  • Objectives : The purpose of this paper is to study the metaphor that the liver is the admiral from which strategic planning is derived in 『Suwen Linglanmidianlun』 in relation to Liver function. Methods : Annotations to the verse along with descriptions of strategic planning in classical texts and their relation were examined. Results : Previous annotators described the Admiral organ and Strategic Planning separately, in which it is difficult to fully explain the totality the two. They cannot be separated from each other, and only when they are in dependence of each other can they become complete. Liver function as described in classical texts and contemporary text books such as detoxification and sterilization all embody this meaning of strategic planning of an admiral. Conclusions : Reinterpretation of the Liver function based on an integrated understanding of the Liver as described in 『Suwen Linglanmidianlun』 is required. This will allow for better understanding of what the metaphor means, and to better connect this description to Liver physiology for an integrated understanding of the Liver itself in Korean Medicine.

And 20 Prescriptions of Somunsunmyungronbang similar to Prescriptions of Taepyeonghyeminhwajegukbang. Conclusions : Configuration patterns of Somunsunmyungronbang and Nansilbijang are different from Taepyeonghyeminhwajegukbang. So We can prove that theory of Somunsunmyungronbang and Nansilbijang are different from Taepyeonghyeminhwajegukbang.

  • The chapter holds great importance in understanding the fundamental aspect of disease occurrence, for it contains key concepts of disease of Naegyeong medicine. For this reason, prominent doctors from Jang Gyeong-ak(張景岳) of Ming to Lee Gyujun (李奎晙) of late Josun have based their Yang Gi-centered medical theories on this chapter. However, doctors such as Ju Jinhyeong(朱震亨) who have stressed the importance of Eum, also used the contents of this chapter to support their perspective on disease, which means that the main voice of this chapter is still unclear. Based on the previous chapter, it is valid to say that uses the Eum-Yang Body-Function Perspective(陰陽體用觀) to establish the fundamentals of life and parallels the uniqueness of each kind of Gi, Eum and Yang, in leading Gi activity in mankind. This philosophy based on the uniqueness of the activity of Eum/Yang Gi expands its target from human to disease in general, becoming actualized as a theory of external/internal body-function perspective. Cultivation methods based on this uniqueness is also being suggested.

  • For the purpose of understanding Wang-bing's idea, which was influenced by Taoism and Hyeon-hak(玄學), I investigated the quotations of Taoism Books such as Jang-ja(莊子) in the Hwangje-Naegyeongsomunju(黃帝內經素問注), and came to the following conclusions. In the process of writing notes on the Hwangje-Naegyeongsomun, Wang-bing quoted Taoism Books such as Jang-Ja 10 times at 8 passeges which suggest the idea of Hyeon-hak. Through this annotating process, he suggested the vision of the Hyeon-hak idea which pursued the harmony of system and human nature. In the process of the annotating, he expressed the way of sage who practicing the caring of one's own health. And he emphasized on body and perfectly preserving of nature of oneself. Wang-bing especially emphsized on cultivating of one's mind while he insisting one's human nature. This means he pursued one's nature under the actual system, which was different from general Taoism. It was Hyeon-hak idea. So we can interpret Wang-bing as a sucessor of Hyeon-hak philosophers of Wi-Jin(魏晋) period.

  • The popular edition of "Hwangjenaegyeong somun(黄帝内經 素問)" was established by Wangbing(王冰)'s revising and annexing notes in the Dang(唐) Period. He revised "Jeonwongibon(全元起本)" which became the edition we currently know widely. To know how "Somun(素問)" had been handed down from the Su(隋) Period to the Dang(唐) Period before the establishment of Wangbing(王冰) 's edition, we reviewed the citation of "Somun" in the four books: "Ohaengdaeui(五行大義)", "Jebyeongwonhuron(諸病源候論)", "Sagijeong-ui(史記正義)", and "Oedaebiyobang(外臺秘要方)". As a result, it has been discovered that even if the reference was written as "Hwangjesomun(黄帝素問)" or "Somun(素問)", they did not correspond with the currently established "Somun(素問)" in many cases. On the other hand, there were identical sentences to the current "Somun(素問)" among the cited parts; whereas "Yeolron(熱論)" and "Jahakron(刺瘧論)" were often cited in the medical books such as "Jebyeongwonhuron(諸病源候論)" and "Oedaebiyobang(外臺秘要方)", "Yeolron(熱論)" and "Jahakron(刺瘧論)" were often cited. Thus, we can suggest that the relevant content of "Somun(素問)" should be considered important in the period in question and further that the concept of disease symptom might have changed in those days.

  • Objectives : The limited number of studies to date have mainly focused on the effect of obesity on the characteristics of plantar foot pressures. This study is designed to find the correlation between plantar pressure and obese index. Methods : This study assessed the body composition of 30 obese women using bioelectrical impidence analysis and Gaitview AFA-50. The static and dynamic plantar pressure was determined from electronic footprints captured using a capacitive pressure distribution platform during standing and walking. The data were analysed by independent t-test and Pearson Correlation. Results : Positive correlations were noted between body weight, body mass index(BMI), waist circumference(WC), waist-hip ratio(WHR) and difference of fore and rear plantar pressure. And negative correlations were noted between body weight, BMI, WC, WHR and difference of left and right plantar pressure. Conclusions : The findings of this pilot study suggest that body composition influences the waight distribution in overweight and obese subjects.
