This study is devoted to investigating participation motivations of billiard players who join games through open-ended questionnaires, and identify the difference of participation motivations in the game according to age and experience. Thus, 696 original data on participation motivations was obtained from 267 billiard players in Gyeonggi-do based on open-ended questionnaires. Results from inductive analysis are as follows. First, their participation motivations included 10 general sectors such as interests, objective achievement motive, competition, interpersonal relationship, mental health, job, gambling, sport competence, suggestion by others, and university admission. Second, enjoyment showed the highest percents among participation motivations according to participants' age. Third, interest showed the highest percents among participation motivations in less than five years of their experiences. Objective achievement motive was the highest portion for more than five years. These outcomes will be used as a basic data to understand the relationship of billiard players who participate in the game and further create better billiard game culture.
The purpose of this research is to compare a sensation seeking profiles of the members in Korean Olympic team with those of common athletes. The 261 participants(male: 134, female: 127) as the members of Korean Olympic team were randomly selected from the athletes, who were under training as the entrants for Athens 2004 Olympic Games. And 252 athletes who have never been national representatives, participated for the common athletes. We should find following result. First, Olympic team's athletes were lower than common athletes in TAS(p<.05), BS(p<.05), DIS(p<.001). Second, The ES factor did not find any difference following sex and level. Third, Male athletes were significantly higher than famale athletes in TAS(p<.01) and DIS(p<.001). Fourth, TAS was the highest factor in male athletes, otherwise BS was the highest factor in female athletes.
The present study aims to analyze kickers' strategic actions for finishing in penalty shoot-outs among youth soccer players ultimately to increase success rates of shoot-outs and to score a victory. Subjects were experienced 271 soccer players attending high schools located around the capital area. To determine any difference in strategic actions for finishing in penalty shoot-outs among the subjects, frequency analysis or chi-square was used for the analysis. The analysis found the following points: First, the success or failure rates of kickers in penalty shoot-outs were found to depend on subjects' experiences as soccer players. Second, in terms of kickers' shooting qualities, they were found to shoot on goal regardless of shooting positions. Third, an important factor to enhance the shoot-outs probability was found to be a strategic action through the eyes. Fourth, in view of the strategic actions prior to kickers' shooting, goalies were found to check out kickers' positions first and estimate the directions and qualities of shooting via kickers' body actions and eye lines.
This study aimed to quantify the attitude toward doping among handball players and to identify the influence of players' demographic information, knowledge of doping, education of anti-doping on the attitudes toward doping. 385 elite handball players (193 adolescent players, 165 adult players) were participated in this study and filled in the questionnaire about demographic information, knowledge of doping, education of anti-doping and Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale (PEAS). Collected data were analyzed by Stepwise multiple linear regression. Adult players were more generous about doping than adolescents, and, adolescent players' attitudes toward doping were influenced by their gender and age. In adults, attitudes toward doping were related with only the gender. These results would be useful information to develop the effective anti-doping strategy for handball play.
The purpose of this study is to adopt qualitative research methods for alpine snowboard athlete to analyze their injury factors in depth from a psychological perspective. Therefore, in-depth interviews were conducted on four outstanding Alpine Snowboard athlete, and the results were as follows. Among the factors of the injury of Alpine snowboard athlete, the psychological point of view was derived from five factors: 'Trait Anxiety', 'Personality Characteristic', 'Expectancies of Significant Others, 'Discrepancy between ability and expectation' and 'Trauma Injuries'. The five psychological injury factors have expressed the raw data of the subject in a case-oriented manner, and empirical and field-oriented interview data will enable in-depth analysis of psychological factors related to injury to future Alpine snowboard athlete and coaches. It is expected to be used as a basis for injury prevention and countermeasures. All data can be used as a basis for positive effects on the quality of life of athletes and athletes in winter sports.

The purpose of this research was to develop and validate the coach-athlete relationship scale suitable to amateur golf players by applying the Rasch rating scale model. As the coach-athlete relationship scale, the Korean form of scale developed by Kim and Park (2008), which was revised based on the evidence on the basis of inspection contents, was used to conduct a survey on 217 amateur golf athletes. And the unidimensionality, which is the basic assumption of the Rasch model, was verified using the WINSTEPS program, and the appropriateness of the item category was established through the step calibration. The goodness of fit of each question was tested through the goodness-of-fit index and the differential item functioning (DIF) was estimated according to the golf career. When the goodness-of-fit index estimated for each question was 1.30 or more it was judged unfit and the significance level in the analysis was all set as.05. The results of the analysis showed that the measures variance explained by the Rasch measurement model was more (33.7%) than 20%, so the unidimensionality assumptions of the 11 questions (..hospitable posture when my coach is teaching) were satisfied. The result of analyzing the item category (7 scale) with step calibration was found to be unfit, but in the result of reanalyzing by rescoring into a 5-point scale, it was found to be fit. Particularly, in the result of estimating the goodness-of-fit using the systematized item category (5 scale), Question 10 (...my best when my coach is teaching) and Question 11 were found to be unfit, and as a result of estimating the differential functioning item according to golf career, Question 11 was found to be unevenly differentiated according to golf career. So the 5-point scale of Question 9 after eliminating the two questions which were unfit and differentiated was validated to be the coach-athlete relationship scale suitable to amateur golf athletes.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the ability to maintain dynamic posturography(EquiTest) in gymnastic, freestyle skier, and figure skater. A total of 32 subjects(22 athletic woman and 10 collegiate woman) were participated in this study. Computerized dynamic posturography(EquiTest) was adopted to test sensory organization and motor control. EquiTest facilitated the quantification of the role of somatosensory, visual and vestibular systems in the maintenance of postural balance and was also pertinent to measure the reaction time to the stimulus to change center of gravity on force platform. As a result were as follow. There was not difference among with exercise group. But there was a significantly difference with between groups. It was suggested that the acrobatic and physical activity developed the function of visual system and the role of the combination of visual and vestibular system in maintaining postural balance to surrounding stimulus, and presented shorter reaction time in automatic postural response.
This study aimed to investigate the factors that influence the attitude toward doping and to provide useful information for developing a doping prevention program suitable for Korean athletic players. One hundred and seventy-two players who enrolled in Korea Association of Athletics Federations were participated in this study and they filled in the questionnaire about demographic factors, information on doping, perfectionism, and perceived motivational climate. Collected data were analyzed by using stepwise multiple linear regression for exploring the main factor that affect the attitude toward doping depending on field and track events. All adult players have more permissive attitude toward doping than adolescents. In track event, while players who are sensitive to coach's criticism have more permissive attitude toward doping, players who focused on personal standards have more repressive attitude toward it. These results would be useful to develop anti-doping strategy for Korean field and track players.

The aim of this study is to evaluate university canadian paddlers' iso-kinetic muscle function and provide training advices. Eight university paddlers with a 8.5 years career participated in this study. Inbody 720, biodex system III, biodex stabilizer system and THP 2 are used to investigate body component, muscle function(peak torque, average power and work fatigue), agility and dynamic balance. Iso-kinetic muscle function around shoulder, thorax and knee are measured. And then bilateral and unilateral muscle imbalance are calculated at each joint. Results of this study are as follows; University canadian paddlers' BMI average is 24.90 $kg/m^2$ and percent body fat is 12.23%. Reaction time average was 324 msec and balance score at each leg are below 2.0. A3, A4, A5, A6, A8 are needed to train shoulder muscle strength and power. A1, A2, A7, A8 are needed to strengthen shoulder muscle endurance. A2, A5, A8 are needed to train thorax muscle strength and power. A1, A8 are needed to strengthen thorax muscle endurance. Most of paddlers' reciprocal muscle balance ratio on thorax and knee are out of normal range. A2, A3, A4, A8 are needed to train abdominal strength and A3, A5, A6, A7, A8 are needed to train hamstring strength.
