A Comparative Research on the OPAC Displays of the National Library of Korea and the Library of Congress (국립중앙도서관과 미국의회도서관 OPAC 디스플레이의 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of OPAC displays of the National Library of Korea and the Library of Congress. based on the 'OPAC Display Guidelines(Draft)' published by IFLA. Discussed are such topics as a basic search process and the headings list, a brief display and the arrangement of bibliographic records, a brief record and a full record, use of terms and labels. link between records, and organization of screens for the OPAC display. It is strongly suggested that when compared with the LC's OPAC, the OPAC display of the National Library of Korea should be much improved by following the recommendations of the 'OPAC Display Guidelines(Draft)'.

  • This study came up a library thought and the theory of cataloging through analyzing the life and writings of Seymour Lubetzky who founded the principals of cataloging in the twentieth century. This study investigated the historical social, ideological, and cultural context, using a literature survey and the methodology of historical research. Moreover, this study aimed a comprehensive research based on the results of domestic and foreign fragmentary studies, and analyzed the effects of Lubetzky's thought of cataloging. Thus, this study found Lubetzky's library and cataloging thought. The theory of cataloging that analyzes the above findings is the design of cataloging rules and a bibliographical relationship establishment. First of all, the principles of descriptive cataloging should contain the necessity, simplicity, unity, consistency, finality, and the characteristics of interrelations, and clarify the purpose of cataloging. The bibliographical relationship is built on dividing a work as an intellectual product into a book as a physical substance. Moreover, a basic entry is entered on the basis of author names for planning the concentration of works, and a corporate name and an anonym are contained in the author names for extending the concept of author.

A Suggestion for Improvement of the Quality of Research Articles in the Life Sciences Field Published in Domestic Journals Using Bibliometrics (생명과학 국내학술지 게재논문의 서지학적 분석을 통한 질적 수준제고 방안 연구)

  • 6,161 research articles in the Life Sciences field published in domestic journals in 2004 were evaluated using bibliometrics. The total number of authors was 29,759 and the average number of authors per article was 4.8. 63.4 percent of the articles in domestic journals had more than 4 co-authors. However, this is about 25.5 percent points lower than that of Life Sciences articles in the CELL/NATURE/SCIENCE. The co-authored articles in the domestic journals mainly consist of university - university collaboration (19.9 percent). On the other hand, the co-authored articles in the CELL/NATURE/SCIENCE mainly consist of university-research institution collaboration (48.2 percent).

A Bibliographic Study on the Calvin Theological Journal (칼빈 신학교 학술지에 대한 계량서지학적 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed at finding theological trends of Calvin Theological Journal by analyzing Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH). The study performed the time-series analysis and the analysis of distinctive terms by examining the main authors and the subject headings of the articles published in Calvin Theological Journal during 45 years. We also proposed a new method of dividing the analysis period with the change of authors and subject headings. In the analysis results, the 18 main authors had the three clusters and shared Calvin and the Reformed Theology, the Bible. The reformed characteristics were shown in the first and second period, but the reformed theology was at the margins. The frequency of Calvin became small in the third period, the frequency of the reformed theology became bigger than before, but it was at the perimeters. Literary criticism was clustered independently. There were lots of the terms of the reformed theology in the analysis of the distinctive terms in all three periods and especially in the 2-1 period science and religion were included as the distinctive terms. Therefore, the theological tendency of the Calvin Theological Journal seemed the reformed theology and Old Testament.

  • Due to rapid internet supply and the increase of electronic resources including network resources, there has been a sudden change in cataloguing fields. To deal with rapid changes, IFLA revised cataloguing rules for electronic and continuing resources; ISBD(ER) and ISBD(CR), JSC(Joint Steering Committee for Revision of AACR) has published the 2002 revision of Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, Second Edition. Major changes in both content and format make the release of the 2002 revision momentous. This study is to analyze activities of JSC and rule revisions of AACR2R 2002 edition, expecially in regards with concepts of change to rule 0.24, new categories of bibliographic materials, changes to chapter 3(cartographic materials), chapter 9(electronic materials), chapter 12(continuing materials), definition of a new terminologies, changes in MARC 21 coding, and issues concerned with revision of KORMARC.

White organic light-emitting diodes with various spacers inserted between blue and red emissive layers (Spacer에 따른 백색 유기 전기 발광 소자의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • High-efficiency white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) were fabricated with two emissive layers and a spacer was sandwiched between two phosphorescent dyes which were, bis(3,5-Difluoro-2-(2-pyridyl)phenyl-(2-carboxypyridyl) iridium III (FIrpic) as the blue emission and bis(5-acetyl-2-phenylpyridinato-N,C2') acetylacetonate $((acppy)_2Ir(acac))$ as the red emission. This spacer effectively prevented a triple-triple energy transfer between the two phosphorescent emissive layers with blue and red emission that was showed a improved lifetime. The white device showed Commission Internationale De L'Eclairage $(CIE_{x,y})$ coordinates of (0.33, 0.42) at $22400\;cd/m^2$, a maximum luminance of $27300\;cd/m^2\;at\;0.388\;mA/cm^2$, and a maximum luminous efficiency of 26.9 cd/A.

Computation of Critical Length for Linear Grounding Electrodes (직선형 접지전극의 임계길이의 산정)

  • For the surge currents like lightning currents containing high frequency components and the abnormal currents having high frequencies which cause the EMI(Electromagnetic interference) problems for the electronic devices and communication instruments, the linear grounding electrodes have the significantly composite impedance characteristics which are dependent on the frequency of the applied current. The impedance of a grounding electrode is not lowered by expanding the dimension of the grounding electrode, and the length of grounding electrode having the minimum value of the grounding impedance for each condition of frequency and soil characteristics is existent, and it is defined as Critical length. In this paper, the critical lengths for the vertically and horizontally-buried grounding electrodes are calculated by using the distributed parameter circuit model. The propriety of the simulations has been confirmed by comparing the simulated results with the measured results.

  • Ths paper describes the transient response characteristics of the grounding systems for electric power facilities against impluse currents. In this work, when the impulse current was injected through the grounding conductor for arrester, the investigations treasuring and analyzing potential rises induced at the cormron cormection trint and other grounding conductors were conducted. The lightning impulse current was awliErl so as to simulate the on-set of arrester due to lightning surges.   • This paper describes underwater discharge phenomena and breakdown characteristics in case that the standard lightning impulse voltage is injected to the needle and spherical electrodes installed in the hemisphere water tank. The objective of this work is to understand the basic features related to transient ground impedance against lightning surges. The discharge luminous images were observed and the dependence of breakdown voltage on the polarity of applied voltage and water resistivity were investigated. As a consequence, streamer corona is initiated at the tip of needle and spherical electrodes and is propagated toward grounded tank with stepwise extension. The breakdown voltage characteristics measured as a function of water resistivity showed V-shaped curves. Breakdown voltage and time curve of needle electrode is higher than that of spherical electrode.

실크 펩타이드가 첨가된 햄버거 패티의 이화학적, 관능적 품질 평가

  • 햄버거 패티에 기능적 특성을 부여하고자 실크 펩타이드를 첨가하여 햄버거 패티를 제조한 후 품질특성 및 최적 실크 펩타이드 첨가량을 평가하였다. 실크 펩타이드가 햄버거 패티의 가열 감량에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 실크 펩타이드 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 가열감량이 유의적으로 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 실크 펩타이드가 첨가된 햄버거 패티의 경도, 탄성 및 점착성을 분석한 결과 경도는 실크 펩타이드 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향이었으나, 탄성과 점착성의 경우 실크 펩타이드 첨가에 의해 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 색도 측정결과 실크 펩타이드 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 명도(L) 및 적색도(a)는 유의적으로 증가하였으며, 황색도(b)는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 실크 펩타이드를 첨가한 햄버거 패티의 관능적 특성을 분석한 결과 실크 펩타이드가 첨가된 햄버거 패티는 외관, 후각, 미각, 조직감 및 종합적 기호도 등 모든 평가항목에서 무첨가구에 비해 높게 나타났다.
