  • This paper describes an accurate and stable current control method of switched reluctance motors(SRMs), which have recently attracted considerable wide attention owing to their favorable features, such as high performance, high durability, structural simplicity, low cost, etc. In most cases, the PI controllers(PICC) have been used mostly for the current control of electric motors because their algorithm and selection of controller gain are relatively simpler compared to other controllers. On the other hand, the PI controller requires an adjustment of the controller gains for each operating point when nonlinear system parameters change rapidly. This paper presents a stable current control method of an SRM using self-tuning fuzzy current controller(STFCC) under nonlinear parameter variation. The performance of the considered method is validated via a dynamic simulation of the current controlled SRM drive using Matlab/Simulink program.

Proof-of-principle Experimental Study of the CMA-ES Phase-control Algorithm Implemented in a Multichannel Coherent-beam-combining System (다채널 결맞음 빔결합 시스템에서 CMA-ES 위상 제어 알고리즘 구현에 관한 원리증명 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, the feasibility of using the covariance-matrix-adaptation-evolution-strategy (CMA-ES) algorithm in a multichannel coherent-beam-combining (CBC) system was experimentally verified. We constructed a multichannel CBC system utilizing a spatial light modulator (SLM) as a multichannel phase-modulator array, along with a coherent light source at 635 nm, implemented the stochastic-parallel-gradient-descent (SPGD) and CMA-ES algorithms on it, and compared their performances. In particular, we evaluated the characteristics of the CMA-ES and SPGD algorithms in the CBC system in both 16-channel rectangular and 19-channel honeycomb formats. The results of the evaluation showed that the performances of the two algorithms were similar on average, under the given conditions; However, it was verified that under the given conditions the CMA-ES algorithm was able to operate with more stable performance than the SPGD algorithm, as the former had less operational variation with the initial phase setting than the latter. It is emphasized that this study is the first proof-of-principle demonstration of the CMA-ES phase-control algorithm in a multichannel CBC system, to the best of our knowledge, and is expected to be useful for future experimental studies of the effects of additional channel-number increments, or external-phase-noise effects, in multichannel CBC systems based on the CMA-ES phase-control algorithm.

A Study on the Development of Collision Avoidance System for Small-Sized Vessel Using WAVE Communication Technology (WAVE 통신기반 소형 선박 충돌회피 보조시스템 개발)

  • According to the statistics provided by Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal for the year 2018, the majority of marine accidents in the past four years have occurred in fishing boats and small-sized boats. Negligent behavior resulting from not looking outside and non-compliance with navigation laws are the primary reasons behind ship collisions. Although safety education and training are reinforced to prevent such accidents, they still occur frequently. Hence, technical methods are continuously being developed to reduce ship collisions caused by human cause. The objective of this study is to reduce ship collisions by employing the WAVE communication system, which has short transmitting and receiving periods that can be incorporated for high-speed small-sized vessels. In this study, the suitability of the communication range was examined, and the appropriate range and timing for avoidance motion were accordingly selected, and a control algorithm based on the same was thereby designed. Consequently normal operation of the collision avoidance system was verified by connecting and simulating the proposed WAVE communication router-controller-steering equipment.

Indoor Localization Method using Single Inertial and Ultrasonic Sensors (단일 관성 센서와 초음파를 이용한 실내 위치추정 방법)

  • Most of intelligent services provided today work based on the users' location. Numerous devices for indoor localization services have their own characteristic functions and operating systems, we need the interoperability and diversity of middleware to connect and control these devices. The indoor localization method using existing inertial sensors are relatively less efficient because of additional cost according to the size of space. Accordingly, the indoor user localization method proposed in this study supports integrated services using OSGi framework, an open source project, and solves problems in inertial sensor based on accurate distance to a specific object measured using ultrasonic sensor. Furthermore, it reduces errors resulting from difference in response rate by adding the reliability item.

  • Solid State Drive(SSD)는 NAND Flash Memory와 이틀 제어하는 Controller로 구성되는 차세대 대용량 저장매체로써 기존의 HDD에 비해 상대적으로 읽기 및 쓰기가 빠르고,동작 중 전력소비가 적으며, 또한 발열이 낮고, 강한 내구성을 가지고 있기 때문에 PC에서 HDD보다 더 적합한 저장매체라 할 수 있다. 하지만, 가격이 비싸다는 점과 아직 안정성이 검증되지 않은 이유로 HDD를 대체하는데 시간이 더 필요하다. 안정성을 높이기 위해 많은 개발자들이 노력을 하고 있음에도 불구하고 공통적으로 겪는 문제점중에 하나가 바로 객관적인 성능 및 품질을 판단하는 테스트 기준이 없다는 것이다. 본 논문에서 다루고자 하는 내용은 기존 HDD 및 SSD 테스트의 한계침을 찾아보고 이를 보완한 테스트 기준을 제안함으로써, 많은 개발자들이 SSD 개발에 있어 좀 더 정확한 테스트로 SSD의 성능 및 안정성을 높이는데 가여할 수 있도록 SSD 테스트 관점에서의 Key word를 결론으로 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문은 다중 모듈 통합형 태양광 발전 시스템의 발전 단가를 낮추기 위한 MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) 방법에 관한 것이다. 기존의 다중 모듈 통합형 태양광 발전 시스템에서는 각 모듈마다 MPPT 동작을 필요로 하기 때문에 전류센서와 전압센서를 모두 사용하며, 이는 발전 단가를 상승시키는 원인 중 하나가 된다. 본 논문에서는 시스템의 제작비용을 낮추기 위하여 다중 모듈 통합형 태양광 발전 시스템에서 상대적으로 가격이 비싼 전류센서의 사용을 줄여, 여러 개의 모듈에서도 하나의 전류센서만을 사용하는 MPPT 방법을 제안하고 PSIM 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 입증하고자 한다.

  • An orthogonal antenna is presented for reader application of radio frequency identification (RFID) at 433 MHz. Two 1x2 sub-arrays are orthogonally placed on a ground plane and two different feeding networks are applied to control horizontal and vertical radiation current flows for each sub-array, respectively. Inverted-F structures are used as radiation elements and can generate two linear polarizations by relative current distribution of radiators forming sub-arrays. Antenna gains are 2.7 and 0.4 dBi and isolation between two input ports is less than 25dB.

A Study on Performance Analysis of Image Interpolation Filters for Field-based Warping and Morphing (필드 기반 워핑과 모핑을 위한 영상 보간 필터의 성능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this paper is to propose the image interpolation method with pseudomedian filter for Field warping and morphing, and to evaluate and analyze its subjective image quality. The Field warping relatively gives rise to more computing overhead, but it can use the control line to control the warping result with more elaboration. Due to the working characteristics of the image warping and morphing process, various complex geometrical transformations occur and a image interpolation technique is needed to effectively process them. Of the various interpolation techniques, bilinear interpolation which shows above average performance is the most widely used. However, this technology has its limits in the reconstructivity of diagonal edges. The proposed interpolation method is to efficiently combine the bilinear interpolation and the pseudomedian filter-based interpolation which shows good performance in the reconstructivity of diagonal edges. According to the proposed interpolation method, we could get more natural warping and morphing results than other interpolation methods.

  • 본 논문은 필드 기반 영상 워핑을 위한 Pseudomedian 필터 기반 영상 보간법을 제안하고 주관적인 화질을 분석$\cdot$평가함에 그 목적이 있다. 대표적인 영상 워핑 기술 중 하나인 필드 기반 워핑은 상대적으로 많은 연산량을 요구하는 것에 반해 제어선을 이용하여 좀 더 세밀하게 워핑 결과를 제어할 수 있는 것이 장점이다. 필드 기반 영상 워핑의 동작 특성상, 국부적인 영상 확대와 축소 및 회전등과 같은 다양한 기하학적인 변형이 복합적으로 발생하게 되는데 역방향 매핑 과정에서 소스영상과 목적 영상의 화소가 정수 화소 단위로 대응되지 않을 경우, 목적 영상에 대응시킬 화소값을 산출하기 위해 적합한 영상 보간 기술이 필요하다. 다양한 보간 기술들 중에서 평균적으로 우수한 결과를 제공하는 양선형 보간이 보편적으로 사용되고 있으나, 이 보간 기술은 대각선 방향의 윤곽선 재현에 한계를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 필드 기반 영상 워핑을 수행할 시에 윤곽선 재현에 우수한 특성을 보이는 Pseudomedian 필터 보간과 양선형 보간을 효과적으로 결합하여 양자의 장점을 보간 결과에 반영함으로써 양선형 보간만을 이용하는 필드 기반 워핑 기술에 비해 자연스러운 워핑 결과를 제공할 수 있었다. 제안된 방법의 타당성과 보편성을 검증하기 위해 서로 다른 분포 특성을 갖는 영상을 대상으로 주간적인 화질 측면에서 그 성능을 분석$\cdot$평가하였다.

The Performance Analysis of TRC Dropper to improve fairness on DiffServ Networks (DiffServ 네트워크에서 공평성 향상을 위한 TRC Dropper의 성능 분석)

  • The average window size is most closely related to average throughput. In order to improve fairness, the proposed dropper tries to control the window size of each flow to equal level by intentional packet drop. Intentional packet drop is performed only to the flows that have been occupied bandwidth in a large amount. Because of intentional packet drop, this flow cut down its transmission rate to a half. Accordingly, somewhat capacity of core link comes into existence. And other flow can use this new capacity of this link. Hence other flows have more throughput than before. In this paper, we propose the TRC (Transmission Rate Control) Dropper improving the fairness between individual flows of aggregated sources on DiffServ network. It has the fairness improvement mechanism mentioned above paragraph.
