모바일 데이터 서비스 사용량 증감에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 관한 연구: 이요인 이론(Two Factor Theory)을 바탕으로 (A Study for Factors Influencing the Usage Increase and Decrease of Mobile Data Service: Based on The Two Factor Theory)

  • Conventional networking and telecommunications infrastructure characterized by wires, fixed location, and inflexibility is giving way to mobile technologies. Numerous research reports point to the ultimate domination of wireless communication. With the increasing prevalence of advanced cell-phones, various mobile data services (hereafter MDS) are gaining popularity. Although cellular networks were originally introduced for voice communications, statistics indicate that data services are replacing the matured voice service as the growth engine for telecom service providers. For example, SK Telecom, the Korea's largest mobile service provider, reported that 25.6% of revenue and 28.5% of profit came from MDS in 2006 and the share is growing. Statistics also indicate that, in 2006, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for voice didn't change but MDS grew seven percents from the previous year, further highlighting its growth potential. MDS is defined "as an assortment of digital data services that can be accessed using a mobile device over a wide geographic area." A variety of MDS have been deployed, with a few reaching the status of killer applications. Many of them need to access the Internet through the cellular-phone infrastructure. In the past, when the cellular network didn't have acceptable bandwidth for data services, SMS (short messaging service) dominated MDS. Now, Internet-ready, next-generation cell-phones are driving rich digital data services into the fabric of everyday life, These include news on various topics, Internet search, mapping and location-based information, mobile banking and gaming, downloading (i.e., screen savers), multimedia streaming, and various communication services (i.e., email, short messaging, messenger, and chaffing). The huge economic stake MDS has on its stakeholders warrants focused research to understand associated dynamics behind its adoption. Lyytinen and Yoo(2002) pointed out the limitation of traditional adoption models in explaining the rapid diffusion of innovations such as P2P or mobile services. Also, despite the increasing popularity of MDS, unexpected drop in its usage is observed among some people. Intrigued by these observations, an exploratory study was conducted to examine decision factors of MDS usage. Data analysis revealed that the increase and decrease of MDS use was influenced by different forces. The findings of the exploratory study triggered our confirmatory research effort to validate the uni-directionality of studied factors in affecting MDS usage. This differs from extant studies of IS/IT adoption that are largely grounded on the assumption of bi-directionality of explanatory variables in determining the level of dependent variables (i.e., user satisfaction, service usage). The research goal is, therefore, to examine if increase and decrease in the usage of MDS are explained by two separate groups of variables pertaining to information quality and system quality. For this, we investigate following research questions: (1) Does the information quality of MDS increase service usage?; (2) Does the system quality of MDS decrease service usage?; and (3) Does user motivation for subscribing MDS moderate the effect information and system quality have on service usage? The research questions and subsequent analysis are grounded on the two factor theory pioneered by Hertzberg et al(1959). To answer the research questions, in the first, an exploratory study based on 378 survey responses was conducted to learn about important decision factors of MDS usage. It revealed discrepancy between the influencing forces of usage increase and those of usage decrease. Based on the findings from the exploratory study and the two-factor theory, we postulated information quality as the motivator and system quality as the de-motivator (or hygiene) of MDS. Then, a confirmative study was undertaken on their respective role in encouraging and discouraging the usage of mobile data service.

정보서비스품질이 고객로열티에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 고객관계관리 관점 (The Effect of Information Service Quality on Customer Loyalty: A Customer Relationship Management Perspective)

  • As managing customer relationship gets more important, companies are strengthening information service using multi-channels to their customers as a part of their customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives. It means companies are now accepting such information services not as simple information -delivering tools, but as strategic initiatives for acquiring and maintaining customer loyalty. In this paper, we attempt to validate whether or not such various information services would impact on organizational performance in terms of CRM strategy. More specifically, our research objective is to answer the next three questions: first, how to construct the instruments to measure not information quality but information service quality?; second, which attributes of information service quality can influence corporate image and customer loyalty?; finally, does each information service type have unique characteristics compared with others in terms of influencing corporate image and customer loyalty? With respect to providing answers to those questions, the previous studies had been limited in that those studies failed to consider the variety of types of information service or restricted the quality of information service to information quality. An appropriate research model answering the above questions should consider the fact that most companies are utilizing multi channels for their information services, and include the recent strategic information service such as customer online community. Moreover, since corporate information service could be regarded as a type of products or services delivered to customer, it is necessary to adopt the criteria for assessing customer's perceived value when to measure the quality of information service. Therefore, considering both multi-channels and multi-traits may enable us to tell the detailed causal routes showing which quality attributes of which information service would affect corporate image and customer loyalty. As information service channels, we include not only homepage and DM (direct mail), which are the most frequently applied information service channels, but also online community, which is getting more strategic importance in recent years. With respect to information service quality, we abstract information quality, convenience of information service, and timeliness of information service through a wide range of relevant literature reviews. As our dependant variables, we consider corporate image and customer loyalty that both of them are the critical determinants of organizational performance, and also attempt to grasp the relationship between the two constructs. We conducted a huge online survey at the homepage of one of representative dairy companies in Korea, and gathered 367 valid samples from 407 customers. The reliability and validity of our measurements were tested by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient and principal factor analysis respectively, and seven hypotheses were tested through performing correlation test and multiple regression analysis. The results from data analysis demonstrated that timeliness and convenience of homepage have positive effects on both corporate image and customer loyalty. In terms of DM, its' information quality was represented to influence both corporate image and customer loyalty, but we found its' convenience have a positive effect only on corporate image. With respect to online community, we found its timeliness contribute significantly both to corporate image and customer loyalty. Finally, as we expected, corporate image was revealed to provide a great influence to customer loyalty. This paper provides several academic and practical implications. Firstly, we think our research reinforces CRM literatures by developing the instruments for measuring information service quality. The previous relevant studies have mainly depended on the measurements of information quality or service quality which were developed independently. Secondly, the fact that we conducted our research in a real situation may enable academics and practitioners to understand the effects of information services more clearly. Finally, since our study involved three different types of information service which are most frequently applied in recent years, the results from our study might provide operational guidelines to the companies that are delivering their customers information by multi-channel. In other words, since we found that, in terms of customer loyalty, the key areas would be different from each other according to the types of information services, our analysis would help to make decisions such as selecting strengthening points or allocating resources by information service channels.

사료내 목초탄 첨가가 비육돈의 비육능력, 지방산 조성 및 육질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Mogchotan Supplementation on Fattening Performance, Fatty acid Composition and Meat Quality in Pigs)

  • 목초탄을 0, 1.0, 2.0 및 3.0% 수준으로 사료에 첨가하여 2003년 7월 10일부터 2003년 9월 20일까지 70일간 Yorkshire 거세돈 80두를 시험동물로 공시하여 비육능력, 사료이용성, 근내지방의 지방산 조성 및 육질평가 등을 조사하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 증체량을 보면 22.37, 33.53, 32.94 및 32.81kg으로 목초탄 첨가구가 유의하게(P<0.05) 높았으며, 1kg의 증체에 소요된 사료요구량을 보면 각각 8.10, 5.45, 5.55 및 5.55 순으로 목초탄 첨가구가 대조군에 비해 사료효율이 유의하게(P<0.01) 증가하였다. 2. 근내지방의 지방산 조성을 보면 C16:0의 함량은 목초탄 첨가구가 무침가구에 비하여 감소하였고, C16:1, C18:0, C18:1, C18:2 및 C18:3 등의 함량은 목초탄 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 증가하는 경향을 보여주었으나 유의성은 없었다. 3. 포화도에 따른 변화를 보면 포화지방산은 목초탄 첨가구가 무침가구에 비하여 약간 낮은 경향을 나타내었으며, 불포화지방산은 목초탄 첨가구가 무침가구 비하여 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 다가불포화지방산은 목초란 첨가구가 무침가구에 비하여 높아지는 경향이 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 4. 돈육의 pH의 변화를 보면 목초탄 첨가구가 무침가구에 비하여 높은 경향을 나타내었으며, 보수력은 목초탄 3.0% 첨가구가 유의하게(P<0.05) 높게 나타났다. 가열감량과 육색 L값(색의 밝기)도 목초탄 3.0% 첨가구가 가장 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 육색 a와 b값은 목초탄 첨가구와 무침가구 간에 뚜렷한 차이가 없었다. 이상에서와 같이 사료 내 $1{\sim}3%$의 목초탄 첨가는 비육돈의 비육성적 및 육질을 개선시키는 효과가 있어 사료첨가제로서의 개발가능성이 시사되었다.im}250{\mu}m$는 38.1개 정도, $45{\sim}106{\mu}m$는 110개 정도인 것으로 계수되었다. 뿌리에서 균근감염 양상을 보면 vesicle 17%, hyphae 6%등으로서 총 23%정도의 균근 감염율을 보였다. 그러나 arbuscule에 의한 감염은 발견되지 않았다.된 폐기물에 의한 해양환경의 영향평가 및 대책 연구가 수행되어져야 할 것이다. 시도는 긍정적으로 평가되어야 한다. 그러므로 앞으로는 제품디자인 뿐만이 아닌 다른 다양한 분야들에게로 그 범위가 확대되어 디자인 문화적 정체성을 확립하는 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것이다.. 즉, 제품디자인의 결정요인 분석결과는 QFD의 접근방법에, 제품 디자인 파급효과 분석결과는 컨조인트 분석에 각각 보완적 기여를 할 수 있다. 이와 동시에, 실증적 분석결과는 Ettlie(1997)의 디자인 통합(DI) 이론에 대한 실증적 기반을 제공할 수 있다. 마지막으로, 성공적인 디자인 경영(DM)을 위해서는 최고 경영자의 지원뿐만 아니라 부처 간 의사소통의 장애요인을 제거하고 CFT(cross-functional team)를 운영함으로써 동시적 엔지니어링(CE) 및 제품 및 공정 디자인의 개발이 제품 개발의 속도를 가속화하고 디자인 품질을 높이며 시장 성공을 보증할 수 있도록 해야 한다.임과 채팅은 긍정적인 상호관련을 가진 것으로 나타난 반면 전자메일 서비스 이용은 성적 만족과 부정적인 상호관련을 가진 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 대학생들이 지루하게 느끼거나 외로움을 느낄 때 전자메일을 주로 이용하지만 성적 만족을 위해 전자메일을 이용하지 않고 있다는 사실을 보여주는 것이다. (3) 인터넷 이용 이후 다른 미디어와 면대면 커뮤니케이션과의 관계 인터넷을 이용한 후 응답자들의 전통적인 미디어(텔레비전, 라디오, 신문, 잡지, 편지, 전화)

자동착유시스템 설치농가의 설치 후 만족도에 관한 실태조사 (A Suvey on Satisfaction Measurement of Automatic Milking System in Domestic Dairy Farm)

  • 본 시험은 국내에 도입되기 시작한 AMS에 대하여 설치 동기, 설치 후 우유생산량과우유품질, AMS 설치계기 및 설치 후 만족도, AMS 운영상 애로점 및 건의사항 등을 조사 분석하였다. 설치 계기가 무엇인가에 대한 응답비율은 노동력 부족 44%, 체험목장으로 전환 25%, 소들의 고능력화에 대응 19% 순이었으며 기타 6%였다. AMS 설치농가의 사육경력은 평균 24.9년, 평균 연령은 53.2세로 나타났으며 가족노동력만으로 경영하는 목장이 조사농가의 38%, 고용+자가노동력 형태의 목장이 63%로 나타났다. 목장의 산유능력은 두당 평균 유량은 1일 $30.9{\ell}$, 평균 유지율 3.9%, 세균수는 9.1천개/$m{\ell}$ 수준이었다. 후계자 육성에 대한 질문에 매우 그렇다라고 응답한 비율은 68%였으며, 보통 18%, 아니다와 매우 아니다라고 응답한 비율은 18%로 나타났다. 시스템 운영현황 및 애로사항을 파악하기 위하여 AMS의 프로그램 주운영자에 대한 질문에 본인 44%, 부인 6%, 자녀 또는 후계자사람이 44%, 기타 6%나 되었다. AMS 운영상 가장 어려운 점에 대한 조사결과, 기기 작동 및 복잡한 프로그램 운영이 각각 31%로 가장 많았다. 그 외 기계 에러 및 고장에 대한 애로사항이 25%이였다. 도태원인에 대하여 유방염 28%, 번식장애 20%, 발굽질환 19%, AMS에 부적합한 유두 배열 12%, 분만 후 대사성질병 7%, 노산 등 기타 14%였다. 시스템 설치 후 유지보수 계약 체결유무 및 비용에 대하여 유지보수 계약 56%, 유지 보수 계약 미체결 44%이었다. 유지보수 계약 평균 계약비용은 연간 658만원 정도였다. 시스템 설치 후 항목별 만족도에 대하여 5점 만점에 3.9점이었으며, 노동력 절감 3.7점, 업체의 A/S 3.6점, 산유량 증가 3.2점, 원유의 체세포 수 저감 2.8점이었다. 시스템 설치 시 고려사항 및 건의사항에 대하여 고가의 장비를 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 젖소의 유방과 유두 배열이 적합하도록 젖소를 선발하는 것, 시스템을 운용할 수 있는 능력, 적합한 환경, 재정적 능력과 부지 확보, 지속적인 관찰 등이 권장되어야 할 것으로 나타났으며, 설치 업체에 대해서는 컨설팅이 체계화될 필요가 가장 높게 나타났으며 이어서 보다 저렴한 설치와 서비스의 체계화를 요구하는 결과를 보였다.

신체계측(身體計測) 및 검사소견(檢査所見)을 중심으로 한 사상인(四象人)의 특징(特徵)에 대한 분석(分析) (An analysis on the characteristics of Sa-sang constitution - centering on the body measures and diagnosis results -)

  • 연구 목적 : 사상인의 각 체질별 특성을 파악하기 위한 통계조사 연구이다. 연구 방법 : 경희의료원 동서 종합 건강진단센타에 1995년 2월 3일부터 1996년 5월 10까지 내원한 검사자들의 인구학적 특성, 21 개 검사 소견, 체질증을 중심으로 각 사상인에 따른 특성을 빈도분석, Oneway Anava검정, 교차분석을 통한 ${\chi}^2$ 검정을 실시하여 사상인에 따라 유의성있는 차이가 있는지를 살펴 보았다. 연구 결과 : 사상인 체질 진단과 체질의 특성을 파악하기 위해 196례 검사자의 체질진단을 시행하고 각 사상인에 따른 일반적 특성 신체계측 완실무병 조건인 땀, 대 소변, 수면상태, 그리고 각종 검사소견을 살펴 아래의 결과를 얻었다. 1. 196례 검사자의 사상체질 진단 결과 태음인(太陰人) 110명 (56.1%), 소음인(少陰人) 58명(29.6%), 소양인(少陽人) 28명 (14.3%)으로 태음인(太陰人)이 가장 많았고 소음인(少陰人)이 소양인(少陽人)보다 많았다. 2. 직업에 따른 사상인의 분포는 사무직, 행정직, 주부는 태음인(太陰人)과 소음인(少陰人), 연구전문직은 소음인(少陰人), 사기업 경영은 태음인(太陰人), 서비스직은 소양인(少陽人)이 많았다. 3. 각 체질 진단 설문 조사의 특성은 QSCC(I)은 다른 체질이 태양인(太陽人)으로 진단되는 경향이 높고, 1번 설문지 는 소음인(少陰人) 판정 정확율이 76.4%로 높았다. 4. 각 체질별 체질중을 살펴 보면 태음인(太陰人)은 땀이 잘 나고 소음인(少陰人)은 땀이 잘나지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 태음인(太陰人)은 식욕이 좋으며 찬음식을 좋아하고 소화가 잘되나 소음인(少陰人)은 식욕이 좋지 않고 더운 음식을 좋아하며 소화가 잘 안되는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 비만도의 검사에서 태음인(太陰人)이 비만도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 6. 고혈압자의 사상인 분포에서 수축기 혈압과 확장기 혈압은 태음인(太陰人)이 높은 것으로 나타났고, 고혈압자의 발생빈도도 태음인이 사상인(四象人)중 가장 높게 나타났다. 7. 고지혈중과 사상인 분포에서 중성지방은 태음인(太陰人)이 가장 높은 것으로 나타나 태음인(太陰人)에게 중성지방이 높은 고지혈중 발생빈도가 높았으나 총콜레스테롤은 사상인(四象人)간의 유의성 있는 차이가 없었다. 8. 간기능 효소와 사상인 분포에서 GPT, GGT는 태음인(太陰人)이 소양인(少陽人)보다 높은 것으로 나타났고 GOT는 사상인(四象人)의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 9. 초음파 검사에 의한 지방간의 발생빈도는 태음인(太陰人)이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

하이브리드 비디오 코팅에 의한 디지털 홀로그램 압축기술 (Digital Hologram Compression Technique By Hybrid Video Coding)

  • 디지털 홀로그램의 저변이 확대됨에 따라서 3차원 영상의 구성을 위한 스테레오 영상의 압축기술에 대한 국제적인 표준이 3DAV라는 형태로 진행되는 것과 같이 디지털 홀로그램의 압축 기술에 대한 논의도 활발히 이루어질 것으로 보인다. 3DAV의 경우애도 볼 수 있듯이 기존에 존재하는 여러 가지 기술들을 접목하거나 변형한 형태, 혹은 그들의 혼합된 형태로 논의될 가능성이 크다. 또한 디지털 홀로그램의 압축을 위한 전용 시스템을 구성하는 기존의 기술을 배제하고 개발하는 것은 현실적으로 어렵다. 따라서 다양한 영상압축 기술들과 디지털 홀로그램과의 상관관계에 대한 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 비디오 및 영상압축 도구들을 이용하여 디지털 홀로그램을 효율적으로 부호화하는 기술을 제안하고자 한다.   • 1980년대 한국의 산업구조조정과 지역불균등발전은 70년대말 직면한 위기를 극복하 고 총량적 경제성장을 지속시키기 위해 외연적 팽창과 내포적 발전을 동시에 추구했으뎌, 그 결과 한국 경제는 포드주의적 축적체제에서 주변성을 탈각하고 성숙되었다. 산업구조의 외연적 팽창과정에서 자본의 공간적 이동과 분업체계의 확충은 기존의 수도권-동남권의 양 극체제를 일정하게 유지하면서 한편으로 수도권지역에 산업의 재집중과 또 다른 한편으로 새롭게 조성된 호남, 충청권으로의 분산을 촉진시켰다. 산업구조의 내포적 발전과정에서 포 드주의적 분업체계의 심화는 경영관리 및 연구개발의 구상기능을 강화시키고 생산자서비스 를 일정하게 포섭한 독점자본의 본사, 생산공정의 자동화와 제품의 표준화, 규격화로 대량생 산체제를 달성한 대기업의 분공장, 이들 주변에서 값싼 노동력으로 부품생산을 담당하는 영 세하청공장들 간의 사회공간적 위계화를 촉진시키면서, 독점자본에 의한 공간지배를 보다 확대시키고 또한 치밀하게 함으로써 지역불균등발전을 심화시켰다.

  • AIn the advanced - economy, the services industry hasbecome a dominant sector. Evidently, the services sector has grown at a much faster rate than any other. For instance, in such developed countries as the U.S., the proportion of the services sector in its GDP is greater than 75%. Even in the developing countries including India and China, the magnitude of the services sector in their GDPs is rapidly growing. The increasing dependence on service gives rise to new initiatives including service science and service-dominant logic. These new initiatives propose a new theoretical prism to promote the better understanding of the changing economic structure. From the new perspectives, service is no longer regarded as a transaction or exchange, but rather co-creation of value through the interaction among service users, providers, and other stakeholders including partners, external environments, and customer communities. The purpose of this study is the following. First, we review previous literature on service, service innovation, and service systems and integrate the studies based on service dominant logic. Second, we categorize the ten propositions of service dominant logic into conceptual propositions and the ones that are directly related to service provision. Conceptual propositions are left out to form the research model. With the selected propositions, we define the research constructs for this study. Third, we develop measurement items for the new service concepts including service provider network, customer network, value co-creation, and convergence of service with product. We then propose a research model to explain the relationship among the factors that affect the value creation mechanism. Finally, we empirically investigate the effects of the factors on firm performance. Through the process of this research study, we want to show the value creation mechanism of service systems in which various participants in service provision interact with related parties in a joint effort to create values. To test the proposed hypotheses, we developed measurement items and distributed survey questionnaires to domestic companies. 500 survey questionnaires were distributed and 180 were returned among which 171 were usable. The results of the empirical test can be summarized as the following. First, service providers' network which is to help offer required services to customers is found to affect customer network, while it does not have a significant effect on value co-creation and product-service convergence. Second, customer network, on the other hand, appears to influence both value co-creation and product-service convergence. Third, value co-creation accomplished through the collaboration of service providers and customers is found to have a significant effect on both product-service convergence and firm performance. Finally, product-service convergence appears to affect firm performance. To interpret the results from the value creation mechanism perspective, service provider network well established to support customer network is found to have significant effect on customer network which in turn facilitates value co-creation in service provision and product-service convergence to lead to greater firm performance. The results have some enlightening implications for practitioners. If companies want to transform themselves into service-centered business enterprises, they have to consider the four factors suggested in this study: service provider network, customer network, value co-creation, and product-service convergence. That is, companies becoming a service-oriented organization need to understand what the four factors are and how the factors interact with one another in their business context. They then may want to devise a better tool to analyze the value creation mechanism and apply the four factors to their own environment. This research study contributes to the literature in following ways. First, this study is one of the very first empirical studies on the service dominant logic as it has categorized the fundamental propositions into conceptual and empirically testable ones and tested the proposed hypotheses against the data collected through the survey method. Most of the propositions are found to work as Vargo and Lusch have suggested. Second, by providing a testable set of relationships among the research variables, this study may provide policy makers and decision makers with some theoretical grounds for their decision making on what to do with service innovation and management. Finally, this study incorporates the concepts of value co-creation through the interaction between customers and service providers into the proposed research model and empirically tests the validity of the concepts. The results of this study will help establish a value creation mechanism in the service-based economy, which can be used to develop and implement new service provision.

서비스혁신 연구 동향: 국내 및 해외 주요 학술지를 중심으로 (A Review of Service Innovation Research: A Comparison of Domestic and International Research Papers)

  • Although service innovation is not a new concept, innovation research in general tends to focus on technological innovation by manufacturing firms. With this view, innovation studies focus on product(e.g., goods) and process(e.g., product systems) innovation, ignoring service innovation and its inherent opportunities. Since major economy has been transformed to service economy, service innovation is considered a new effective way to sustain and gain a competitive advantage. Service innovation is no longer regarded merely as a side activity to product innovation; it has become a main research topic in its own right, accompanied by an increasing focus on services. While the number of service innovation studies has increased dramatically in the past 30 years in international research, few studies have been performed in domestic studies because domestic service innovation research began from the middle of 2000. In addition, there are no comprehensive literature reviews describing the evolution of service innovation research in both international and domestic studies because of the heterogeneities of service industry and multidiscipline characteristics of service innovation studies. To bridge this research gap, the purpose of this paper is to perform an extensive literature review and synthesis to enable a critical review of extant research on service innovation and trace its evolution, which will establish a foundation for further studies. By reviewing 169 articles (136 international papers; 33 domestic papers) published between 2000 and 2014 (in past 15 years), primarily in leading service, innovation and management information systems journals, this study analyzes the progression of service innovation research according to the four aspects such as number of studies, topics, methodologies and target industries. Overall, the view of service innovation has evolved, from a complement of traditional product innovation to a multidimensional, all-encompassing concept that entails several functions, both within and outside the firms. The results showed that domestic research still stays at the formation phase of service innovation studies although international research is in the maturity or multidimensional phase. We found increasing recent activities pertaining to service innovation, resulting from the increasing interest in services innovation across various industries and the links of new topics to the service innovation concept in both international and domestic studies. However, the main focus of service innovation research showed a different propensity between international and domestic studies: the former mainly focuses on a much more diversified pattern, emphasizing the linkages between service innovation and business strategy while the latter mainly focuses on the service innovation process(system) and service design. In addition, there are many case studies in domestic studies while many empirical studies in international studies. Domestic studies should increases the understanding of the interplay between service innovation and product innovation within manufacturing firms. Furthermore, rather than focusing on intrinsic distinctions between service innovation and product innovation, researchers should strive to develop and conceptualize service innovation in domestics studies. The present research also provides useful implications for practitioners. First, this study contributes to expand the current understanding of service innovation research by performing an extensive literature review. Second, tracing and comparing the progression and trends of service innovation research between international and domestic studies, this study showed the similarities and differences between them, which provide practical guidance on future research directions and research agenda. Third, this study performed literature review establishing the analysis system in the initial stage and using them to analyze articles, which is leading to explain the research review of service innovation more systematically and objectively. Finally, this study suggests the domestic researchers their future interests and topics of service innovation research.

정보시스템의 실제 이용에 대한 연구: 모바일 서비스 시스템 품질을 중심으로 (A Study on Actual Usage of Information Systems: Focusing on System Quality of Mobile Service)

  • Information systems (IS) have become ubiquitous and changed every aspect of how people live their lives. While some IS have been successfully adopted and widely used, others have failed to be adopted and crowded out in spite of remarkable progress in technologies. Both the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the IS Success Model (ISSM), among many others, have contributed to explain the reasons of success as well as failure in IS adoption and usage. While the TAM suggests that intention to use and perceived usefulness lead to actual IS usage, the ISSM indicates that information quality, system quality, and service quality affect IS usage and user satisfaction. Upon literature review, however, we found a significant void in theoretical development and its applications that employ either of the two models, and we raise research questions. First of all, in spite of the causal relationship between intention to use and actual usage, in most previous studies, only intention to use was employed as a dependent variable without overt explaining its relationship with actual usage. Moreover, even in a few studies that employed actual IS usage as a dependent variable, the degree of actual usage was measured based on users' perceptual responses to survey questionnaires. However, the measurement of actual usage based on survey responses might not be 'actual' usage in a strict sense that responders' perception may be distorted due to their selective perceptions or stereotypes. By the same token, the degree of system quality that IS users perceive might not be 'real' quality as well. This study seeks to fill this void by measuring the variables of actual usage and system quality using 'fact' data such as system logs and specifications of users' information and communications technology (ICT) devices. More specifically, we propose an integrated research model that bring together the TAM and the ISSM. The integrated model is composed of both the variables that are to be measured using fact as well as survey data. By employing the integrated model, we expect to reveal the difference between real and perceived degree of system quality, and to investigate the relationship between the perception-based measure of intention to use and the fact-based measure of actual usage. Furthermore, we also aim to add empirical findings on the general research question: what factors influence actual IS usage and how? In order to address the research question and to examine the research model, we selected a mobile campus application (MCA). We collected both fact data and survey data. For fact data, we retrieved them from the system logs such information as menu usage counts, user's device performance, display size, and operating system revision version number. At the same time, we conducted a survey among university students who use an MCA, and collected 180 valid responses. A partial least square (PLS) method was employed to validate our research model. Among nine hypotheses developed, we found five were supported while four were not. In detail, the relationships between (1) perceived system quality and perceived usefulness, (2) perceived system quality and perceived intention to use, (3) perceived usefulness and perceived intention to use, (4) quality of device platform and actual IS usage, and (5) perceived intention to use and actual IS usage were found to be significant. In comparison, the relationships between (1) quality of device platform and perceived system quality, (2) quality of device platform and perceived usefulness, (3) quality of device platform and perceived intention to use, and (4) perceived system quality and actual IS usage were not significant. The results of the study reveal notable differences from those of previous studies. First, although perceived intention to use shows a positive effect on actual IS usage, its explanatory power is very weak ($R^2$=0.064). Second, fact-based system quality (quality of user's device platform) shows a direct impact on actual IS usage without the mediating role of intention to use. Lastly, the relationships between perceived system quality (perception-based system quality) and other constructs show completely different results from those between quality of device platform (fact-based system quality) and other constructs. In the post-hoc analysis, IS users' past behavior was additionally included in the research model to further investigate the cause of such a low explanatory power of actual IS usage. The results show that past IS usage has a strong positive effect on current IS usage while intention to use does not have, implying that IS usage has already become a habitual behavior. This study provides the following several implications. First, we verify that fact-based data (i.e., system logs of real usage records) are more likely to reflect IS users' actual usage than perception-based data. In addition, by identifying the direct impact of quality of device platform on actual IS usage (without any mediating roles of attitude or intention), this study triggers further research on other potential factors that may directly influence actual IS usage. Furthermore, the results of the study provide practical strategic implications that organizations equipped with high-quality systems may directly expect high level of system usage.
