A Service Architecture to support IP Multicast Service over UNI 4.0 based ATM Networks (UNI 4.0 기반 ATM 망에서의 IP 멀티캐스트 지원 방안을 위한 서비스 구조)

  • Most of the important real time multimedia applications require multipoint transmissions. To support these applications in ATM based Intermet environments, it is important to provide efficient IP multicast transportations over ATM networks. IETF proposed MARS(Multicast Address Resolution Server) as the service architecture to transport connectionless IP multicast flows over connection oriented ATM VCs. MARS assumes UNI3.0/3.1 signalling. Since UNI3.0/3.1 does not provide any means for receivers to request a join for a multicast ATM VC, MARS provides overlay service to relay join request from IP multicast group members to the sources of the multicast group. Later on, ATM Forum standardized UNI4.0 signalling which is provisioned with a new signalling mechanism called LIJ(Leaf Initiated Join). LIJ enables receivers to directly signal the source of an ATM VC to join. In this paper, we propose a new service architecture providing IP multicast flow transportation over ATM networks deploying UNI4.0 signalling. The proposed architecture is named UNI4MARS. It comprises service components same as those of the MARS. The main functionality provided by the UNI4MARS is to provide source information to the receivers so that the receivers may exploit LIJ to join multicast ATM VCs dynamically. The implementation overhead of UNI4MARS and that of MARS are compared by a course of simulations. The simulation results show that the UNI4MARS supports the dynamic IP multicast group changes more efficiently with respect to processing, memory and bandwidth overhead.

A Component-Based Framework for Structural Embedding of Mobile Agent System (모바일 에이전트 시스템의 구성적 임베딩을 위한 컴포넌트 기반의 프레임워크)

  • Rapid evolution of wired and wireless technologies results in various types of embedded systems, and the software to be embedded into those devices now needs the flexibility rather than the fixedness which was well-known property for the embedded software in the past. Mobile agent is one of the useful distributed technologies of reducing network load and latency because of its disconnected operations and high asynchrony. In this paper, a component-based mobile agent framework, called EmHUMAN, is designed and implemented for structural embedding into the devices showing different functions and resource constraints. It consists of 3 layers of components. Based on those components, a structural embedding, considering resource constraints of required functions, amount of storage space, computing power, network bandwidth, ${\ldots} $ etc can be performed. The components in each layer can be extended with addition of new components, removing some components and modifying components. EmHUMAN plays the role of a framework for developing mobile agent based distributed systems. It is also a mobile agent system by itself. EmHUMAN provides several utilities as built-in API's, and thus high effectiveness in programming mobile agents can be achieved.

  • MANET은 전형적인 무선 네트워킹과는 다른 새로운 무선 네트워킹 파라다임으로써 기존 유선 망의 하부 구조에 의존하지 않고 이동 호스트틀로만 구성된 네트워크이다. Ad Hoc망에서 통신을 하기 위해서는 출발지 노드에서 목적지 노드까지 데이터 전송을 위한 라우팅에 관한 문제이다. Ad Hoc망에서는 모든 단말기의 위치변화가 가능하기 때문에 경로설정에 어려움이 따른다. 노드간에 정보를 보내고자 할 때 노트가 인접한 상태가 아니면 정보를 직전 보낼 수 없고 여러 중간 노드들을 거쳐서 정보를 보내는 다중-홉 라우팅 방식을 사용해야 한다. 따라서 중간 노드들은 패킷 라우터의 역할을 해야하는데 무선 통신 자체가 좁은 대역폭과 한정된 채널을 가지고 전송 범위가 제한되는 문제가 있다. 또한 노트 자체의 이동성과 전력 소모 등으로 인한 이탈은 망 위상을 수시로 변화시키므로 노트간에 정보를 전송하는데 가장 종은 경로는 수시로 변경될 수 있으므로 많은 어려움이 따르게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제의 해결방안으로 경로유지 과정에서 Ad Hoc망 내의 노드들은 이동성의 특성으로 인해 현재 사용되는 경로 보다 더 짧고 효율적인 경로가 발생하고 중간 노트가 이동 될 때 새로운 경로로 갱신하여 솔기없는 최적의 경로를 유지할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 ZRP의 IERP에서 감청모드를 통하여 사공중인 경로보다 최적의 경로를 감지하여 새로운 경로로 갱신하는 방법과 중간 노드가 이동하여 경로가 깨진 경우 부분적으로 경로를 복구하는 방법을 제시하여 항상 최적화된 경로를 유지함으로써 Ad Hoc망의 위상변화에 대한 적응성을 높일 수 있도록 한다.   • In case of display a lot of information from mobile devices, those systems are being developed that display the information from mobile devices on remote devices such as TV using the mobile devices as remote controllers because it is difficult to display a lot of information on mobile devices due to their limited bandwidth and small screen sizes. A lot of cost is required to design and develop interfaces for these systems corresponding to each of remote display devices. In this paper, a mobile environment based remote display system for displays at real times is proposed for continuous monitoring of status data for unique 'Mote IDs'. Also, remote data are collected and monitored through sensor network devices such as ZigbeX by applying status perception based remote displays at real times through processing ubiquitous computing environment data, and remote display applications at real times are implemented through PDA wireless mobiles. The system proposed in this paper consists of a PDA for remote display and control, mote embedded applications programming for data collections and radio frequency, server modules to analyze and process collected data and virtual prototyping for monitoring and controls by virtual machines. The result of the implementations indicates that this system not only provides a good mobility from a human oriented viewpoint and a good usability of accesses to information but also transmits data efficiently.

Energy-Efficient Mobility Management Schemes in HMIPv6 (HMIPv6환경에서 에너지 효율적인 이동성 관리 기법)

  • In Mobile IP, several types of messages - binding update, binding request and binding acknowledgement - are used to support user mobility. It is necessary to exchange those messages frequently for seamless mobility but it incurs both the increase of network overhead and poor usage of mobile node battery power Thus, we need a mechanism that the server detects users location and also copes with the problems effectively, which is our main concern in this paper Each user records all moving logs locally and periodically makes out profile based on them in HMIPv6. By using profile, estimated resident time can be computed whenever he enters an area and the time is set up as the binding update message lifetime. Of course, the more correct lifetime nay be obtained IP arrival time as well as average resident time Is considered in profile. Through extensive experiments, we measure the bandwidth usage for binding update messages by comparing the proposed schemes with that in HMIPv6. From the results, Gain gets over $80\%$ when mobile node stays more than 13 minutes in a subnet. Namely, we come to know that our schemes improve network usage and energy usage in mobile node by decreasing the number of messages while they also manage users locations like that in HMIPv6.

Adaptive Error Control Scheme for Supporting Multimedia Services on Mobile Computing Environment (이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 멀티미디어 서비스 지원을 위한 적응적 에러 제어 기법)

  • Mobile computing has such characteristics as portability, wireless network, mobility, etc. These characteristics cause various problems to mobile terminals like frequent disconnection, high error rate, and varying network status. These problems motivate us to develop an adaptive error control mechanism for supporting multimedia service in mobile computing environment. In this paper, we propose the Adaptive Error Control(AEC) scheme using client's buffer size and current error rate. After categorizing the status into four groups according to client's buffer size and current error rate, this scheme applies an appropriate error control scheme to each status. In this scheme, thresholds of buffer size and error rate are determined by the data transmission time, play rate and average VOP size, and by the probability of error for a sequence of packets. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated by flaying MPEG-4 files on an experimental client/server environment, respectively. The results show that error correcting rate is similar to other schemes while the time for correcting error reduce a little. In addition, the size of data for correcting error is decreased by 23% compared with FEC and Hybrid FEC, respectively. Theses results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is more suitable in mobile computing environment with small bandwidth and varying environment than existing schemes.

A Distributed Method for Constructing a P2P Overlay Multicast Network using Computational Intelligence (지능적 계산법을 이용한 분산적 P2P 오버레이 멀티케스트 네트워크 구성 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a method that can construct efficiently a P2P overlay multicast network composed of many heterogeneous peers in communication bandwidth, processing power and a storage size by selecting a peer in a distributed fashion using an ant-colony theory that is one of the computational intelligence methods. The proposed method considers not only the capacity of a peer but also the number of children peers supported by the peer and the hop distance between a multicast source and the peer when selecting a parent peer of a newly joining node. Thus, an P2P multicast overlay network is constructed efficiently in that the distances between a multicast source and peers are maintained small. In addition, the proposed method works in a distributed fashion in that peers use their local information to find a parent node. Thus, compared to a centralized method where a centralized server maintains and controls the overlay construction process, the proposed method scales well. Through simulations, we show that, by making a few high capacity peers support a lot of low capacity peers, the proposed method can maintain the size of overlay network small even there are a few thousands of peers in the network.

Efficient AIOT Information Link Processing in Cloud Edge Environment Using Blockchain-Based Time Series Information (블록체인 기반의 시계열 정보를 이용한 클라우드 엣지 환경의 효율적인 AIoT 정보 연계 처리 기법)

  • With the recent development of 5G and artificial intelligence technologies, it is interested in AIOT technology to collect, process, and analyze information in cloud edge environments. AIIoT technology is being applied to various smart environments, but research is needed to perform fast response processing through accurate analysis of collected information. In this paper, we propose a technique to minimize bandwidth and processing time by blocking the connection processing between AIOT information through fast processing and accurate analysis/forecasting of information collected in the smart environment. The proposed technique generates seeds for data indexes on AIOT devices by multipointing information collected by blockchain, and blocks them along with collection information to deliver them to the data center. At this time, we deploy Deep Neural Network (DNN) models between cloud and AIOT devices to reduce network overhead. Furthermore, server/data centers have improved the accuracy of inaccurate AIIoT information through the analysis and predicted results delivered to minimize latency. Furthermore, the proposed technique minimizes data latency by allowing it to be partitioned into a layered multilayer network because it groups it into blockchain by applying weights to AIOT information.
