만화로 보는 농약안전사용 및 보관

  • 최근 안전성 향상을 위한 업계의 개발노력과 일선 지도기관의 계도, 농업인의 안전사용 의식 향상 등이 어우러져 살포 중 중독사고가 현저히 줄어드는가 하면 우리 농산물 안전성 또한 지속적으로 향상되고 있다. 특히 우리농산물 안전성은 지난해까지 1.1%였던 부적합률이 올해 상반기에는 0.8%로 낮아져 더욱 안전한 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 그럼에도 이를 비웃기라도 하듯 최근 분제농약을 밀가루로 오인, 부침개를 만들어 팔아 발생한 식품안전사고는 일어탁수(一魚濁水)의 우려가 충분한 좋지 않은 사례가 될까 적잖이 걱정이다. 물론 이를 계기로 농촌진흥청과 업계는 제품자체에 검은색을 내는 색소와 고약한 냄새가 나는 악취제, 잘못해 먹었을때 즉시 토하도록 하는 구토제를 추가 사입, 밀가루와 확연히 구별토록 하고 취급제한기준을 강화하는 한편 그 이행여부를 철저히 점검키로 하는 등 지난 2003년에 이은 강도 높은 분제농약 개선방안을 마련함으로써 재발방지를 위한 발 빠른 움직임을 보이고 있다. 그러나 무엇보다 중요한 것은, 농약에 대한 각자의 안전의식이다. 농약은 의약품이 아니다. 올바른 사용 및 보관에 대한 평소 인식을 단단히 가져야 한다. 그래야만 안전을 담보할 수 있기 때문이다. 여기에서는 본격적인 농약사용 성수기를 맞아 농약 살포 전과 살포 중, 살포 후에 주의해야 할 사항을 만화를 통해 알아본다.

Design Factors of Boom Sprayer(I) - Spray Patterns of Nozzles - (붐방제기 살포장치의 설계요인 구명을 위한 실험적 연구(I) -노즐의 분무유형-)

  • This study was conducted to find design factors of spraying device of the boom sprayer for low volume application. Four types of nozzles(standard flat nozzle, drift guard nozzle, even flat nozzle, and hollow cone nozzle) were used for the spray characteristic experiment. Spray patterns of the nozzles were distinguished by the nozzle type, spray distance, and spray direction. The flow rate was proportional to the square root of spray pressure in all nozzles. Increased nozzle height improved spray distribution at reduced pressures and/or increased spacing. Distribution tended to improve as pressure increased within the range of pressures used for fan nozzles.

  • In this paper, structural analysis was conducted by designing a ultra low volume sprinkler applied to spray liquid and applying a ANSYS commercial code for three dimensional finite element method to the ultra low volume sprinkler. Based on this numerical structural analysis, stress, strain and total deformation were obtained and the structure improvement of the ultra low volume sprinkler was made along with improved productivity and shorten design period.

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of several kinds of calcium foliar application and drip irrigation on the bitter pit incidence of apple. CaCl2, inorganic calcium compound, was the most effective in increasing the calcium concentration in the fruit flesh, and reducing bitter pit incidence. Calcium spray in the later part of the growing season was more effective than in the earlier part. Drip irrigation applied during the dry spells increased calcium concentration in the fruit flesh, and reduced bitter pit incidence.

Risk Assessment of Pesticide Operator Using Modified UK-POEM in Korean Rice Paddy (변형된 UK-POEM을 이용한 한국 논 농약살포자의 위해성 평가)

  • This study was performed in order to assess the risk of pesticide operator in korean rice paddy. The amount of exposure was calculated based on the informations of 48 kind of items that are used the form of a spraying in korean rice paddy. The risks of these pesticides were assessed to compare the exposure dosage with AOEL (acceptable operator exposure level) which was released form developed countries. When the operator spraying pesticides using motor sprayer, 17 items showed the risk for operator if the operator have not worn the personal protective equipment (PPE), and 6 items showed the risk for operator if the operator have worn the PPE. These result were indicated that the risk of pesticide operator was very high in korean rice paddy.

  • Bacterial blossom blight of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) has been mainly controlled by antibiotics. Among 15 candidate chemicals, streptomycin sulfate oxytetracycline WP, streptomycin copper hydroxide WP and oxolinic acid WP were selected as preventive bactericides against bacterial blossom blight of kiwfruit through in vitro and in vivo test. Spray of streptomycin sulfate oxytetracycline WP and streptomycin copper hydroxide WP at flowering period was most effective in controlling bacterial blossom blight of kiwifruit. Among the various combinations of spray times at different spray periods, optimum spray program of the preventive bactericides for the control of bacterial blossom blight of kiwifruit was turned out to be 3 times application with 10 day-interval from early May during the flowering season of kiwifruits.
