Usability Evaluation of Foot Pedal Switch in X-ray Radiography System (진단용 엑스선 촬영장치에서 발판 스위치의 유용성 평가)

  • A foot pedal switch in the diagnosis x-ray radiography system has been researched to improve radiologic technologist works and patient satisfaction. The switch has been installed in the diagnosis x-ray radiography system used in domestic clinics. Quantitative evaluation has been conducted by measuring the exposure dose reproducibility test, tube voltage, mAs, and percentage average error. Qualitative evaluation has been conducted by analysis of the radiologic technologists questionnaire. In the quantitative evaluation for the use of the foot pedal switch, the coefficient of variation was less than 0.05 in the exposure dose reproducibility test. In the mAs test, percentage average error of ${\pm}20%$ was measured. There was no problem raised since it meets the all inspection standards of the diagnosis x-ray generator. In the qualitative evaluation, most of the opinions are that it has a clinical value for the foot pedal switch in the diagnosis x-ray radiography system. Therefore, developing the foot pedal switch for the diagnosis x-ray radiography system can improve effectively the rapidity and accuracy of the radiologic technologist work. In addition, it is effective in decreasing the x-ray exposure of patients and increasing satisfaction for the medical service due to reduction of retaking x-ray.

A Study on Economic Operation for Liner-Fleet by Fluctuation of Fuel Oil Price (연료유 가격변동에 따른 컨테이너선대의 경제적 운영방안)

  • For container shipping company, fuel oil prise is a considerable expense. In the last 3 years, fuel oil prises have risen considerably. An increasing fuel oil prise in container shipping, in the short term, is only partially compensated through surcharges and will therefore affect earnings negatively. This paper deals with the impact of increasing fuel oil price and capital costs for vessels on the number of vessels on the Asia-Europe trade. As per result of 'H' carrier's operation in 2008, there were no cost difference between 8 and 9 vessels operation in case the fuel oil price is USD 169/tons while adopt USD 31,818 as fixed cost. We can expect that the fuel oil price will not be decreased under USD 200 $/Ton on the basis of current high oil price phenomenon. When the fuel oil price is over USD 200 $/ton, therefore, 9 vessels operation is more economic than 8 vessel operation even if the fixed cost is over USD 35,000.

  • This research studies the shipping industry rationalization of 1984 and the 2009 shipping industry restructuring and policy to raise competitiveness. According to this research the operation of the two policies showed significant difference in the enforcer, aim and policy contents. In 1984, under government initiative, M&A of shipping companies was accomplished but in 2009 restructuring of shipping companies is being pushed ahead by the group of creditors. The use of different policies, M&A of shipping companies and restructuring of insolvent shipping companies, as solutions in a crisis shows different characteristics. The act of shipping industry rationalization in 1984 was proposed on the very basic and aggressive aim and targeted to improve Korea's shipping industry structure. On the other hand, the 2009 policy of the restructuring of the shipping companies and improving competitiveness was based on the protective concept. This policy aimed for a prevention of bankruptcy of the shipping companies and hence preserve the shipping industry.

A study on the impact of Professional burnout and job autonomy on turnover intention in radiologic technologists (방사선사의 업무소진과 업무자율성이 이직의사에 미치는 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the professional burnout and job autonomy of radiologic technologists on their turnover intention in hospitals. The major findings of the study were as follows: As for the average and standard deviation of the radiologic technologists in professional burnout and job autonomy, they got a mean of 3.15 in overall professional burnout, which was above the average. They got 2.88 in job autonomy, which was below the average. And they got 3.30 in turnover intention, which indicated that they had a strong tendency to change jobs. Regarding the influential factors for turnover intention, emotional burnout, loss of interest and loss of enthusiasm were identified as the factors that exerted a significant influence on turnover intention. If the kind of environments that stimulate their professional enthusiasm and allow them to make a decision on radiographic examinations based on their own professional knowledge is created, their burnout will be minimized. And the development of programs geared toward bolstering their job autonomy is expected to weaken their turnover intention, to enhance the efficiency of the personnel administration of radiologic technologists and their qualifications, and ultimately to boost their status in hospital organizations.

Study on security requirements for the web based operation system of a shipping company (웹 기반 해운 선사 운영시스템 보안 요구사항 연구)

  • The operation system of a shipping company is still maintaining the mainframe based terminal access environment or the client/server based environment. Nowadays shipping companies that try to migrate it into a web-based environment are increasing. However, in the transition, if the design is processed by the old configuration and knowledge without considering the characteristics of the web-based environment and shipping business, various security vulnerabilities will be revealed at the actual system operation stage, and system maintenance costs to fix them will increase significantly. Therefore, in the transition to a web-based environment, a security design must be carried out from the design stage to ensure system safety and to reduce security-related maintenance costs in the future. This paper examines the characteristics of various threat modeling techniques, selects suitable modeling technique for the operation system of a shipping company, applies data flow diagram and STRIDE threat modeling technique to shipping business, derives possible security threats from each component of the data flow diagram in the attacker's point of view, validates the derived threats by mapping them with attack library items, represents the attack tree having various attack scenarios that attackers can attempt to achieve their final goals, organizes into the checklist that has security check items, associated threats and security requirements, and finally presents 23 security requirements that can respond to threats. Unlike the existing general security requirements, the security requirements presented in this paper reflect the characteristics of shipping business because they are derived by analyzing the actual business of a shipping company and applying threat modeling technique. Therefore, I think that the presented security requirements will be of great help in the security design of shipping companies that are trying to proceed with the transition to a web-based environment in the future.

RADIOPACITY COMPARISON OF TOOTH COLORED RESTORATIVE MATERIALS WITH DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY (디지털 방사선사진술을 이용한 치아색 수복물의 방사선불투과도 비교)

  • The purposes of this study were to evaluate the validity of 2 kinds of digital radiography techniques in evaluating the radiopacity comparison of restorative materials and to determine the relative radiopacities of several kinds of compomer and flow able resin using these techniques. After taking radiographs of an aluminum step wedge, con-elation of optical density calibration curves were evaluated between conventional radiography with transmission densitometer and CD-Dent digital radiography (storage phosphor system) and between conventional one and RVG$^{(R)}$ digital radiography (CCD system). Compomers such as Dyract$^{(R)}$ AP, Compoglass$^{(R)}$, and Dyract flow$^{(R)}$, and flowable resins such as Ultraseal-XT$^{(R)}$ plus$^{TM}$, Revolution$^{TM}$, Aeliteflo$^{TM}$ and Tetric-flow$^{(R)}$ were used. Five specimens of 5mm in diameter and 2 mm thick were fabricated with each material. Radiopacities of the materials were measured using the above radiographic techniques and compared. The results were as follows: 1. When the optical density calibration curves were compared, conventional radiography and both CD-Dent and RVG$^{(R)}$ digital radiographies showed very high inverse correlations (${\gamma}$=-0.95, ${\gamma}$=-0.98 ; p<0.05). 2. All the tested restorative materials showed levels of radiopacity the same as or greater than that of dentin (p<0.05), Radiopacities of Dyract$^{(R)}$ AP, Compoglass$^{(R)}$, and Tetric flow$^{(R)}$ were greater than those of Revolution$^{TM}$, Aeliteflo$^{TM}$, or dentin (p<0.05). 3. Radiopacities of Dyract$^{(R)}$ AP, Compoglass$^{(R)}$, and Tetric flow$^{(R)}$ were shown to be greater than that of enamel when conventional radiography and CD-Dent digital radiography were used (p<0.05). Radiopacity of Dyract flow$^{(R)}$ was shown to be greater than that of Enamel when conventional radiography was used (p<0.05).

  • The probability of T/S cargo volume to decrease is the most notable problem associated with inappropriate mix of terminal operators in Busan port. Other problems include, the deterioration of the national carriers' competitiveness from non-operation of own terminal, excessively high proportion of financial operators in the engagement of operation which may result in their passiveness in timely investment, additional cost burden to carriers' in the handling inter-terminal T/S cargo transportation and inefficiency in terminal operation by the multiplicity of operators proved to be same recognized as so through the analysis. Therefore, in order to provide solutions for the problems and to strengthen Busan port's competitiveness, this research suggests the restructuring of operators mix as follows. To achieve sustainable growth of T/S cargo, global carriers' participation in terminal operation should be of utmost priority. To enhance the operational efficiency, the operators should be integrated. Similarly, the integration of operators will play a key role in verifying that national carriers' own terminal operation is an important factor in raising its competence. Finally, BPA's active engagement in the entire operation of port is also critical in public-oriented operation of the port. Whereas in the interactive analysis by taking the merits of Busan port into consideraion, global carrier's participation in operation, integration of operators and BPA's engagement in operation proved to contribute to the increase of T/S cargo and strengthening of operational efficiencies of Busan port.
