The chronical sequences of daily precipitation are of great practical importance in the planning and operational processes of water resources system. A sequence of days with alternate dry day and wet day can be generated by two state Markov chain model that establish the subsequent daily state as wet or dry by previously calculated vconditional probabilities depending on the state of previous day. In this study, a synthetic generation model for obtaining the daily precipitation series is presented by classifying the precipitation amount in wet days into multi-states. To apply multi-state Markov chain model, the daily precipitation amounts for wet day are rearranged by grouping into thirty states with intervals for each state. Conditional probabilities as transition probability matrix are estimated from the computational scheme for stepping from the precipitation on one day to that on the following day. Statistical comparisons were made between the historical and synthesized chracteristics of daily precipitation series. From the results, it is shown that the proposed method is available to generate and simulate the daily precipitation series with fair accuracy and conserve the general statistical properties of historical precipitation series.

The OSPF protocol is the most widely used Interior Gateway Routing Protocol. Therefore, for the reliability of behavior of gigabit swiching routers, it is essential to guarantee the interoperability and the safety of the OSPF protocol. In this paper, we analyze the standard document of the OSPF protocol, so that we provide a formal specification that specifies the protocol behaviors by detailed design level using the algebraic formal method. By referring available source codes of the OSPF protocol, we supplement the formal specification to express more detailed behaviors that is not specified definitely in the standard. We also formally verify the interoperability and the safety of the protocol state machine of the specification. By showing that the formal specification specify all of the states and the transition events that appear in the standard document of the OSPF protocol, we prove that the state machine has the completeness, and prove it has the interoperability. To prove that the specification of the protocol has the safety, we formally verify the reachability, the liveness, the livelock-free property, and the deadlock-free property. As a result, we prove the protocol has the consistency. The specification and the validation are also effective to the OSPF Version 3 that inherit the protocol mechanism of the OSPF Version 2.
Ti-silicide was deposited by sputtering the composite target($TiSi_{2.6}$) on single-Si wafers and oxide on them. The heat treatment temperatures by rapid thermal annealing(RTA) have been varied in the range of $600-850^{\circ}C$ for 20seconds. It was not until RTA temperature was $800^{\circ}C$ that a stable $TiSi_2$ was formed, and the value of resistivity of that phase was $27~29{\mu}{\Omega}-cm$, which seems a little higher than that formed by the reactive method. The result of x-ray diffraction peals showed that till $750^{\circ}C$, C49 $TiSi_2$ phase was dominant, but at $800^{\circ}C$, at last, the phase was transformed into a stable C54 $TiSi_2$ phase. And, the result of x-ray photoeletron spectroscopy(XPS) measurements showed that the composition ratio of Ti and Si was 2 1 in the case of specimens treated at $800^{\circ}C$, The surface roughness of $TiSi_2$, which was condidered a weak point, was improved to a superior value of $17{\pm}1nm$, therefore increasing the possibility of applying $TiSi_2$ to semiconductor devices.
To analyze phytosociological characteristics of the Mt. Namsan nature park, Seoul, vegetation structure of north-east and south-west slopes, competition capability among species, vegetation structures of afforested species were studied with belt-transect and quadrat methods. And management plan of each vegetational zone was proposed by the results of this study and the other previous reports. Numbers of species and individuals of south-west slope were greater than those of north-east slope. But species diversity of northeast showed stability of 1.0, while that of south-west showed instability from 0.8 to 1.3. The floristic dissimilarity coefficient between two slopes showed 70-80% in which species composition between two slopes was much different. Quercus mongolica was a dominant species at north-east slope and Pinus densiflora at south-west slope. Competition capability among major species was resulted in deciduous trees>Robinia pseudoacacia>Populus alba ${\times}$ glandulosa>Pinais densiflora, Quercus mongolica>deciduous trees>Pinus densiflora. Afforested vegetation at the Mt. Namsan, especially Pinus koraiensis, Abies holophylla, Picea abies, etc showed poor growth rate. The goal of the Nam-san nature park management is to conserve natural ecosystem as it is and, if necessary, to accerlerate restoration of the disturbed ecosytem to its nature by minimum energy input as possible. Management proposal was made for six vegetational management zone ; P. derasitZoru forest zone, Q. mongolica forest zone, deciduous forest zone, afforestation zone, R. pseduoacacia zone and landscape planting zone.

This study was carried out to serve the structure of Carpinus laxiflora community in the Moojangsa valley, Tohamasan district, Gyeongju National Park. We designated 16 quadrats ($10m{\times}10m(100m^2)$) for looking at the continuation of Carpinus laxiflora community as the climax forest community. As a result of TWINSPAN, plant community was classified into 5 different communities. 3 communities are Carpinus laxiflora community which have a little different subdominant species; 1) with ombrophilous broadleaf species, 2) with Quercus serrata, 3) with others. Species diversity index was ranged from 0.4899 to 0.9490. Carpinus laxiflora communities were expected to continue as the Carpinus laxiflora community, but Carpinus laxiflora - Quercus serrata communities were expected continue or shrink up of the Carpinus laxiflora. As this study, if we insist the Carpinus laxiflora community as the climax in the temperate zone in Korea then should be analyze more survey data in various area.
Algal growth potential (AGP) bioassay were conducted to assess the water quality and fertility in the Kum River from March 1998 to June 1999. AGP values were always the highest at the conjuction site of the Kapchon, which is a tributary of the Kum River. Average value of AGP by Microcystis aeruginosa in the main river and tributary was 17.0 mg dw/l, 48.3 mg dw/l, respectively. AGP values decreased towards the lower part of the river and consisted in the water quality or nutrient analysisresults. Among the tributaries, AGP of the Kapchon, Mihochon and Soksongchon were relatively high, and the average value was 161.2, 50.3 and 125.6 mg dw/l, respectively. AGP value in the Yukuchon was lowest among the study stations with <2.7 mg dw/l. Water quality in the lower part of the Kum River deteriorated in drought season, and the AGP values of this season were higher than those in other seasons. Based on correlation analysis between AGP results and nutrients, limiting nutrient appeared to be P because SRP (r = 0.99) was higher than other nutrients, and N uptake in algal growth was preferred by $NH_4$ rather than $NO_3$. The variation of AGP was different according to localities and seasons, and it was related to nutrient fluctuation in the inlet tributary. Water quality status according to AGP was assessed to be eutrophic.

An MMIC multi-function chip for an X-band active phased array radar system has been designed and fabricated using a 0.5 ${\mu}m$ GaAs p-HEMT commercial process. A digital serial-to-parallel converter is included in this chip in order to reduce the number of the control interface. The multi-function chip provides several functions: 6-bit phase shifting, 6-bit attenuation, transmit/receive switching, and signal amplification. The fabricated multi-function chip with a relative compact size of 24 $mm^2$(6 mm${\times}$4 mm) exhibits a transmit/receive gain of 24/15 dB and a P1dB of 21 dBm from 8.5 GHz to 10.5 GHz. The RMS errors for the 64 states of the 6-bit phase shift and attenuation were measured to $7^{\circ}$ and 0.3 dB, respectively over the frequency.

This study was carried out to give basic information about the environmental conservation in Masan District. It included the actual vegetation the degree of human disturbance of vegetation, plant biomass and biomass production. The natural vegetation was nonexistent and the major plant communities of the secondary forest was P. thunbergii-Q. acutissima and Quercus forest. P. thunbergii-Q. acutissima community area was 29.2% of Masan District and the secondary forest and the afforestation area was 48% and 13% of Masan District respectively. The ecological diversity of the plant community was high value in Q. acutissima- P. thunbergii, Q.aliena and Carpinus laxiflora-Q.variabilis communicty. As the investigation of the ecological succession in Masan Forest, P. thunbergii community is edaphic climax and mixed forest will be changed gradually dominant species of Quercus species. It was implied that Genus Quercus hadnever beenso easily taken ever by the Genus Pinus which forms the edaphic climax at vast areas of forest land. In the degree of human disturbance of vegetation, the degree 7 (secondary forest 1) was 52.8% and the green spaces in Masan cover 65%, which nongreen spaces 35 %. Total amount of plant biomass produced from Masan District was estimated to be 160, 470.95 tons. Annual Production of dry matter biomass amounts to be 32,940.64 tons. Estimated amount for O$_2$produced annually from the vegetated area in Masan was 34,856 tons.

In this paper, a new mode changeable asymmetric full bridge dc/dc converter is proposed to solve the freewheeling current problem of the conventional zero voltage switching(ZVS) phase shift full bridge(PSFB) dc/dc converter of low output voltage and high output current applications. The proposed converter is operated as an asymmetric full bridge converter when the duty cycle is less than 50% and active clamp full bridge converter when the duty cycle is greater than 50%. As a result, since its freewheeling current is eliminated, the conduction loss is lower than that of the conventional ZVS PSFB dc/dc converter. Moreover, ZVS of all power switches can be ensured along a wide load ranges and output current ripple is very small. Therefore, high efficiency of the proposed converter can be achieved. Especially since its operation mode is changed to the active clamp full bridge converter during hold up time and can be operated with 50~100% duty ratio, it can produce the stable output voltage along wide input voltage range. The operational principles, theoretical analysis and design considerations are presented. To confirm the operation, validity and features of the proposed converter, experimental results from a 1.2kW($400V_{dc}/12V_{dc}$) prototype are presented.
At the aim of finding a Fehased amorphous alloy with a wide supercooled liquid region (${\Delta}T_{x}=T_{x}-T_{g}$) before crystallization, the changes in glass transition temperatudfI$T_{g}$ and crystallization temperature ($T_{x}$) by the dissolution of additional M elements were examined for the $Fe_{80}P_{10}C_{6}B_{4}$(x~6at%. M= transition metals) amorphous alloys. The ${\Delta}T_{x}$ value is 27K for the Fe,,,P,,,C,,R, alloy and increases to 40K for the addition of M=4at%Hf, 4at%Ta or 4at%Mo. The increase in ${\Delta}T_{x}$ is due to the increase of $T_{x}$ exceeding the degree in the increase in $T_{g}$. The $T_{g}$ and $T_{x}$ increase with decreasing electron concentration (e/a) from about 7 38 to 7.05. The decrease of e/a also implies the increase in the attractive bonding state between the M elements and other constitutent elements. It is therefore said that $T_{g}$ and $T_{x}$ increase kith increasing attractive bonding force.
