  • Recently, the advanced condition monitoring methods such as the model-based method and the artificial intelligent method have been applied to maximize the availability as well as to minimize the maintenance cost of the aircraft gas turbines. Among them the non-linear GPA(Gas Path Analysis) method and the GA(Genetic Algorithms) have lots of advantages to diagnose the engines compared to other advanced condition monitoring methods such as the linear GPA, fuzzy logic and neural networks. Therefore this work applies both the non-linear GPA and the GA to diagnose AE3007 turbofan engine for an aircraft, and in case of having sensor noise and bias it is confirmed that the GA is better than the GPA through the comparison of two methods.

  • 자연재해 및 전력 시스템의 복잡성, 외부 노출 등으로 인해 전력 설비는 언제나 고장에 노출되어 있다. 전력회사는 전력의 안정성과 신뢰도 확보를 위해 끊임없이 노력하고 있지만 전력설비의 자그마한 이상에도 그 파급효과는 상당히 클 수 있다. 이에 선진 국가와 기업에서는 전력설비의 예방진단에 대한 많은 관심과 기술 개발이 이루어지고 있으며, 제품화되어 출시되고 있는 실정이다. (주)효성에서는 변압기 진단을 위한 센서 및 IED가 포함된 지능형 변압기(Intelligent Power Transformer)용 Local Unit을 개발하였다.

  • We consider a problem of application of analytical redundancy to engine synchronization process of spark ignition engines, which is critical to timing for every ECU process including ignition and injection. The engine synchronization process we consider here is performed using the pulse signal obtained by the revolution of crankshaft trigger wheel (CTW) coupled to crank shaft. We propose a discrete-time linear model for the signal, for which we construct FDI (Fault Detection & Isolation) system consisting residual generator and threshold based on linear observer.

  • 본 연구는 유도전동기 진단시스템을 개발하기 위하여 테스트 전동기 내부에 취부된 자속센서 신호를 사용한 알고리즘 적용 결과를 논한 것으로서 분류기별 고장 판별 정확도에 대하여 서술하였다. 특징추출은 Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA) 방법을 이용 하였으며, 테스트 샘플들에 대해서는 LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis)와 k-NN(k-Nearest neighbors) 분류기법을 이용하여 판별하였다. 회전자 바 손상이나 편심(동적/정적)인 경우는 두 가지 분류기 모두 95[%]이상의 높은 분류 정확도를 보였지만, LDA인 경우 정상상태를 비롯한 베이링 불량이나, 샤프트 변형인 경우는 낮은 분류율을 보였다.

  • In this paper, the attitude and orbit control subsystem technology of new GEO communication and observation satellite using Sun sensors are introduced and analyzed. COMS is new GEO communication and Earth observation satellite based on EUROSTAR 3000 space bus technology. The attitude and orbit control subsystem of COMS adopts a configuration using three BASS and three LIASS Sun sensors to acquire the attitude error information in the specific reference frames. These Sun sensors are used to acquire Sun direction and to control the spacecraft to keep the relative attitude with respect to a reference Sun direction in both transfer and operational orbits. In this paper, the mathematical models of BASS and LIASS are described as well as their operational implementation in the flight software.

  • This paper introduces a health monitoring system based on a wireless sensor network for weapon asset. This system can estimate the remaining lifetime and decide what should be done and when should it be done using the environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and shock for weapon assets by sensor tag. And we describes its operating scenario and routing method for this system. Finally we introduce the developments of the sensor tag, portable reader, gateway and monitoring server.

  • This article is concerned with the technology to provide car driver the car's status which are composed of car trouble code in car engine and many sensors. In addition, it installs vehicle diagnostic programs on wireless communication's portable device, for example, Smart phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC. As a result, this is to provide car manager with many information of car sensors when we go to car maintenance. it can monitor relevant information on vehicle by portable device in real time, alert drivers with specific messages and also enable them to address abnormalities immediately. Moreover, the technology could help the drivers who perhaps don't know very well about their vehicles to drive safely and economically as well; the reason is because the whole system is composed of just Vehicle-information collecting device and personal wireless communication's portables and transfers the relating data to server computers through wireless network in order to handle information on vehicles. This technology make us monitor vehicle's running, failure and disorder by using wireless communication's portable device. Finally, this study system is composed of a lot of application to display us the car's status which get car's inner sensor information while driving a car.

  • In this paper, a redundancy management system for aircraft is studied, and FDI (Fault Detection and Isolation) algorithm of inertial sensor system is proposed. UAV system cannot allow triple or quadruple hardware redundancy due to the limitations on space and weight. In the UAV system with dual sensors, it is very difficult to identify the faulty sensor. Also, conventional FDI method cannot isolate multiple faults in a triple redundancy system. In this paper, hardware based FDI technique is proposed, which combines a parity equation approach with the wavelet based technique, which is a model-free FDI method. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed FDI method, numerical simulations are performed.

  • We present a novel fault diagnosis methodology using acoustic sensor systems and neural independent component analysis for large-scaled power machines. Acoustic sensors are carried out to measure sounds generated from power machines whose signal is used to determine whether fault is occurred or not. Acoustic measurements are independently mixed and deteriorated from original source signals. We propose a demixing algorithm against such mixed signals by means of independent component analysis which is achieved based on information theory and higher-order statistics to derive learning mechanism.

  • This paper proposes the design and performance evaluation of a marine engine fault detection system using a proximity sensor for marine engine. Non-linearity is greatly reduced by using the sensor without increasing the response time by applying the CANopen protocol. The CANopen protocol enables the sensor to send initial values and measurement data. The marine engine fault detection system measures crankshaft deflection and the bottom dead center of the crosshead in real-time, which maintains stability and prevents the serious breakdown of the marine engine by use of an interlocking alarm monitoring system.
