으로써 웹에서의 혁신적이며 크로스 사이트, 크로스 장르적인 컨텐츠 플래닝의 가능성을 시사하는데 의의가 있다고 하겠다.y used to some of interactive storytelling through hyper text in CD-ROM and web sites. • The essential oil of Artemiisa lavandulaefolia DC was analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The oil was stored at different conditions for 6 weeks and the changes of color and chemical composition during storage were checked by GC/MS. The experimental results were as follows; (1) More than 186 chemicals were detected by GC. Major components were 1,8-cineol, thujone, camphor, borneol, coumarin, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran and ${\beta}-biasbolene$. In this study, 3,3,6-trimethyl norpinanol, ${\beta}-farnesene,\;{\alpha}-curmene$ and 7-methoxy coumarin were detected as new compounds in Artemisia species. (2) It was proved that temperature and/ or light had and important effect on the changes of color and volatile components of the essential oil. The relative amounts of limonene and 1.8-cineol were decreasad, on the other hand, ${\beta}-phellandrene\;and\;{\alpha}-terpineol$ were increased during storage.

  • Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy was used to detect irradiated chicken eggs, to investigate the effect of irradiation dose on the ESR signal intensity and to identify the stability of radicals under 77 days of storage. Raw chicken eggs were irradiated with doses of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 5 kGy at room temperature using a Co-60 irradiator. The samples were prepared by separating, drying and powdering shells from the raw eggs. The irradiated chicken egg shells presented an asymmetric absorption in shape at g$_1$=2.0023$\pm$0.00004 and g$_2$=1.9979$\pm$0.00005, different from the non-irradiated ones. The strength of the ESR signal increased linearly with the applied doses (to S kGy). The intensity of the ESR signals after irradiation were stable even after 77-day of storage at 5$^{\circ}C$ and/or room temperature.

  • In order to investigate the possibilities of microbatteries using TiNi type metal hydride, TiNi films were prepared by DC magnetron sputtering. The films were deposited under various Ar flow rates, DC powers and target-to-substrate distances to find the optimum sputtering conditions. The deposition rate of TiNi thin film increased by increasing the DC power and by decreasing the Ar flow rate and target-to-substrate distance. The chemical composition of the film changed as a target-to-substrate distance. The crystal structure of the film was amorphous state just after deposition and changed to crystalline by vacuum heat treatment.

  • Study was carried out with electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy to identify irradiated Korean medicinal herbs. Pueraria thunbergiana Benth., Angelica gigas Nakai, Agaricus blazei Murill and Astragalus membranaceus Bunge were irradiated with doses of 0, 1, 5 and 10 kGy at room temperature using a Co-60 irradiator. The irradiated Korean medicinal herbs exhibited an asymmetric absorption, which was different from the non-irradiated ones. The strength of ESR signals linearly increased by dose-dependent manner (1~10 kGy) and highly positive correlation coefficients ($R^2$=0.9428~0.9942) were obtained between the irradiation doses and the corresponding ESR signal intensities. Detection of the irradiated Korean medicinal herbs was possible even after 6 weeks of storage although the signal intensities of the irradiated samples decreased until 2 weeks at room temperature.

  • This study was established to investigate the effects of Ca application on fruit mineral nutrients, quality, and browning of 'Fuyu' sweet persimmon (Diospyros kaki). Ca foliar application at 40ml/20L/tree had a greater fruit Ca concentration than did control, Ca fertigation (40ml/20L/tree), and Ca foliar application (40ml/20L/tree) coupled with IBA fertigation (40ml/20L/tree). Fruit mineral nutrient concentrations for Mg, B, and Mn were similar or lower in the foliar treatment compared to other treatments. Fruit color was not affected. Ca treatment, whether foliar applied or fertigated, was effective in maintaining fruit firmness and in decreasing the browning symptom in fruit after MA storage at $0^{\circ}C$ for 60 and 100 days. Although Ca foliar application + IBA fertigation treatment improved fruit firmness, the positive effect on the browning and decay occurrences in fruit was not shown.

  • The antimicrobial and antioxidative effects of Opuntia ficus-indica vur. saboten (OP) extract with different solvents and extraction methods were investigated. In general, antimicrobial activity of OP was higher in extracts by reflux than in extracts by shake. However, no significant difference in antimicrobial activity was observed between methanol, ethanol and water extract. The antimicrobial activity was significant against all microbes tested, especially against Pseudomonas aeruginosa by shake extract and against Escherichia coli O-157 by reflux extract. A severe morphological change with destruction of outer layer was observed in Salmonella enteritidis treated with water extract. Though OP extract in hydrogen activity was lower than 0.1% BHT, the activity of OP extract showed very high effectivenss than the activity of control. OP extract showed a similar extent of antioxidative activity with BHT.

  • In this work, PLLA/EGMA blends were prepared by melt blending of biodegradable Poly-L-lactic acid(PLLA) with Poly(ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate)(EGMA) and Engage as impact modifiers by twin screw extruder. Blend compositions of PLLA/Impact modifier blends were 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 and 0/100, respectively. Also, Talc was added to 3 PLLA rich phases on PLLA/EGMA blends. The morphology, viscoelastic/mechanical properties were characterized by FESEM, DMA, UTM and Izod impact tester. DMA and Izod impact test data showed that storage modulus at room temperature with increasing EGMA and Engage contents decreased, and impact strength increased. However, storage modulus at room temperature increased by adding talc. From FESEM image, we observed that domain phase was well dispersed into matrix. Although the tensile strength and flexural modulus were decreased with increasing the content of EGMA and Engage in them, they could be supplemented by adding talc.

  • ${\alpha}$-amylase was investigated as an antistaling agent for Backsulgie, a traditional rice cake. Rice powder was mixed with ${\alpha}$-amylase, fermented for 2 hr at 37$^{\circ}C$, and steamed for 20 min. Rice cake was stored at room temperature or freezer for 4 days, and analyzed to determined the changes of chemical and sensory properties. When ${\alpha}$-amylase was added to rice cake, the content of reducing sugars and the yellow color of the cake were increased, and the water activity was decreased. Soft and moist textural properties were apparent in ${\alpha}$-amylase-added rice cakes by sensory evaluation. X-ray diffraction showed a V pattern after 4 days of storage which indicated the starch of rice cake was not retrograded. However, there was no significant difference in moisture content between enzyme-treated and non-treated rice cakes. Above results suggest that ${\alpha}$-amylase treatment produced dextrins which consequently bound with water and inhibited the retrogradation of rice cake.
