Effects of Drivers' Personality on Habitual Traffic Crashes Through the Truncated Poisson Model (절단 포아송 모형을 이용한 상습적 교통사고 유발자의 성격 특성이 교통사고에 미치는 영향)

  • The number of traffic accidents has been decreased since 2000; however, the downward trend of crash occurrence has been slower after 2006. A few decades ago, physical improvement projects such as alignment improvement and the installation of safety facilities were usually implemented to decrease the occurrence of traffic accidents, but the effects of physical improvement on safety have been gradually decreased. The main objective of this study is to identify how the drivers' characteristics affect and/or are related to traffic accidents. Most of previous works have focused on revealing the difference of the nature of the drivers between the drivers who have no experience and the drivers with experience of traffic accidents. This study tries to analyze the habitual accidents proneness through a survey of drivers' personalities for drivers who were involved in traffic accidents at least once. As a result, nine personality factors were found to be statistically significant: Neuroticism(N), Lie(L), Psychoticism* Neuroticism(PN), Psychoticism*Lie(PL), Extraversion*Lie(EL), Neuroticism*Lie(NL), Impulsiveness(IMP), Venturesomeness(VEN), Empathy(EMP). Among these factors, single character factors were found to increase accidents, whereas complex factors were found to decrease the occurrence of accidents.

Experimental Validation of Butler's MBTI-based Gamification Framework (버틀러의 MBTI기반 게이미피케이션 프레임워크에 대한 실험적 검증)

  • Various tools and studies improving quality of gamification systems have been suggested. Among those tools and studies, Butler suggested the gamification framework, which shows the preference of different game mechanics, applying particular motivational and behavioral tendencies in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI). The purpose of this paper is to validate if the preference of different game mechanics by MBTI personality types proposed by Butler would be existing. This study pointed out the problem of suggested gamification framework from butler through literature survey. Also, this study conducted statistical analyzation and survey to prove correlation between MBTI personality types and game mechanics. Through an experiment and analysis, this study proved that there is no correlation between MBTI personality types and preference of different game mechanics. The designer of gamification systems should consider that it is not effective to apply differential game mechanics by MBTI personality types. If need to design a gamification system, designer must consider game mechanics's characteristics in applied environmental condition.

The Relationship between Personality Trait of Venture CEO and Corporate Strategy (벤처기업 최고경영자의 성격특성과 경영전략간의 관계)

  • This study integrates personality trait theory to empirically Investigate the corporate strategy in Korean venture firms. This study predicts that type A/B, locus of control(internal/external), and risk-taking/avoiding will be positively associated with corporate strategy selection. Corporate strategy selection consists of aggressive entry strategy and defensive niche market strategy. Data obtained from a survey of 87 venture business firms is used to construct final variable measures and test the hypothesized relationships. The statistical result shows that type A, internal, and risk-taking CEOs positively associated with aggressive entry strategy, and type B, external, and risk-avoiding CEOs positively associated with defensive niche market strategy. Additional analysis(multiple regression model) to test relatively importance of independents is used.

  • 협업필터링 방법은 가장 일반적으로 사용되는 추천 시스템이다. 그런데 협업필터링 방법은 희박성, 확장성 그리고 투명성 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개인 성향 중 장르, 성격, 나이, 성별, 혈액형, 지역 등을 고려하여 희박성 문제를 개선한 영화 추천 시스템을 제시한다. 즉, 개인 성향 정보에 따라 가장 성향이 비슷한 사용자들을 분류하고, 그 분류된 정보를 이용하여 개인에게 가장 적합한 개선된 영화추천 기법을 제안한다.

  • 현재 일상생활에서 성격유형검사 도구 MBTI를 이용하는 사람들이 점점 늘어나고 있다. MBTI는 에너지 방향, 인식 기능, 판단 기능, 생활 양식을 기준으로 결과를 도출하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 MBTI 요소중 에너지 방향인 외향형(E)과 내향형(I)의 게임 성향에 대한 설문 조사 및 분석을 진행하여, 그 결과를 바탕으로 외향적 성향을 가진 사람들과 내향적 성향을 가진 사람들에 대한 게임 기획 또는 마케팅의 방향성을 제시한다.

Temperament and Character Dimensions in Female Patients with Fibromyalgia (여성 섬유근육통 환자의 기질 및 성격 특질)

  • Objectives: previous studies have suggested the possible predisposing personality in fibromyalgia(FM). The aim of this study is to investigate the personality traits in female patients with FM compared to healthy female controls using the Temperament and Character Inventory(TCI) and furthermore, to evaluate the personality traits affecting the severity of the symptoms of FM. Methods Forty female patients with FM and 40 healthy female controls were examined using the TCI and the Hamilton depression rating scale. The FM patients were also evaluated the severity of the symptoms of FM using the fibromyalgia impact questionnaire(FIQ). Results : ANCOVA with age and depression levels as covariates showed that the FM patients scored significantly higher on the harm avoidance(F=2.187, p=0.047) and lower on the self-directedness(F=4.551, p=0.036) than the healthy controls. The FIQ scores showed positive correlation with the harm avoidance scores in the FM patients when adjusting for age and depression level(R=0.399, p=0.013) Multiple linear regression models revealed that the harm avoidance scores would affect the FIQ scores in FM patients(95% Cl=0.004-1.942, p=0.049). Conclusions : These results suggest that the female FM patients have distinctive temperament and character dimensions compared to the healthy female controls. Moreover, the harm avoidance may be the predictive personality to affect the severity of the symptoms of female FM patients.

  • Difference of individual character is defined Cerebral Hemispheric Model(CHM) to develop individual intellectual abilities in this paper. Component of preferred online-game is surveyed in accordance with individual character, and investigated for possible applications. An individual is classified with 2 modes of CHM that take charge of intellectual abilities; abilities is character, taste, personality decision-making and behavior patterns; that is closely related to creativity. Difference of game component could be investigated with correlation table of cerebral preference patterns (CPP) that was drawn up with survey. Individual brain preferences (IBP) became clear through preference of individual in the investigation, and suggested concept guide-line to develop other brain preferences. Thus, this study is able to realize from education game to a great variety of contents that base on the development of thinking-faculties as optimization of user preference, can be the basic data of self-development, to improve intellectual faculties as development of individual thinking preference.

  • This paper analyzes patterns of various characters in an animation story. Animation characters are the important element in a story. They reflect social facts and work an element showing internal aspects of human-beings. At first we need enough scientific basis to understand the development of these characters. Therefore, this paper analyzes the characters of 19 Disney animation on the basis of character disorder in abnormal psychoanalysis and establishes database of animation characters. This database can be a help to the develoment of new characters. Also, I think that characters inclination can be applied to fostering Emotion and education of animation audiences.

Factors in Discriminating SNS Users in Korea (SNS 이용 특성에 따른 집단 판별 요인에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • This research intends to find factors to analyze users, non-users, and the relation between how many sites people use and the users' tendencies, in regards of social network services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Cyworld. The major results are as follows: firstly, the user group seems to be composed of people who are younger, have higher self-efficacy, and use smartphones, compared to the non-user group. Secondly, a single-site user group has lower motivation of 'expert search and expression' and a lower degree of personal tendency of innovation (novelty seeking and self-efficacy), compared to multiple-site user group. Thirdly, foreign SNS user groups have a higher degree of personal tendency of innovation and motivation of 'experts search and expression' than the Cyworld user group. On the other hand, the Cyworld user group seems to be affected by reference group in their use, while they have high motivation of 'connection'. In conclusion, there were significant relationships between personality and multiple SNS uses. Also, Cyworld users tended to use it for maintaining established relationships.

  • 사람들은 다양한 매체를 통하여 음악을 청취하고 있으며, 느낌별, 장르별, 연령별, 날씨별, 시간별, 장소별, 상황별, 직업별, 악기별, 템포별 등으로 다양한 분류 방법으로 음악을 제공받고 있다. 이는 음악을 분류하는 방법들이 음악 자체에 대한 분석이나 음악을 듣는 환경에 대한 분류로만 제공되고 있기 때문이다. 같은 상황, 환경이라도 개인에 따라서 같은 음악을 듣더라도 다른 감정의 상태를 나타내기 때문에, 개인을 고려한 분류 방법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 인간의 성격을 통해 감정의 표현 방식에 차이가 있다는 면을 초점으로 접근하였다. 감정이 미치는 심전도에 미치는 영향과 음악이 신체와 감정에 미치는 영향들을 통해 심전도를 이용하여 개인의 성향에 따른 음원자극에 대한 반응 차이를 통해 개인의 성향이 반영된 분류 방법을 제시하고자 했다.
