Temperature-dependent Fecundity of Summer Generation Adults of Unaspis yanonensis (Hemiptera: Diaspididae) (온도에 따른 화살깍지벌레 여름세대 성충의 산란특성)

  • The fecundity of summer generation adults of arrowhead scale, Unaspis yanonensis (Kuwana) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae), was examined at constant temperatures. The total fecundity increased up to $29^{\circ}C$ and declined thereafter. Total fecundity reached a maximum of 254.5 eggs (crawlers) per female at $29^{\circ}C$. Females showed periodic oviposition activity but the pattern differed with temperature. Three or more oviposition cycles were occurred at 25 and $29^{\circ}C$. At the other temperatures, the 2nd oviposition cycle was reduced or obscure. And oviposition cycle after the 2nd cycle was not obvious at low or high temperatures. The fecundity of the 1st cycle was significantly different according to temperature, showing higher fecundity at 25 and $29^{\circ}C$. Fecundity after 1st cycle at 13, 17 and $21^{\circ}C$ were lower than at 25 and $29^{\circ}C$. The sex ratios of hatched nymphs in terms of female : male in 13, 17, 25, 29 and $33^{\circ}C$ were 1 : 0.48, 1 : 4.79, 1 : 2.48, 1 : 1.85 and 1 : 0.56, respectively.

  • 육용종계의 주기능은 산란이다. 그러나 사료를 자유채식시키면 체중이 과도하게 증가하고 비만해져 정상적인 산란을 기대할 수 없게 된다. 이 해결방안은 무엇보다 사료섭취의 제한으로만이 가능하다.

  • 1994년 1월부터 12월까지 1년간에 걸쳐 우리 나라 서해안 비인만의 조간대에서 채집된 떡조개, Dosinorbis(Phacosoma) japonocus(Reeve)를 대상으로 성숙 및 산란시기를 규명하기 위해 생식소 여포지수(GFI)및 생식소지수(GI)의 월별변화, 생식주기, 월별 난경 조성 및 성비를 조사하였다. 본 종은 자웅이체이고, 생식소는 중장선 하부와 소화맹낭 그리고 섬유성 결체조직과 근섬유에 의해 치밀하게 구성된 외측 근섬유층 사이에 위치하고 있다. 산란기 추정을 위해 조사된 GFI와 GI의 월별변화 양상은 생식주기와 일치하는 경향을 보였다. 난경 55-65$\mu\textrm{m}$인 성숙란들은 젤라틴성 막에 의해 둘러싸여 있다. 본 종의 생식주기는 초기활성기 (12-2월), 후기활성기(2-5월), 성숙기(5-8월), 부분산란기(6-8월)그리고 퇴화 및 비활성기(8-12월)의 연속적인 5단계로 나눌 수 있었다. 산란기는 수온 및 먹이이용 가능성과 밀접하게 관련되어 있는 것으로 보이며, 산란은 수온이 2$0^{\circ}C$ 이상인 6월부커 8월까지 일어났고, 산란성기는 6월과 7월이었다. 산란기는 단지 그 해 하계에만 일어남으로써 1년에 1회의 산란기를 가지나 그 산란 빈도 횟수는 1년에 1회의 산란계절 중 2회 이상 일어나는 것으로 추정된다. 암.수 개체들의 성비는 통계 처리한 결과 1:1(x$^{2}$=0.08, P>0.05)로 나타나 암.수간 성비에 차이가 없었다.

  • A theoretical method for the TE polarized electromagnetic scattering on a periodic strip grating over a grounded dielectric slab is considered. The numerical results for an analysis of the plane wave scattering from the structure are presented such as normalized mode amplitude and relative reflected power against normalized dielectric slab height, relative reflected power against angle of incidence and distribution of strip current density. Detailed discussions on the Bragg blazing phenomena observed in the geometry are give.

  • Factors influencing elongation of the ovipositor in the bitterling Rhodeus uyekii were examined under several conditions. The ovipositors of the females were periodically elongated under the presence of mussels or males, and in some cases without either. When females were reared without mussels and males, the ovipositor did not elongate in one fish in a large aquarium, but it did become elongated in another fish in a small aquarium and in many fishes in a large aquarium. Duration of the elongated state of the ovipositor was 1~3 days (mean 1.2~2.5 days) and the periodicity of elongation was 4~15 days (mean 6.4~11.9 days). Length of the elongated ovipositor was 68~100% (mean 78.5~98.8%). Length of ovipositor in the interpeak period was 20~51% (mean 27.3~33.1%); in the post-elongation period it did not elongated further 3~30% (mean 11.1~19.9%). The effect of aquarium size and number of individuals in the aquarium on the elongation of the ovipositor, and inter-specific or inter-generic differences based on previous reports are discussed.

이석의 일륜을 이용한 뱀장어 Anguilla japonica의 산란기

  • 뱀장어 Anguilla japonica는 민물에서 자라고 알을 낳을 때가되면 바다로 회유한다. 그러나, 해양에서 성숙된 뱀장어나 알이 채집되지 않아 정확한 산란기는 알려져 있지 않았다. 어류의 이석에는 하루주기로 나이테(일륜)가 형성되기 때문에 이 일륜의 수로부터 산란기를 추정할 수 있다. 지금까지 실뱀장어 이석의 미세성장선수로부터 산란기를 추정한 자료의 문제점을 분석하고, 산란장 주변에서 채집된 댓잎뱀장어(leptocephalus) 이석의 미세성장선수로부터 산란기를 추정하였다. (중략)

  • Reproductive cycle with the ovarian developmental phases, first sexual maturity of the female venus clam, Cyclina sinensis, was investigated by a histological study, and the number of spawned eggs and spawning frequency by artificial spawning induction of the clams were estimated. Samples were collected from the intertidal zone of Simpo, Gimje city, Korea between January and December, 2001. The reproductive cycle of this species can be classified into five successive stages; early active (February to April), late active (March to June), ripe (May to August), spent (July to September), and spent and inactive (September to February). The spawning period was once a year between July and August, a spawning peak was seen in July and August. Percentages of first sexual maturity of female clams of 25.1-30.0 mm in shell length were 64.3%, and 100% for the clams > 40.1 mm. The number of the eggs released from each clam by spawning induction increased as the size of clam in terms of shell length increased. The mean number of the eggs released from the second induction of spawning was 76.87% of the number of the eggs released in the first spawning. Our data indicated that the interval of each spawning was estimated to be approximately 15-17 (average 16.5) days.

  • 가무락조개, Cyclina sinensi(Gmelin)는 백합과에 속하는 식용 이매패로서 한국, 중국, 일본의 연안에 분포한다. 특히, 우리나라에서는 서ㆍ남해안 해역의 니질에 서식하며(Yoo, 1976), 지금까지 가무락조개에 관한 연구ㆍ조사는 일본 히로시마산 가무락조개의 초기발생(Haragaki, 1966)과 한국산 가무락조개의 인공산란유발ㆍ인공수정 및 성장(Choi, 1971; Choi and Song, 1973; Choi, 1975), 생식주기(Lee and Cho, 1985) 등이 정성분석으로 보고되어 있을 뿐 정량적 분석에 의한 정확한 산란기 등이 제대로 밝혀져 있지 않은 실정이다.   • Annual reproductive cycle of the file fish, Thamnaconus modestus (Gunther), was histologically investigated. Samples were collected monthly in the coastal waters of Chungmun, south of Cheju Island, Korea from July 1997 to June 1999. In males and females of T. modestus GSI values reached the maximum in June and May, respectively. Reproductive cycle could be divided into the following successive stages: in females, growing stage (March to April), mature stage (April to May), spawning stage (May to June), degenerative and resting stage (July to February), and in males, growing stage (January to March), mature stage (April to May), spent stage (May to June), degenerative and resting stage (July to December), respectively. To clarify the spawning cycle of female in T. modestus, some were examined, that is, the weekly changes of GSI, detail developmental stages in the ovary and the weekly changes of sex steroid hormones ($E_2$ and T) levels in plasma during the spawning period. Throughout histological observation of the ovary during the spawning period, T. modestus belonged to an asynchronous and multiple spawner. Changes of plasma $E_2$ and T levels were similar to the changes of GSI and ovary maturity.
