중ㆍ소형 LPG 개조차량의 배출가스 저감특성

  • 우리나라의 자동차 등록대수는 90년대 중반 이후 1,000만대를 돌파하여, 2002년 12월 현재 1천 4백만 대에 육박하고 있다. 2000년 전국 대기오염물질 배출량 조사결과의 수송부문의 기여율은 58%로서, 자동차 오염물질이 국내 대기질 악화에 중요한 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있으며, 이 중에서도 특히 경유자동차는 중요한 오염물질 배출원으로 알려져 있다. 경유자동차 저공해화 대책의 일환인 천연가스차 보급으로 대형 경유차에 대해서는 저공해화 기반이 마련되었으나, 중ㆍ소형 경유차에 대한 대책은 상대적으로 미흡한 실정이었다.(중략)

Euro6 소형 경유자동차의 실제 도로 주행 NOx 배출량 평가 (Estimating On-road NOx Emissions of Euro 6 Light-duty Diesel Vehicles)

  • To protect air pollution of urban area from motor vehicles, emission limits for diesel vehicles have been dramatically lowered in short period. But recent studies have shown that on-road NOx emissions of light-duty diesel vehicles are considerably higher than the values measured with laboratory test procedures used for emission certification. To tackle with this issue, Ministry of Environment have a plan to introduce EU RDE-LDV (Real-driving Emission-Light-duty Vehicle) regulation. In this study, 4 Euro 6 diesel vehicles have been tested with the new test procedures published by EU to estimate on-road NOx emissions using PEMS (Portable Emission Measurement System). The results have shown that the requirements of EU RDE-LDV could be met in driving condition of metropolitan area for constitution of test routes and validity of test results. In analysing with Moving Averaging Window method the completeness and normality of test data were validated with the requirement. On-road NOx emissions were quite deviated as test vehicles and higher than the new limit of on-road NOx emission enforced from Sept. 2017, which means that RDE-LDV can effectively reduce NOx emission of diesel vehicles in real driving conditions of Korea.

차량인증모드와 실도로 주행모드별 국내 경유 소형화물 자동차의 온실가스 배출특성 분석 (A Study of Greenhouse Gas Emission Rates from LDTs according to Emission Certification Modes and Real-World Vehicle Driving Cycles in Korea)

  • 자동차 분야는 온실가스 배출량의 상당 부분을 차지하는 주요 배출원으로써, 우리나라는 온실가스 저감을 위하여 2020년까지 교통부문에서는 BAU 대비 34.3%를 감축하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이러한 목표달성을 위하여 2012년부터 자동차 온실가스 배출기준을 적용하고 있으며, 차기 온실가스 배출기준을 마련하는데 있어 소형 화물차량에 대한 대상차종 포함 여부가 검토되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경유 소형화물 자동차를 대상으로 주행모드에 따른 온실가스 배출특성을 분석하였다. 차속모드인 NIER 모드를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 자동차 온실가스 배출량은 차속이 증가할수록 감소하는 반비례 경향을 나타내었으며, $CO_2$의 경우 일정차속(65.4 km/h) 이상의 고속구간에서는 배출량이 증가하였다. 자동차 주행거리에 따른 온실가스 배출량 증가는 나타나지 않았으며, 각국의 온실가스 배출량 측정모드를 적용한 결과, 유럽에서 적용하고 있는 NEDC 모드에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한, 복합모드 시험 시 $CO_2$ 배출이 CVS-75 모드에 비하여 8% NEDC 모드에 비하여 14% 적게 나타났다.

  • In late 1997, the portion of registered light-duty diesel vehicle was 25.3% and its emission rate was 17.1% in Korea. Especially, diesel particulate matters(DPM) and NOx are hazardous air pollutants to human health and environment in urban area. The reduction technologies of exhaust emissions from diesel engines are improvement of engine combustion, fuel quality and development of diesel exhaust after treatment , In this study , a light-duty diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) that is one of the diesel exhaust after treatment was made for performance evaluation and the emission characteristics were tested on CVS-75 mode. And the analysis of the particle size distribution with scanning mobility particle 100, 67.6% and 66.7, 10.0% for Pt and Pt-V catalyst .And for Pt catalyst, the PM increased 7.8% because of increasing sulfate but Pt-V catalyst reduced the PM to 23.0% . Test results of particle size distribution showed that peak values of number and mass densities are respectively 100∼200nm their distribution trend independent of vehicle speed.

  • Since September 2017, a small diesel vehicle certification test mode has been enhanced from NEDC to WLTC. The main reason for the change of the certification test mode is that the certification test mode of the emission control standard of the diesel vehicle does not sufficiently reflect various driving patterns of the actual roads. Several automakers have developed after-treatment systems such as LNT, SCR, and DPF to meet enhanced emissions regulations. In this study, four small diesel cars were selected for sale in Korea, and the exhaust gas measurement test was performed in the WLTC mode, which reflects the driving characteristics of the actual roads. As a result of test, LNT vehicle exceeded Euro 6 NOx regulation and SCR vehicle satisfied Euro 6 NOx regulation. In addition, both LNT and SCR systems showed high NOX emission characteristics due to speed, RPA and Vxa. For the PN, all test vehicles were fitted with a DPF and met the Euro 6 PN regulations, with similar PN emissions results in LNT and SCR system.

  • Recently, The ministry of Environment in korea have introduced Euro-6d temp which was strengthened at the same time as Europe. Small Light-duty passenger vehicles need the SCR system of after-treatment to meet enhanced emission regulations. However, SCR system has a low conversion efficiency in a low temperature less than 200 degree. In this study, the NOx conversion efficiency of SCR system was analyzed by installing a NOx sensors and a temperature sensors in a diesel vehicle. Also, in order to analyze the effect of the cold-start, the test was performed on the same RDE route and compared with the test of hot-start. As a result, SCR system has characteristics of low conversion efficiency under cold-start conditions.

  • 나름대로 탄탄대로를 걷던 LPG자동차시장에 심상치 않은 기운이 감지되고 있다. 그동안 꾸준히 증가하던 부탄소비량이 감소세로 들어섰으며 LPG자동차의 점유율도 뒷걸음질치고 있기 때문이다. 중 소형 자동차시장은 그동안 휘발유와 경유, LPG로 대변됐지만 고유가와 새로운 기술의 등장으로 CNG차, 전기차 등의 진입이 더욱 빠르게 진행되고 있다. LPG충전업계의 한 관계자는 "LPG업계가 방심하다가는 LPG자동차시장이 붕괴될 수 있는 중요한 시점"이라며 "나는 괜찮겠지 하는 안일한 생각을 하면 급변하는 수송용 시장에서 LPG가 설자리가 없어질 수 있다"고 말했다. 이처럼 부탄자동차시장에 대해 우려 섞인 목소리를 하고 있는 실정에서 왜 이 같은 분위기가 형성되고 있는지 알아보기 위해 부탄소비량 현황, LPG자동차 등록대수, 위협요소, 향후 전망 등을 보다 면밀히 알아본다.

소형경유트럭의 하이브리드 튜닝 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Safety of Hybrid Tuning for Light-duty Diesel Trucks)

  • This paper is the result of a research on hybrid tuning technology developed to improve the actual fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of in-use light-duty diesel trucks. In this study, a hybrid powertrain was constructed by inserting an electric motor between the diesel engine and manual transmission of an internal combustion engine vehicle and installing a battery. To verify the safety, a test was conducted based on the Korean tuning regulations. In particular, since there has been no case of tuning an internal combustion engine vehicle into a hybrid vehicle in Korea, it was necessary to carry out all procedures to receive tuning approval. The approval process consists of a technical review, safety verification test, and application for tuning approval. As a result, the test vehicle was approved for tuning because both the technical review and vehicle test results were suitable. Therefore, this study confirmed the safety of diesel hybrid tuning technology, and laid the foundation for the research and development of technologies to tune into an eco-friendly vehicle as well as the activation of related industries.

  • The EU (European Union) was introduced Euro-6e in 2023. Recently, the EU prepare to introduce Euro-7. One of difference Euro-6e and Euro-7 is test route condition. This study developed 5 test routes that have different characteristics and severity. The severity of test routes was made by traffic and road gradient. And this study was conducted RDE test on 5 test routes for Light-Duty diesel vehicle (Euro-6d). Based on the test results, the emission characteristics of CO2 and NOx were analyzed according to the severity of the test routes. Especially, 4 test routes were satisfied normal driving condition of Euro-7 and other test route was satisfied extended driving condition of Euro-7.

  • In-use light duty diesel vehicles are considered as one of major sources of particulate emissions in many cities, and the start of the retrofit program for the light duty diesel vehicles is expected in near future in Korea. One of the problems of the retrofit of the light duty diesel vehicles is that the exhaust gas temperature is too low to apply passive regeneration DPF systems. This study introduces a catalytic combustor as a new active DPF regeneration technology. This study shows the principle and characteristics of DPF regeneration by the catalytic combustor and suggests it's proper control method for better regeneration.
