The purpose of current study is to investigate university students' attitudes toward prostitutes and factors affecting their attitudes. Based on previous research, age, grade, major, gender, religion, religious faith, watching pornography, prostitution experience, empathy level, anti-prostitution/anti-rape /human right education and gender equality level were constructed as independent variables. Using self-administered survey method, 502 students participated in survey. Research results indicated that average of respondents' attitudes toward prostitutes 4.19 was higher than median value(3). Results of multiple regression revealed that a male student, a social welfare and theology major student, a respondent with lower social-economic status, a respondent with higher level of empathy, and gender equality is more likely to demonstrate more supportive and positive attitude toward prostitute. Based on research results, developing programs aimed at enhancing empathy and gender equality, and implementing character education and prostitution/sexual violence prevention program were provided as policy implications.

서울 관악구 모텔에서 14세의 가출청소년이 온라인 채팅을 통하여 성매매를 한 후 성매수남에 의하여 목 졸려 숨진 채로 발견되는 사건이 있었다. 본 논문은 이 사건에 착안하여 온라인 상 무방비하게 노출되어 있는 청소년 성매매에 대해 알아보고 현재 시행되고 있는 정부 방침으로 스마트폰 랜덤채팅 앱에 경고 문구 게시 의무화와 성매매 청소년 구호활동의 일환인 사이버 아웃리치에 대해 살펴보고 온라인 성매매의 규제방안에 대해 보완할 점을 모색하였다.

This study used 286 men living without a spouse in the regions of Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam and Chungbuk to review the effects that expressive sexual coping behavior have on the prostitution attitude. During this process, the moderating effect of the factor, 'perception of crime deterrence', was verified. The data were analyzed using PASW Statistics 18.0.Major findings are as follows; First, the attitude towards prostitution found in study subjects was higher than average, showing that they had a positive perception. Second, factors affecting the attitude towards prostitution were identified to be education level, health status, employment status, social participation, sexual coping behavior, official and unofficial deterrence as part of crime deterrence. Third, official deterrence as part of crime deterrents appeared to have a moderating effect in the relation between sexual coping behavior and prostitution attitude. Based on these findings, the study presents practical measures to deter prostitution of spouseless men.

This is the second research to explore the actual condition of the old women prostitutes serving the old men (so-called 'Bacchus Azumma') in qualitative method. For this, 14 old women prostitutes, aged 38~73, were interviewed as research participants: 9 are korean and 4 are korean-chinese and 1 is chinese. The data obtained through the depth interviews were analyzed using a qualitative analytic method. As a result, three types according to the purpose of approach (heavy petting-intent type, intercourse-intent type, and criminal-intent type) and two types according to occupation or not (full-time type and part-time type) are found. The social concerns and measures on Bacchus Azumma are needed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine how sex workers perceive the current STD examination service and how the perceptions are related with sex workers' intention to use the service. Methods: The data for this study came from a survey among sex workers who had an experience of using STD examination service provided by local public health centers. Sex workers' perceptions to STD examination service and their intention to use the service were measured with multiple items adapted from the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ) developed by Ware and his colleagues. Results: Most sex workers are satisfied with the current STD examination service provided by local public health centers and they have a strong intention to use the service. In predicting general satisfaction and intention to use STD examination service, few socioeconomic variables play a significant role. Among specific dimensions of STD test service, technical quality and accessibility of the service affect both general satisfaction and intention to use the service in a positive direction. The most important determinant of sex workers' intention to use STD examination service is their general satisfaction with the service. Conclusion: With the existing laws that still officially justify STD examination programs, the demand and need for STD examination service by sex workers further the current STD examination programs. Health authorities which aim at health maintenance, health promotion and health protection for the people, thus, need to continue their STD control programs actively and effectively regardless of the Special Law on Sex Trade.

This study investigated the characteristics of obsessive behaviors in romantic relationship of 42 female sex workers and the effect of traumatic experiences on them. Research results that there was no significant difference in loneliness, jealousy, over sensitiveness between the female sex workers group and the controls. But fear of rejection and doubt in the romantic relationship are significantly higher in the female sex workers group than in the controls. Among the subscales, childhood neglect and family secret were most frequently associated with the various obsessive behaviors. This is also the case for the control group, with family secret and physical abuse being the most. Finally, in regression analysis, in the control group, childhood physical abuse had the biggest impact on the obsessive behaviors in romantic relationship. On the other hand, the target group, childhood neglect had the biggest impact on the obsessive behaviors in romantic relationship.

The purpose of this study was to analyze an experience of sexual traffic victims and contribute for its formation of theory based on the results. A method of study was performed by using grounded theory method of Strauss and Corbin(1988). Through the results of study, one hundred and five concepts and thirty five subcategories and seventeen categories were deducted. 'destroy of mind and body' from the central phenomenon. The core category of experience of escaping from prostitution was presented by 'return of ordinary life recovered from destroy of life 'and the process of escaping from prostitution was presented in order of 'destroy of mind and body step', 'abandonment step', 'recovery of will step', 'challenge of adaption of ordianry life step'. In the study, it followed that an independent their own will of a sexually exploited women play an important role for a successful escaping from prostitution.

This study aims to identify effective ways to prevent sexually transmitted diseases among sex workers as well as the general public in Korea by examining the case of Thailand, regarded as a model internationally in reducing prevalence rate of sexually transmitted diseases, under the circumstances in which the implementation of the new anti-sex-trade law causes confusion over the existing sexually transmitted disease control program. For the purpose, the study firstly assesses the anti-sex-trade law which has engendered recent debates over the relationship between sex trade and sexually transmitted diseases, and reviews a change of the sexually transmitted disease control system made by the anti-sex-trade law. The Thai case is explored with some special emphasis on relationship between socio-cultural, political and economic factors and sexually transmitted disease control policies. Comparing to the Thai case, the study proposes some suggestions to make the existing sexually transmitted disease control program more effective under the new anti-sex-trade law.

최근 들어 인터넷이 매개가 된 청소년 성범죄가 급증하고 있다. 또한 원조교제라고 불린 청소년성매매 행위는 수법이 교묘해지고 수위도 한층 높아지고 있다. 이에 청소년성매매라는 범죄자들의 개인정보 공개에 대해 법적인 근거와 국내 및 해외 사례를 통해 살펴보고자 한다. 필자는 직접적인 언급은 않지만 문맥상 범죄자라도 개인정보의 공개는 신중을 기할 필요가 있음을 암시하고 있다.

This study focuses on Korean independent documentary Unnie dealing with prostitution in Korean society. Not only does it discuss profuse discourse about Unnie such as politics of the film, Korean independent documentary as a tool of struggle, an organized narrative for anti-prostitution and social power of the film but also it deals with prostitution matters related with the film such as prostitute rights, anti-prostitution and pro-prostitution. And it diagnoses possibilities of modifying audiences' recognition and participatory spectatorship with Unnie, conducting a survey of 202 undergraduates.
