차세대 네트워크의 출현으로 다양한 형태의 통신망 들 간의 융합이 중요해졌다. 무선 망의 경우 이질적인 망들 간의 통합 및 융합이 이루어지기 위해서는 끊김 없는 이동성 지원이 매우 중요하다. 끊김 없는 이동성 지원은 이질적인 무선망 간의 이동시에도 지속적으로 세션을 유지하는 기능을 말한다. 이러한 기능을 핸드오프 기법이라 하며 현재 다양한 연구가 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 제안되어 있는 핸드오프 기법 중 USHA(Universal Seamless Handoff Architecture)를 기반으로 하여 적용하기 쉬우며 확장성과 신뢰성을 보장하는 핸드오프 모델을 제안한다.

3세대 이동통신 망에서는 릴레이 노드를 이용한 셀룰러 망과 애드혹 망의 통합을 통해 셀의 용량 및 셀 커버리지의 증가와 인접 셀 간의 부하 밸런싱 효과를 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 이종 무선 통합 망 환경에서 QoS를 제공하기 위해서는 이종 망 간에 데이터 전송 시 서로 다른 망 간의 네트워크 용량을 고려하여 데이터 릴레이 및 QoS 레벨을 일치시켜 줄 수 있는 릴레이 노드의 중계 역할이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 과금 서비스에 기반한 보상금과 수익금 제도를 통하여 애드혹 노드와 셀 기지국 간의 데이터 릴레이 기능 및 QoS를 제공하는 협상 에이전트 기법을 제안하며 ns-2 기반 UMTS/WLAN 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 성능을 분석한다.

본 글은 1999년 5월 CASA/SME Blue Book에 Jim Jordan 그리고 Fred Michel이 “Next Generation Manufacturing”라는 제목으로 게재한 자료를 편자의 의도에 따라 재편집한 것입니다. CASA(Computer and Automated Systems Association)는 SME(Society of Manufacturing Engineers)에서 활동하고 있는 하나의 분과로서 CIM Enterprise Wheel을 만들어 내 유명한 곳이기도 합니다. 저자는 본 괌에서 앞으로 10여 년 간 펼쳐질 차세대 제조 시스템에서는 지식의 경영이 가장 중요한 요소라고 정의하고 있습니다. 그리고 차세대 제조 시스템의 운영전략으로는 기업통합, 인간자원의 지적이용, 지식의 개발 및 유지, NGM 프로세스 장비 및 기술의 채용을 들고 있습니다. 차세대 제조 시스템(1)은 전월호에서 소재되었습니다.

The purpose of this study was to examine whether the intergenerational program affected the children's perceptions on the elderly and aging. This study also investigated how the children evaluated the program. The study methods was one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 30 elementary school children from 1st to 3rd grade. The intergenerational program was composed of 6 activities: recreation activity for rapport, making a kite, gardening, learning old customs, education of traditional manner, and making rice-cakes. It was executed for two weeks. Data for children's perceptions on the elderly and aging were collected by the interview using questionnaire at pretest-posttest. The results of the qualitative data analysis showed that the children's perception on the elderly and aging changed more positively after the program. There were significant differences between pre- and post-test on the children's perceptions of aging and intellectual aspects of the elderly. Most of the children evaluated the program very positively.

이질적인 어플리케이션간의 통합문제로 등장한 웹 서비스가 차세대 e-비즈니스의 기반으로 크게 성장하고 있다. 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고, 어떠한 시스템에도 독립적일 수 있도록 통합 서비스 환경을 제공함으로써, 사용자의 다양한 요구에 부응할 수 있는 웹 서비스가 기업 내 또는 기업 간 통합 서비스의 장애요인을 해결할 수 있는 새로운 대안으로 부상하고 있다. 하지만 현재의 웹 서비스는 단순한 웹 서비스 지원만이 가능할 뿐 개인화 된 맞춤 서비스 합성이 용이하지 않다. 또한 의미 기반의 웹 서비스 검색 지원이 안되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 I-Gennine Portal Engine을 통해 의미 기반의 웹 서비스 검색과 합성을 지원하는 사용자 중심의 맞춤형 웹 서비스 포털 에이젼트 시스템을 제안하고자 한다

The ultimate purpose of cities is 'the enhancement of quality of life in city'. In order to achieve this, it is required to optimize the Ontology-driven ubiquitous services included in the U-City and UIS of regions and communities and so on. Almost U-Service's contents are related to spatial or temporal extent. So it is important to design Spatio-temporal event schema for efficient access to U-City. There is a rapid change into an urban society in the shape of Ontology-driven ubiquitous services in which a content on a region or an incident is newly reconstructed through various ideas with the influence of the ubiquitous environment.

As the increasing of users' request about internet web service, the importance of ontology to construct semantic web is increasing now. Early Internet data processing was studied in the form of data integration through centralized ontology construction. However, because of distributed environment of internet, when integrating data of distributed site, it is required to integrate data of each site in terms of peer-to-peer data processing for corresponding to fast change of internet. In this paper, in distributed environment, we propose data processing method which construct ontology in each site with ontology language OWL. Furthermore, through relational representation of OWL, we propose the system containing distributed query processing for data constructed in different site with different method.

인터넷/웹 비즈니스의 확산과 더불어, 기업간(B2B) 거래 처리에도 혁명적인 변화가 일어나고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 변화의 이면에는 해결해야 할 많은 기술적인 제약이 내포되어 있다. 무엇보다도, 전자적인 기업간 거래처리를 위해서는 컴퓨터 시스템간에 구조화된 정보를 교환할 수 있도록 공통의 언어가 제공되어야 한다. 이런 공동의 민어에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 UN/CEFACT와 OASIS에서는 XML(extensible Markup Language)을 기반으로 한 ebXML(electronic business XML)을 차세대 e-비즈니스의 표준으로 제정하고 공동 개발하기로 함에 따라 전서계 단일 전자상거래시장 구축이 XML기반으로 이루어 질 수 있게 되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ebXML 도큐먼트 편집을 위해 XML을 기반으로 한 e-business 문서 생성을 위한 XML 편집기, XML DTD 생성기, XML Schema를 작성하기 위한 Schema 편집기 등의 통합 ebXML문서 편집 시스템을 설계 및 구현 하였다.

Increase of data traffic and the advent of new real-time services require to change from the traditional TDM-based (Time Division Multiplexing) networks to the optical networks that soft and dynamic configuration. Voice and lease line services are main service area of the traditional TDM-based networks. This optical network became main infrastructure that offer many channel that can convey data, video, and voice. To provide high resilience against failures, Packet-optical networks must have an ability to maintain an acceptable level of service during network failures. Fast and resource optimized lightpath restoration strategies are urgent requirements for the near future Packet-optical networks with a Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching(GMPLS) control plane. The goal of this paper is to provide packet-optical network with a hierarchical multi-layer recovery in order to fast and coordinated restoration in packet-optical network/GMPLS, focusing on new implementation information. The proposed schemes do not need an extension of optical network signaling (routing) protocols for support.

차세대 통신망 기술은 개별망에서 단일망인 광대역통합망으로 발전되어 가고 있는 추세이며, 향후 유. 무선 통합 및 방송. 통신 융합이 가능한 IP 기반의 멀티네트워크로 통합될 것이다. 본 고에서는 우리나라가 주도하고 있는 국내, 국제 연구망과 해외 여러 나라들이 추진하고 있는 연구개발망에 대해 살펴보고 첨단 연구개발망을 활용하여 연구개발하고 있는 주요 사항들 즉, IPv6, Measurement, Multicasting, VoIP 같은 네트워킹 기술과 바이오, 나노, 의료, 기상, 교육, 환경 연구 등 과학기술 전반에 걸쳐 6T를 포괄하는 첨단기술을 연구하는 연구개발망에 대한 동향 분석과 IT 분야의 핵심기술과 인프라 제공을 위한 BcN 기반의 연구시험망 구축 방안에 대해 살펴본다. 이러한 첨단 연구개발망은 지속적인 성장과 글로벌시대의 고부가가치 창출을 위한 차세대 연구망으로 미래 선도기술을 배양하는 역할을 수행하는 핵심기술개발과 상용화와 연구개발 기술간의 격차를 줄임으로써 개발기간의 단축과 가격경쟁력을 향상시킬 것으로 사료된다.
