The relationships among college students' life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being (대학생의 생활스트레스, 자기효능감, 내외통제 및 주관안녕 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relationships among college students' life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being. A total of 279 college students participated in this study. It was administered a questionnaire consisting of questioned of concerning life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being. The correlation analysis and the analysis of mediating effect were conducted on the data. The main results of data analysis showed (1) correlations among life stress, self-efficacy, locus of control, and subjective well-being, (2) significant mediating effect of self-efficacy between life stress and subjective well-being. The direction of a further study was suggested.

Convergence Relationship between Life Stress and Depression in Nursing College Students (간호대학생의 생활스트레스와 우울과의 융복합적 관련성)

  • This descriptive research study was conducted to identify the connection between life stress and depression in nursing college students. The data was collected targeting 311 students at colleges of nursing from November 20, 2017 to December 5, 2017, and analyzed through the multiple linear regression analysis method using the SPSS 20.0 statistics program. The results of this study found that there was a difference between life stress and depression in relation to the college life satisfaction among general and health-related characteristics. The level of life stress was the highest in academic problems; and the level of depression was 16.52. According to the results of correlation analysis, all the domains of life stress showed a significantly positive correlation with depression. When it comes to the effects of life stress on depression, there was a significant difference in the relationship with friends and views of value, and the level of explanatory power was 36.2%. In conclusion, this study suggests the necessity of developing intervention programs to reduce life stress and conducting the follow-up studies which are designed to establish various predictors that may act as life stress in college nursing students, based on the results of the effects of life stress on depression in nursing college students.

Home Management Behavior Stress and Life Satisfaction Perceived by Employed Wives and Unemployed Wives (취업주부와 비취업주부의 가정관리행동시 스트레스 인지수준과 가정생활만족도)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 주부의 취업여부에 따른 가정관리 행동시 스트레스와 가정생활만 족도를 비교.분석하고 관련변인에 따른 차이를 분석하며 가정생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 제반 변인을 고찰하여 주부들의 스트레스를 해소함과 동시에 가정생활의 만족도를 증진시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 예비조사를 거쳐본조사를 실시하였고 설문지는 총 500부를 배부하였으나 응답이 부실기재된 것을 제외한 328부가 분석자료로 사용되었고 모든자료의 분석방법은 SPSS program package를 이용하였다. 본 연구의 중요한 결과를 요 약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 가정관리행동과 스트레스 인지수준은 취업주부가 비취업주부보다 높 게 나타났다. 2)가정생활만족도는 취업주부와 비취업주부간에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 3)취업주부와 비취업주부의 가정관리행동시 스트레스 인지수준과 가정생활만족도는 의미있는 부적상관을 나타냈다. 4)취업주부와 비취업주부의 가정생활만족도에 가장 큰영향을 미치는 변인은 남편의 지지도로 밝혀졌으며, 이외에 취업주부의 가정생활만족도는 가사노동선호도, 주생활 관리행동시 스트레스에 의하여, 비취업주부의 가정생활만족도는 가사노동선호도, 애정 및 기질 관리 행동시 스트레스, 가사노동에 대한 가치평가에 의하여 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

Relationship of Life Stress to Stress Coping in Health-Related Majors : Focusing on Occupational Therapy Students (보건계열 대학생의 생활스트레스와 스트레스 대처와의 관계 : 작업치료학과 대학생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the life stress and stress coping of occupational therapy students in an effort to provide directions and various methods to ensure the psychological stability and successful university adjustment of students. The subjects in this study were 369 students majoring in occupational therapy in universities located in Jeolla Province. A self-administered survey was conducted from June 1 to July 30, 2019. The findings of the study were as follows: As for life stress by general characteristics, there were differences in that regard according to gender, academic year, Family relations and economic status. For stress coping, there was a difference in that regard according to gender. Life stress had a significant positive relationship with stress coping, and specifically, it had significant positive relationships with emotion-focused coping and wishful thinking, subfactors of stress coping. The subfactors of life stress had a significant negative correlation with those of stress coping as well. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop and research the effectiveness of stress coping programs to reduce life stress during college life and facilitate the school adjustment of college students.

The Convergence Influence of Life Stress, Depression and Ego Resiliency on College Life Adaptation in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 생활스트레스, 우울, 자아탄력성이 대학생활적응에 미치는 융복합적 연구)

  • This study investigates convergent influence on college life adaptation and its association with life stress, depression and ego resiliency among of nursing students. The data of life stress, depression and ego resiliency on college life adaptation was collected for the nursing students of G city from Dec. 5th 2015 to Feb. 8th 2016. There was a significant difference in life stress, college life adaptation according to club experience and grade level, depression according to best friend and ego resiliency according to satisfaction with major. Adaptation to college life was negatively correlated with life stress and it was positively correlated with ego resiliency. Life stress and ego resiliency is a significant predictor of college life adaptation in nursing students. Their explanatory power was 32.9%. In order to help nursing college students to adapt to college life well, it will be necessary to provide the intervention to decrease the degree of life stress and to the improvement convergence program on ego resiliency.

Impact of Life Stress on Depression, Subjective Well-being and Psychological Well-being in Nursing Students: Mediation Effects of Coping (간호대학생의 생활스트레스와 우울, 안녕감의 관계에서 스트레스 대처의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the mediating effects of coping on the impact of life stress on depression, subjective well-being and psychological well-being in nursing students. Self-report questionnaires were used to collect data from 147 nursing students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression. Nursing students who had a higher level of depression had a higher level of life stress, as well as a higher frequency of avoidance coping. Conversely, those who had a higher level of subjective well-being and psychological well-being had a lower level of life stress, as well as a lower frequency of avoidance coping. There were also significant positive correlations between psychological well-being and problem solving coping. The results showed that avoidance coping partially mediated the effects of life stress on depression, subjective well-being and psychological well-being. The results suggest that it is necessary to offer stress management programs to reduce avoidance coping, with additional consideration of life stress and coping strategies, to prevent depression and improve well-being among nursing students.

Comparison of Depression and Life-stress by Values in University Students (대학생의 가치관에 따른 우울과 생활스트레스의 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of depression and life-stress by values in Korean university students. Data were collected by structured questionnaires form 212 students by convenient sampling methods from August to November 2011. The type of values were classified into: personal oriented values, 64.6%; social oriented values, 35.4%. There were no significant differences in depression by values. But there were significant differences in frequency of experiences and importance of life-stress by values. Also, there were significant differences for correlation between depression and life-stress by values. These results suggest that for the university student, the nursing strategies should be developed in order to improve ability to reduce life-stress and depression considering such differences by values. Especially, it is necessary to attention in management of stress and depression for students with personal oriented values.

A Study on the Relationship between Married Women's Life Stress and Life Satisfaction : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Self-elasticity and Coping stances (기혼여성의 생활스트레스와 생활만족도의 관련성에 관한 연구: 자아탄력성과 대처방식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to suggest the direction for improving the mental health of married women by analyzing the relationship between married women's life stress, life satisfaction, self-elasticity, and coping stances. For this study, 200 married women in their 30s~60s living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed on January 2~15, 2020, and the results were analyzed using multiple regression and regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that the main causes of life stress felt by married women were economic problems, relationships with their children, and conflict between mother in law and daughter in law. By analyzing the relationship with life satisfaction, it turned out that life stress had a relationship with life satisfaction, which affected the decline in their life satisfaction. In addition, it was verified that the self-elasticity and coping stances had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between the life stress and life satisfaction of married women. Accordingly, improving self-elasticity and coping stances will likely reduce the life stress of married women and boost their life satisfaction.

The Determinants of Marital Quality among Married Immigrant Women in Korea : The Importance of Life Stress and Social Support (결혼이주여성의 결혼의 질의 결정요인 : 생활스트레스와 사회적 지지의 중요성을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the social support was related to the relationships between marital quality and stress from life events among married immigrant women. The subject of this study included 182 married immigrant women lived in Busan. The results of this study were as follows: First, life stress and social support had a independently significant effect on marital quality. Second, social support had a negative effects when the relationship between life stress and marital quality mediated by social support. In varying forms and degrees, social support may play significant roles in relation to life stress and marital quality, but like married immigrant women, limited social support may be no/low effect on the relationship between life stress and marital quality. In this article, we examined the effect of social support related to life stress and marital quality and discuss the implications for research.

Factors Affecting of life stress in Middle-aged on Depression: -Mediating effect of Self-esteem and Social support- (중년 남성의 생활스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향 -자아존중감, 사회적 지지의 매개효과-)

  • This study was conducted to confirm the mediating effect of self-esteem and social support in the relationship between life stress and depression in middle-aged men. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program, t-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient, SPSS Process Macro (Model 4), and bootstrapping approach. As a result of this study, when considering the effect of self-esteem, a parameter in the relationship between life stress and depression, the direct effect of life stress on depression was .49. Considering the effect of social support as a parameter, the direct effect of life stress on depression was .50. That is, when the parameters were not considered, life stress decreased compared to the overall effect of .62 on depression. Through this, it was confirmed that self-esteem and social support had a mediating effect in the relationship between life stress and depression.
