BLAISE, a information communication system England, has been developed steadily and expanded a network to the European countries, which reflects recognition of library at national level. In Japan, NACSIS has been established by a financial support from Ministry of Education and very active in networking throughout the nation. The development policy of their countries. In this study it is introduced a new concept, bibliographical information network and also suggested that bibliographical information system in Korea should be developed by expansion of KOR-MARC database.

As an attempt to grasp the current situation of traditional Korean books scattered about in the world, this study has bibliographically analyzed first of all traditional Korean books as well as old Korean maps and atlases, and topography descriptions collected by L. C.. Traditional Korean books have been analyzed classified by subject, printing or manuscript, and the kind of edition. Historical development in the compilation of geographical materials during the Chosun Dynasty has been studied. Especially on old Korean maps and atlases bibliographical characteristics have been researched. Accordingly. the foundation has been laid not only for the study on the bibliographical characteristics and the current situation of traditional Korean books and old Korean maps and atlases but also for the comparative analysis on traditional Korean books in Korea with the ones collected by L.C.

This paper presents the protection effect of surge protective devices(SPDs) according to the conditions of installations. To propose the effective protection measures of information and communication equipments against lightning surges, actual-sized experiments in relation to the protection effects on the positions of installations of SPDs, the length of branch circuit, the wiring methods, and the materials of conduit, were conducted. The effective method of protecting information and communication equipments from lightning surges is to install SPDs in the vicinity of input terminals of each electronic equipments to be protected. The wiring method of connecting an SPD minimizing the length of leads is desirable when point-to-point wiring is to be used.

This study intended to make new suggestions by clarifying usefulness of analysis methodology for the intellectual structure of disciplines, which combines author co-citation analysis and author bibliographic coupling analysis. It also aimed to identify the recent research trend and key researchers recently doing research activities actively as well as the intellectual structure in the field of social welfare. It was found to be more efficient to conduct both author co-citation analysis and author bibliographic coupling analysis in order to identify traditional sub-areas of disciplinary subject or the research trend of actual researchers in examining the intellectual structure of a specific discipline.

This study arranged the function and role of colophon and looked around the history, relevant laws, and description elements of books issued in China. According to the colophon of books issued from China, all colophon have copyrights and description elements in common. Colophon is that we recorded the bibliographic area of the proper book in special place, namely the inside of the cover. Besides, the colophon additionally includes necessary bibliographic areas depending on the development of publishing technology and transition of publishing environment. This colophon is offered as useful sources of information when librarians want to make up the catalog in the library.

This thesis has analyzed the effect of the surge happening in flight on the engine performance of the PW4000 turbofan engine. EPR is judged to be the most highly sensitive parameter responding when surge occurs. Both N1 rpm and N2 rpm decreases almost simultaneously just like an EPR. During the take-off rolling, the N1 vibration is more sensitive than the N2 vibration. Consequently, the surge can be detected by EGT increase, while the other parameters decrease.

This study intends to design the bibliographic framework based on IFLA-FRBR model for television program materials and to evaluate this in terms of effectiveness of retrieval and usability of the system. The FRBR model supplies mote suitable bibliographic framework of audio-visual material which has a sufficient hierarchical relations and relative bibliographical records. The followings are research methods designed by this study; (1) The experimental metadata system named it FbCS based on FRBR was developed by using the entity-related database and composed of multi-layed and hierarchy. FbCS is developed through benchmarking of a case study for iMMix model in Netherlands based on FRBR. (2) To evaluate effectiveness of retrieval and usability of FbCS, this study made a experiment and survey by user groups of professionals.

The purpose of this study is to examine current issues in theories and practices of bibliographic organization of and access to the Web resources. and find out how to apply them to libraries in Korea. Literature reviews and case studies of five major academic Libraries in Korea as well as United State were conducted to describe and analyze patterns of actual bibliographic organization and access. Libraries definitely vary in how to organize or integrate bibliographic records of Web resources into OPAC and how they provide access to electronic journals and selected Web sites. Academic libraries in Korea are expected to collect more systematically and comprehensively Web resources of high quality and establish strategic plans for building reliable Web resource collection.
