지난해 12월 국내에서는 처음으로 디지털콘텐츠 관련 석사과정이 개설됐다. 숙명여대 정보통신대학원이 올해부터 디지털콘텐츠 전공 석사과정을 정식 교과과정으로 신설하기로 결정한 것이다. 이제까지 국내에서는 일부 사이버대학의 학부에 비슷한 과정이 개설되었지만 석사과정에 디지털콘텐츠를 전문으로 교육하는 과정이 개설되기는 이번이 처음이다. 국내에서 처음으로 디지털콘텐츠 석사과정을 맡게 된 문형남(43) 숙명여대 정보통신대학원 주임교수를 만나 앞으로의 과정 운영방안을 들어봤다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and essence of the learning experiences of K University students majoring in educational school librarianship. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, an open-ended question-based focus group interview was conducted for 12 major students who had graduated from K University's master's degree course within two years. By analyzing the contents of the answers, 9 themes, 35 categories, and 104 concepts were derived from the learning experience in the master's course. Looking at the main analysis results for each area, the motive for entering the master's course was to acquire a librarian teacher qualification, which is a condition in applying for the employment examination. The Satisfaction with the learning experience was an average of 7.66 out of 10 points. In addition, the most dissatisfied parts during the master's course was the contents of the subjects and classes that were not helpful in the operation of the school library and the employment examination for librarian teachers, therefore the response was that improvement is necessary for the future development of the librarian master's degree curriculum.

최근 사회적으로 큰 이슈가 되고 있는 고실업률과는 대조적으로 SoC 기업의 인력난에 대한 문제는 예전부터 재기되어 온 문제이다. 인력 수급에 대한 애로는 이번 조사에서도 여실히 드러나 한 업체당 시급히 충원이 필요한 인력이 평균 학사급 2.2명, 석사급 3.8명, 박사급 0.6명으로 인력부족현상의 심각함을 보여주고 있다. 특히 석사급 인력수급에 가장 큰 애로사항을 느끼고 있는 것으로 드러났다.

양기백선생은 20여년전 도미하여 몸마우스 대학에서 정치학사, 아메리칸 대학에서 행정학석사, 가톨릭 대학에서 도서관학석사 학위를 획득하고 현재 미 국회도서관의 한국부장으로 봉직하면서 한국도서관발전에 많은 공헌을 하고 있다. 1965년에 한국에 관한 자료수집차 일시 귀국하여 관계인사들과 모임을 가진 바 있다.

한국 과학원(원장 조순정)은 이공계 특수 대학원으로서 7개학과 235과목을 갖춘 과학술기인재육성의 전당으로 그 기반을 굳혀가고 있다. 국가시책에 부응한 석사 전문석사 및 박사 과정을 두고 과학기술분야의 특수교육을 담당하고 있는 이 기관의 75년도 주요사업실적은 어떠한가 살펴본다.

A newly naturalized plant, Carex scoparia Schkuhr ex Willd. var. scoparia, was found in Mt. Hanseok, Injegun, Gangwon-do, Korea. It belongs to sect. Ovales Kunth and had been known from North America, and was introduced into Europe and New Zealand. This species distinguished from related taxa in Asia, Carex maackii Maxim. and Carex leporina L., by pistillate scales lanceolate and having large perigynia. We propose the new Korean name, 'Han-seok-sa-cho', based on its first collecting place. We also provide descriptions for morphological characters, illustrations, photographs and keys to allied taxa.

This study is directed toward the design of a hybrid algorithm for syllable-based Korean POS tagging. Previous syllable-based works on Korean POS tagging have relied on a sequence labeling method and mostly used only a machine learning method. We present a new algorithm integrating a machine learning method and a pre-analyzed dictionary. We used a Sejong tagged corpus for training and evaluation. While the machine learning engine achieved eojeol precision of 0.964, the proposed hybrid engine achieved eojeol precision of 0.990. In a Quiz domain test, the machine learning engine and the proposed hybrid engine obtained 0.961 and 0.972, respectively. This result indicates our method to be effective for Korean POS tagging.

The purpose of this study is to find necessary factors and to suggest the future directions for the successful graduate archival education in Korea by comparing current programs hi Korea and North America. Name of the schools, credits, required and elective courses, practice, research and thesis are compared by analyzing web sites and literature review. Development of more various Master's programs, a separate degree in Master of Archival Studies, more credits for the degree, standardization of curriculum, and the working environments for practicum, internship and research are found as important elements for the program. In the end, more collaborations with other disciplines, more faculties with working experiences and Ph. D. degree in archival studies, communications among the universities, archival institutions and professional societies/associations, continuous research on the programs, improvement of the quality of archivists, strong national supports for archives and records and establishment of the strong quality control for being archivists are suggested for the future directions.

Research methods is an integral component of a field and plays a crucial role for the development of a field. Three areas are explored to assess research methods in Korean library and information science (US) graduate programs: (1) comparison of research methods'courses across Korean LIS graduate programs; (2) content analysis of the trend of research methods education; (3) comparison of research methods'courses between the U.S. and Korean library and information science graduate programs.
