The objective of this study was to estimate rice yield in Korea using satellite and meteorological data such as sunshine hours or solar radiation, and rainfall. Terra and Aqua MODIS (The MOderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) products; MOD13 and MYD13 for NDVI and EVI, MOD15 and MYD15 for LAI, respectively from a NASA web site were used. Relations of NDVI, EVI, and LAI obtained in July and August from 2000 to 2011 with rice yield were investigated to find informative days for rice yield estimation. Weather data of rainfall and sunshine hours (climate data 1) or solar radiation (climate data 2) were selected to correlate rice yield. Aqua NDVI at DOY 233 was chosen to represent maximum vegetative growth of rice canopy. Sunshine hours and solar radiation during rice ripening stage were selected to represent climate condition. Multiple regression based on MODIS NDVI and sunshine hours or solar radiation were conducted to estimate rice yields in Korea. The results showed rice yield of $494.6kg\;10a^{-1}$ and $509.7kg\;10a^{-1}$ in 2011, respectively and the difference from statistics were $1.1kg\;10a^{-1}$ and $14.1kg\;10a^{-1}$, respectively. Rice yield distributions from 2002 to 2011 were presented to show spatial variability in the country.

In this study, we analyzed the vulnerable areas of non-point source pollutants and management pollutants and management time by subwatershed curves in the Seohwacheon basin located upstream of Daecheongho. First, in order to create a load duration curve, a long-term flow model SWAT was constructed to create a flow duration curve, and the result was multiplied by the target water quality to create a load duration curve. For the target water quality, monitoring data values measured from November 2017 were used for the management of nonpoint source pollutants in Seohwacheon, and a value corresponding to 60 percentile of the measured data was set as the target water quality. At this time, the target water quality was limited to"slightly good"(II) when the calculated value exceeded"slightly good"(II) of the river living environment standard. The vulnerable areas of non-point source of pollution were selected using the excess rate exceeding the target water quality, and the excess pollutant was judged as a management substance and the management time was selected through seasonal evaluation.
This study was performed to investigate the location of the ideal bracket positioning plane in lingual orthodontics using the three-dimensional finite element method. Displacement of the anterior teeth were evaluated according to the vertical and the angular movements of the bracket positioning plane. To achieve the ideal movement of anterior teeth in the lingual central plane, the location of the force application point and the amount of the moment applied to the four incisors were evaluated. As the bracket positioning plane was moved parallel toward the incisal edge, uncontrolled tipping and extrusion of the maxillary and the mandibular incisors were increased. But lingual tipping of the crown was decreased in the maxillary and the mandibular canines. As the bracket positioning plane was inclined toward the incisal edge, lingual tipping was increased in the 6 anterior teeth and extrusion of incisors and intrusion of the canine was also increased. As the retraction hook of the canine bracket was elongated, lingual tipping and extrusion of the central incisor and mesial movement and extrusion of the lateral incisor were increased. In the canine, mesial and labial movements of the crown were increased. When the moment was applied to the 4 incisors of the maxillary and the mandibular arch in the lingual central plane, 280 gf-mm in the maxillary central incisor, 500 gf-mm in the maxillary lateral incisor, 170 gf-mm in the mandibular central incisor and 370 gf-mm in the mandibular lateral incisor produced bodily movement of the individual tooth.
Cholesterol supersaturation in bile, which causes gallstone formation, is the result of low bile acid secretion or high cholesterol secretion. The quantitative analysis of cholesterol, bile acids and sterols which are precursors of cholesterol have been used to examine the changes in bile component. We described a simple, sensitive and reproducible method for simultaneous determination of cholesterol, five bile acids and seven sterols in human bile juices and gallstones by capillary column gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Clinical samples were hydrolyzed by alcoholic KOH, extracted twice (pH 14 and 1) and derivatized to trimethylsilyl (TMS) ether with $MSTFA/NH_4I$ (N-methyl-N-trimethylsilyltrifluoroacetamide/ammonium iodide) mixture in order to be detected on the GC/MS. The good quality control data were obtained through within-a-day and day-to-day test (RSD values were 1.72-13.79, 0.68-14.10, respectively) and the recovery range of them was 73.56-96. 95 Using this method, biliary and gallstone compositions in the patients with intrahepatic stones were analyzed. The amounts and its relative distribution of cholesterol, bile acids and sterols showed different pattern in bile juices and gallstones.
This study is conducted to clarify when a person faces an ethical dilemma in business situation, what affects on individual ethical decision-making(from ethical judgments to behavioral intention, nonethical behaviors) in the organizational context. especially, the present study examined the direct and indirect effects of love of money, individuals' perceptions of work climate, perceptions of organizational justice on their ethical judgments and behavioral intentions regarding an ethical dilemma. The subjects of the research were Pusan National University business school enrolled students(n=160). The research was substantiated through statistical analysis of credibility and validity, correlation, variance, and moderated regression analysis. The results indicated that, although perceived ethical climate dimensions did not have a direct effect on behavioral intentions, but had a direct effect on nonethical behaviors. Climates perceived as egoistic were significant moderating effects. and love of money had a direct effect on behavioral intention. Perceptions of organizational justice had a direct effect on behavioral intentions. Especially, interactional justice had a strong influence on ethical behavioral intentions than distributive justice and procedural justice. In depth discussion implications, limitations, and future research directions were supplied.

A variety of Y-STR analysis kits have been developed and used in the forensic field. Prior to the forensic application of a new kit, laboratory validation and sensitivity tests are essential processes in selecting suitable alternatives and for assuring that standard operating procedures are followed. In this paper, we have performed a sensitivity study of a new commercial kit, the Yfiler® PLUS PCR Amplification Kit (Yfiler plus kit, released in 2014) by comparing it with the AmpF/STR® YfilerTM PCR Amplification Kit (Yfiler kit, released in 2004). The Yfiler plus kit includes the 17 Y-STR loci of the Yfiler kit and has been supplemented with 10 new Y-STR loci. First, we analyzed the sensitivity difference between the two kits using commercial control DNA 2800M and 007. In addition, we compared the detection rate between the two kits from the 16 selected forensic casework samples of less than 0.5 ng concentrations. The results show that the sensitivity and detection rate of the Yfiler plus kit are higher than the corresponding rates of the Yfiler kit. In addition, we were able to obtain more Y-STR profiles with the use of the new kit. Thus, we suggest that Yfiler plus kit is a more effective forensic tool to detect Y-STR profiles from forensic casework samples of low concentrations.
An investigation of grain size, organic compounds and metal distribution in 23 sediment samples of the Geum-River basin (Korea) was conducted in two seasons of 2012 (dry season and rainy season). The samples of sediment were collected from the basin and investigated for concentrations of some metal and general indexes containing grain size. Concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, Ni, As, Cd, Hg, Al and Li have been determined by inductively coupled plasma spectrometer (ICP) and the sediments organic matter content was determined by the loss on ignition, and sediments were fractionated with three different nylon sieves. Correlation analysis was made for grain size, organic material and metal concentrations, and the Pearson correlation coefficients between their concentrations were determined. As a result, the higher metal concentrations were found in the period of the dry season than in another season. The metal concentrations showed high correlation with that of organic material (COD and TOC). Thereby, the high distribution of metal concentrations in sediment containing high organic compound is suggesting an interaction with organic matter.
The hydrogeochemical characteristics of groundwater in the small waterworks are examined with 81 groundwater samples in Ulju region, Ulsan. The pH ranged in 6.3-8.2 and did not exceed the drinking water standards. Electrical conductivity ranged from $50{\mu}S/cm$ to $1,719{\mu}S/cm$. It indicated that the electrical conductivities in groundwaters at the study area are relatively low, compared with other groundwaters in Ulsan area. The calcium concentrations in groundwaters ranged from 3.55 to 113.01 mg/L, and sodium concentrations ranged from 2.02 to 65.50 mg/L. Nitrate concentrations ranged from 0 to 100.56 mg/L and potassium concentrations ranged from N.D (not detected) to 2.50 mg/L. Major cations and anions were mainly derived from the water-rock interaction involving feldspar, gypsum and calcite. The groundwaters were mainly the $Ca-(Na)-HCO_3$ type, classified as the early stage of groundwater evolutions. The correlation between electrical conductivities and Ca concentrations in groundwaters was relatively high ($R^2=0.74$). In the correlations between ions, the correlation coefficient between $SO_4$ and Ca was 0.65 and between Mg and $HCO_3$ was 0.65.

Melasma has several well-recognized etiologic factors, but most researches focus on melanogenesis. The purpose of this study is to show improvement of melasma by reducing vascularity distinguished from melanogenesis. We examined 20 Korean women with both melasma and solar lentigo that were visually assessed by a dermatologist. The volunteers applied functional cosmetics for 8 weeks. We analyzed the results obtained using the chromameter, evaluating the skin color of three areas (melasma lesions, solar lentigo lesions, and non-lesional skin) on the face of volunteer. There was a statistically significant improvement in the brightness and redness of melasma lesions compared to those of non-lesional skin after 8 weeks. Also, we observed that the improvements in the brightness of melasma lesions and solar lentigo lesions were similar. However, the redness of melasma lesions improved more than that of solar lentigo lesions with statistical significance after 8 weeks. In this study, we have shown that brightness and redness in melasma lesions can be improved by functional cosmetics. Thus, we suggest redness to be an additional suitable parameter for the evaluation of melasma lesions.
Purpose: In digital mammography QC program was used for the purpose of reducing low-dose and high-definition images of the radiation dose. Materials and Methods: In digital mammography using a QC phantom according to the average glandular dose in the exposure method MLO view $0^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $55^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$, was measured at $90^{\circ}C$ intervals, an image with Hologic QC program to the SNR and CNR was measured to evaluate. Results: The average dose in the MLO view was wired to $90^{\circ}C$ when the maximum was 1.75 mGy, it decreased approximately 6% was measured at $45^{\circ}C$ 1.65 mGy. In addition, 1.67 mGy, manual record, there were an average wired in accordance with the exposure dose and the dose of 1.52 mGy difference in the way auto filter. Image quality evaluation at every angular section SNR 50 ~ 52, shows a slight difference in CNR 11 ~ 12, it was included in the manufacturer's recommended value. Conclusion: The dose was lowest in MLO view $45^{\circ}C$, the difference between SNR and CNR were insignificant. The method of exposure will need a way to reduce the exposure of the patient's body or unnecessary patient by placing a difference in settings in which the characteristics.
