driving circuit for the solenoid assembly not only unlocks the restrained solenoid assembly from the safety devices, but also saves the power consumption during the flight.

  • 본 논문에서는 Multi-stage 코일건의 동작시간에 따른 성능향상 및 솔레노이드의 최적화에 대해 연구하였다. 동일한 저항값을 가진 솔레노이드에 자기차폐효과를 적용시켜 최적화된 솔레노이드 형상을 설계하였으며, 이 솔레노이드 3개를 이용해 Multi-stage 코일건을 제작하였다. 제작된 Multi-stage 코일건의 성능 향상을 위해 본 논문에서는 AVR(ATmaga128)을 이용하여 각 솔레노이드의 동작시간을 제어하고 Multi-stage 코일건의 각 동작시간에 따라 발사체의 속도가 증가한다는 것을 측정값을 통해 검증하였다.

  • Solenoid valve cleaner is used for clean the solenoid valve in automatic transmission for a car when it is clogged with transmission oil sludge. Nevertheless when the solenoid is turned off, the residual current in the solenoid coil makes slow motion of the plunger in the solenoid which makes lower in cleansing performance and speed. In this paper, the method of performance Improvement for solenoid valve cleaner is proposed. The residual current in the solenoid coil is eliminated rapidly by the proposed method and it improves the cleansing performance and speed. The experimental results show the validity of the reposed method.

  • Solenoid diaphragm fuel pump, which to replace mechanical fuel pump system by utilizing cam-shaft driving force, is in the spotlight for being a high efficient green car component. However, there is a drawback in power consumption as a solenoid diaphragm fuel pump only relies on solenoid for its flux needed in reciprocating motion. Therefore, this research proposes permanent magnet type VCM (Voice Coil Motor) fuel pump system to minimized power consumption. Furthermore, the study compares and analyzes power consumption and dynamic performance between the current and the former solenoid diaphragm pump by conducting finite element analysis with the commercial electromagnetic solver, MAXWELL.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging anti-solenoid probes have been constructed for the internal imaging. Signal-to-noise ratios of the images acquired by the anti-solenoid probes were compared with those obtained by commercial probes such as a head coil and a body coil. In terms of the internal imaging, the anti-solenoid probes, constructed in the present study, was performed better than the conventional commercial probes. Also, RF(radio-frequency)-field maps produced by the anti-solenoid probes have been simulated using computers. The possibility of human internal imaging using the anti-solenoid probes has been discussed as well.

  • 최근 높은 임계전류를 지닌 고온초전도선재를 이용한 초전도 전력기기의 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 고온초전도선재의 임계전류는 자장에 대한 의존성을 지니고 있으며 이로 인해 고온초전도선재가 코일의 형태로써 초전도 전력기기의 개발에 이용되는 경우, 권선 방식에 따라 다른 전기적 특성을 지니게 된다. 이러한 특성은 초전도선재의 전력기기의 효율에 큰 영향을 미치므로 권선 방식에 따른 코일의 특성을 연구하는 것은 초전도선재를 이용한 전력기기의 효율을 높이는데 있어서 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 권선 방식에 따른 코일의 특성을 비교하기 위해 동일한 턴 수와 사용 선재길이를 가진 팬케이크 코일과 솔레노이드 코일을 설계, 제작하고 두 코일의 임계전류를 측정하였다. 또한 인가전류에 대한 두 코일의 전압, 저항특성과 교류손실 특성을 측정하고 비교하였다. 측정결과, 두 코일의 임계전류는 솔레노이드 코일이 109A로 팬케이크 코일에 비해 약 $36\%$ 더 높았다. 코일에 가해준 인가전류가 증가함에 따라 코일에서 발생하는 전압 중 손실에 관련된 저항성 성분의 전압이 변화하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 교류손실은 인가 전류의 피크값이 팬케이크 코일의 임계전류 이하인 구간에서 팬케이크 코일이 솔레노이드 코일의 교류손실보다 9배 크며, 팬케이크와 솔레노이드의 임계전류 사이에서는 8.3배 컸다.

  • In this paper, numerical analysis of dynamic characteristics for the plunger-type solenoid was used for a high speed solenoid valve with fast switching is discussed. The theoretic analysis of the electromagnetic field including eddy currents in the solenoid is studied by using permeance. The optimum value of design parameters which are a mass and an area of the plunger, a source voltage, a elastic modulus of the spring, a stroke, a number of turns, are obtained by the results of the investigation on effect of a parameter on others. And dynamic characteristics of acting solenoid that is the variation of magnetic force, displacement, solenoid current are investigated.

  • 본 논문에서는 솔레노이드 형태의 칩 인덕터와 나선형태의 박막 인덕터에 대하여 주파수 특성을 비교 분석하여 장 단점을 정의하고자 한다. 솔레노이드형 RF 칩 인덕터는 $1.0mm{\times}0.5mm{\times}0.5mm$의 크기에 11nH의 인덕턴스를 가질 수 있도록 6회 권선하였다. 나선형 박막 인덕터는 $213{\mu}m{\times}250{\mu}m{\times}304{\mu}m$의 크기에 11nH의 인덕턴스를 가질 수 있도록 7회 권선하였다. 시뮬레이션을 위하여 AnSoft사의 HFSS를 이용하였으며, 이 결과 솔레노이드형 RF 칩 인덕터는 2GHz에서 77 정도의 품질계수와 5.6GHz의 SRF를 가진다. 반면 나선형 박막 인덕터는 2GHz에서 14 정도의 품질계수와 4.5GHz의 SRF를 가진다. 성능면에서는 솔레노이드형 RF 칩 인덕터가 우수한 특성을 나타내었으나 크기를 감소시키는데 제한을 받으므로, 향후 소형 경량화를 위하여 박막 인덕터의 개발은 필수적이며, 성능을 더욱 향상시키기 위하여 나선형태와 재료의 개발이 필수적이라 하겠다.

  • For the purpose of optimal control of anti-lock brake system, precise dynamic characteristics analysis of the hydraulic modulator, especially solenoid valve is necessary. However, most of researches so law have dealt with dynamic characteristic analysis of valve itself and the results have been restrictive to apply on the actual ABS modulator, where hydraulic pressure is acting. In this study, mathematical modeling and experimental analysis were executed in order to evaluate the valve dynamic characteristics when the hydraulic pressure applied. High pressure on the master cylinder effects on the valve dynamic characteristics have been analyzed quantitatively and performance improvement methods have been suggested varying the design factor. Consequently, results of solenoid valve dynamic characteristics analysis derived in the study can be utilized criteria for the optimal control of anti-lock brake system.
