Generational contracts are specified into public pensions based on generational solidarity. The Korean National Pension has been reformed with a focus on generational equity with a narrow meaning related to contribution rate and benefit level. As a result, the Korean National Pension has only emphasized generational equity and not contributed to generational solidarity. We investigate changes in the content of the generational contract and propose to reconstruct generational contract to contribute to solidarity with a more comprehensive perspective. A new social contract by reformed pension system should not concentrate on narrowed generational equity. It should be reconstructed in the direction of enhancing efficacy and the stability of generational solidarity with an emphasis on social sustainability. Investment into the next generation would be one of many policy measures to decrease conflicts around intergenerational redistribution and improve the financial stability of the public pension by creating population structure and labor market changes.

Intergenerational relations in Korea show very unique characteristics. In political arena, young and old generations clash each other intensely, while they maintain a high level of intergenerational solidarity in policy realm. A logistic regression analysis reveals that generational cleavage plays a key role in affecting voting decision and evaluation of governmental performance. It also suggests that in policy realm, normative, functional, and affectional types of solidarity influence people's attitudes on social policies very strongly. If the current government continues to neglect its promises for expanding welfare, the dual structure of generational cleavage in political arena and intergenerational solidarity in social policy realm can soon be turned into a conflictual structure. Therefore, an active initiative to increase intergenerational justice should be taken in order to attain a long-term, sustainable intergenerational solidarity and coexistence.

This study is conducted to provide empirical evidences which support that the problems of social isolation and loneliness of elderly can be alleviated by intervening the inter-generational relationship of the elderly by means of active ageing policy. The major empirical challenge to address this question is the possibility of selection bias caused by reversed causal relationship. To address this challenge, I constructed comparison group with 'Eligible Non-Participants' (ENP), and used instrumental variable method to estimate the empirical model. My findings indicate that inter-generational relationship, both in the aspects of economical solidarity and associational solidarity, is significantly improved as time use pattern of the elderly becomes more active. The improvement effect is intensively observed for the group of elderly who do not live with their adult children. The important policy implication of these findings is that the improvement of inter-generational relationship can be added as a new benefit of active ageing policy.

키케로는 ‘역사는 지나간 시간을 입증하는 목격자다. 즉 역사를 통해 현실을 밝아지고 추억은 생명력을 얻고 일상사의 지침을 제공받으며 태고의 소식들을 전해 받는다’고 했다. 또한 ‘역사는 현재와의 끝임 없는 대화’라고 한 역사가도 있고, ‘역사는 끊임없는 도전과 응전’의 과정이라고 말한 역사가도 있다. 그리고 크로체는 ‘모든 역사는 현대사일 뿐’이라고 했다. 어찌되었든 역사를 모르는 사람이나 민족은 오늘이라고 하는 현실이나 미래를 열어 가는데 있어 바른 방향이나 방법을 제대로 찾기 어렵다는 생각하는 것이 보편적이다. 특히 우리나라에서는 뿌리가 얼마나 중요한가. 자기의 역사를 제대로 아는 것, 그것이 오늘날을 잘 살아가기 위한 첫 번째 조건일 지도 모르겠다. 우리도서관계는 어떨까? 요즘과 같이 세대간의 단절이 점점 심화되는 상황에서 한 도서관 내에서도 직원들 간에 세대 차이를 느끼지 않을 수 없을 것이고, 그러한 세대 차이는 결국 도서관 운영의 합리성이나 직원들간 연대를 저해하는 요소가 될 수 있다. 따라서 세대간 대화의 촉진은 이제 조직의 구성과 운용에 중요한 과제가 되고 있다. 그래서 우리 ‘도서관문화’는 이번 월간으로 전환하는 시점에 지난 한 세대 전 우리 도서관계는 어떠했는지를 되짚어보는 지면을 마련했다. 30년 전후의 도서관 사정을 되짚어보는 것은 그 때의 사정과 정신을 오늘에 되살려, 오늘을 살아가는 우리에게 삶의 지침이 되기를 바라며, 나아가 새로운 미래를 열어 가는데 필요한 정신적 근거를 찾아보고자 한다.

이 논문의 목적은 현재 40-50대의 중년층과 노부모 사이에 이루어지는 세대관계의 심층적 구조를 밝히고, 이 구조에 영향을 미치는 제반요인들을 설명하는데 있다. 그리고 세대관계의 유형에 따라 중년층 자신의 노후부양태도와 노후생활에 대한 대책행위가 어떻게 달라지는가를 분석하였다. 이 연구를 위해 구조화된 질문지를 활용하는 전국전인 면접조사가 이루어졌다. 이 논문은 중년층과 노부모의 세대관계를 세대간 근접성, 지원가능, 그리고 노부모 부양관 에 따라 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류하였다. 중년층의 지배적인 세대관계는 노부모와 별거하면서 지원기능을 유지하는 형태로 나타났다. 별거사항에서 이루어지는 지원관계에는 중년층의 사회 계층적 지위나 노부모와의 정서적 연대와 관련된 요인들이 중요하게 작용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 중년층 자신의 노후생활에 대한 부양관과 노후대책 행위는 세대관계의 유형에 따라 유의미한 차이가 존재한다. 근접성, 지원관계, 노부모 부양관 모두에서 전통적인 세대관계를 유지하는 중년층은 자신의 노후생활에 대해서도 가족의 부양을 강조하며, 독립적인 노후대책을 마련하는데 소극적이다. 반면, 노부모와 동거하고 지원기능을 유지하더라도 노부모부양관이 약한 증년층은, 자신의 노후 생활에 대하여 독립성을 강조하고, 스스로 노후대책을 마련하는데 적극적인 것으로 확인되었다.

Nuclear forensics is an essential part of nuclear material control and nuclear non-proliferation verification. Radiochronometry for nuclear forensics is used to estimate the timing of refinement and production of nuclear materials based on decay chain characteristics and the Bateman equation. The results of radiochronometry have uncertainties because the decay constant and number of nuclides are statistics derived from analyses or repeated experiments and involve uncertainties. The aim of this study was to develop an uncertainty calculation algorithm by performing computational simulation to overcome the limitations of the existing uncertainty calculation method for radiochronometry based on the Bateman equation. The results of the proposed uncertainty calculation algorithm were comparable to those of the existing method. The algorithm allowed for more than two generations of uncertainty calculations and mitigated the underestimation of the decay constant during the uncertainty calculation.

This study aims to explore the direction of Christian public practice in the post-COVID era, seeking to overcome the uncanny feeling caused by increased division and exclusion during the pandemic period. Firstly, we will investigate the unequal impact of COVID-19 on the labor market and examine ways to achieve economic justice in the post-COVID era. Subsequently, we will deliberate the role of Christianity in establishing publicness in the digital world and virtual spaces. Finally, viewing COVID-19 as a catastrophe caused by an anthropocentric worldview and exploitation driven by greed, we will explore the tasks of Christianity to overcome the crisis of the Anthropocene. Christian public practice should fulfill its mission of care and stewardship not only in social context but also in an ecological dimension. The author proposes "planetary citizenship education" for a harmonious relationship between human species and the Earth they inhabit.

The era we are living in is an era of hyperconnectivity where boundaries and limitations of each field and domain disappear and organically converge and share with each other. Christians living in the age of hyperconnectivity are losing their direction of life due to various divisions and severances, such as holiness and secularity, church and world, soul and body, faith and life, and humans and nature. However, in a hyperconnected society, it is necessary to break free from division and conflict caused by disconnection, and realize the kingdom of God through connection and solidarity between humans, nature, and the world. In order to explore the direction of Christian education for this purpose, this study examined the characteristics of the era of hyperconnectivity and the principle of solidarity, which is the core of hyperconnectivity. The theological meaning of solidarity was examined in terms of humans, nature, and the world, and based on this understanding, the direction of Christian education in the era of hyperconnectivity was sought. It can be summarized as having a religious understanding of human beings of Homoconnectus with a pericoretic mode of existence. Third, education on the kingdom of justice and peace where we can live together in a solidarity relationship can be summarized.
