Effects of Cordyceps ochraceostromat, Silkworm Cocoon and Conjugated Linoleic Acid Addition on the Quality of Cremi Manufactured using Spent Layer Recovered Protein (동충하초 분말, 누에고치 분말 또는 Conjugated Linoleic Acid의 첨가가 산란 노계 회수단백질을 이용하여 제조한 Cremi의 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effects of Cordyceps ochraceostromat, silkworm cocoon and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) addition on the quality of cremi during storage, this study was conducted. Cremis were prepared using a 20% spent layer breast recovered protein to replace Alaska pollack with the addition of 0.1% silkworm cocoon powder (T1), 0.05% silkworm cocoon powder + 0.05% Cordyceps ochraceostromat powder (T2), and 0.05% silkworm cocoon powder + 0.05% CLA. All manufactured cremis were vacuum-packaged, stored at $10{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and finally evaluated for their quality on 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks of storage. The pH, whiteness, gel strength and breaking force of cremis from T2 were higher than those of samples derived from either T1 or T3. However, cremis from T2 showed low shear force values when compared to other cremis (p<0.05). Therefore, the results indicate that cremis contained 0.05% silkworm cocoon powder and 0.05% Cordyceps ochraceostromat combination (T2) may be recommendable to induce customers to buy, thereby, it may be beneficial to both manufacturers and consumers in market.

A Study on a New Broadband 180° Phase Shifter using the Network with Great Phase Dispersive Characteristics (강한 위상 산란 특성을 갖는 회로망을 이용한 새로운 광대역 180°위상 천이기에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, a broadband phase shifter structure using a new switched network was proposed. A new reference network is composed of coupled lines and 45$^{\circ}$open and short stubs, which are shunted at the edge points of a main line, respectively, A delay network is composed of only a standard transmission line. It is possible to design a broadband 180$^{\circ}$phase shifter that phase dispersive characteristics by an impedance ratio R of coupled lines and greater phase dispersive characteristics by characteristic impedances Zm, Zs of a main line and stubs are used together. By considering a structure symmetry, the even and odd mode analysis was performed to obtain theoretical S-parameters of the proposed phase shifter. Also, through computer simulation on the basis of derived equations, design graphs were presented to optimally design a 180$^{\circ}$broadband phase shifter. Design graphs provide the values of characteristic impedances Zm, Zs, and I/O match and phase bandwidths. To verify electrical performances of the broadband phase shifter proposed in this paper, low different 180$^{\circ}$phase shifters, operated at the center frequency 3 GHz were designed and fabricated using design graphs, and were experimented. One of them was designed as a standard Schiffman structure to compare with electrical performances. Measured results of each phase shifter to satisfy simultaneously design conditions of I/O match (VSWR=1.15:1) and maximum phase deviation $({\varepsilon}_{{\Delta}{\phi}}={\pm}2^{\circ})$ were well in agreement with corresponding simulation results over impedance match and phase error bandwidths, and showed broadband characteristics.

Comparisons of the Carcass Characteristics of Male White Mini Broilers, Ross Broilers and Hy-Line Brown Chicks under the Identical Rearing Condition (동일 조건에서 사육한 수컷 백세미, 브로일러 및 산란종 병아리에 있어서 도체 특성의 비교)

  • The present study was conducted to compare the carcass yields and meat characteristics of three types of commercial male chicks White mini broilers, Ross broilers and Hy-Line brown chicks under the identical feeding condition. One-hundred 1-d chicks of each type were randomly placed into four pens per group (25 chicks per pen) and fed corn-soybean meal based commercial diets for 35d, 18d or 49d, respectively. At the end of the feeding trial, the birds were sacrificed and subjected to carcass measurements. The dressing percentages of White mini broilers and Ross broilers were significantly higher (P<0.05) than that of Hy-Line brown cockerels. The rate of breast meat of Hy-Line brown cockerels was significantly lower (P<0.05) than those of White mini broilers and Ross broilers. However, Hy-Line brown cockerels showed higher (P<0.05) leg meats than the others. There were no significant differences in serum total cholesterol and the activities of glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase among the groups. The breast meats of White mini broilers presented highest lightness value. The yellowness of breast and redness of leg meats of White mini broilers and Ross broilers were significantly higher (P<0.05) than those of Hy-Line brown cockerels. There were no significant differences in the SOD-like activity and change of pH in edible meats among the groups. The meat color in White mini broilers was significantly higher than that of Hy-Line brown cockerels. No significant differences were observed in term of flavor, tenderness and overall acceptability. In conclusion, the physico-chemical properties and sensory characteristics of edible meats were not greatly affected by genotype if they were similar body weights and kept under the identical feeding condition. But the Hy-Line brown cockerels were less desirable as a meat-type strain due to lower carcass yields and inferior growth and feed conversion ratio.

  • 제지산업에 경쟁력을 부여할 수 있는 방법의 일환으로 제지용 도공안료의 표면개질을 시도하였다 은(Ag)이 항균력이 있다는 것이 여러 사람에 의해 증명된바 있으므로 이 은의 항균력을 제지용 무기안료에 이산화티탄과 함께 표면개질하고 다기능성 복합 항균분체를 설계하였다. 표면개질장치에 설치한 기상분사장치를 통해 은 용액을 고압기상분사로 TiO$_2$입자 표면에 Coating 하였다 이때의 분무각도는 60$^{\circ}$이고 오리피스 직경은 0.6mm, 분사 압력은 14kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 이다. TiO$_2$에 은 용액을 기상분사하여 코팅시킨 후 표면개질 계산식에 의한 배합비로 모입자(clay, CaCO$_3$, PE)와 자입자(TiO$_2$)를 혼합하였고, 분체의 대전현상을 이용하여 모입자 주위에 자입자를 부착시킨 후, 고속기류중 충격력으로 표면개질처리를 하였다 표면개질 장치를 사용하여 제지용 무기안료 표면에 은용액이 코팅된 TiO$_2$를 개질 시켰다. 각종 물성(항균성, 백색도, 산란도)과 XRD, SEM 측정을 통해 기능성 항균분체의 실용방안 가능성에 대하여 조사하였다.

Effects of Dietary Supplementation of Illite on Humoral Immunity against Salmonella typhimurium Flagella Antigen in Laying Hens (산란계에 Illite 급여가 Salmonella typhimurium 편모항원에 대한 체액성 면역 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to investigate dietary effects of illite on humoral immune response against Salmonella typhimurium flagella in Hyline Brown laying hens. Total of twenty eight 36-week-old hens were divided into two groups; The first was fed commercial diet as control and the other was fed diet containing 2 % illite. Each group was divided into 2 sub-groups and then performed immunization of Salmonella flagella with different adjuvants which were Freund's adjuvant and croton oil. The rates of egg-production in all groups were normal range but no difference was found between illite-treated and untreated groups. The serum antibody titers of Freund's adjuvant-used subgroup in illite fed groups were significantly increased, especially from 6-to 9-week after $1^{st}$ immunization compared to those of control groups (p<0.05). And the antibody titers of croton oil-used subgroup in illite-fed groups were also significantly increased, especially at 4-, 6- and 7-week (p<0.05). The results demonstrated that the feeding illite stimulated the immune response against S. typhimurium flagella antigen in laying hens and suggest that the supplementation of illite to the poultry diets may support protective effects against bacterial infections such as Salmonellosis.

Monthly Gonadal and Sex Hormonal Changes of Indoor-Reared Seabass, Lateolabrax japonicus during Annual Reproductive Cycle (실내사육 농어, Lateolabrax japonicus의 생식소 및 성호르몬의 주년 변화)

  • The sea bass, Lateoiabrax japonicus is a highly valued fish in aquaculture in South Korea. For establishment of seedling production of sea bass,1 japonicus, we examined change of gonadal development and plasma steroid levels of sea bass reared in indoor tank. Male matured unsimultaneously faster than females and spawning of females took place between the end of January and March. After the spawning period, and until the following January, all the females were in preyitello genesis and in some males, spermatogenetic activity restarted gradually. In October, under reducing photoperiod, cortical alveoli appeared in growing oocyte and the development of spermatogenesis greatly increased. Between October and february, vitellogenesis and spermatogenesis occurred respectively in female and male and gonadosomatic index increased from 4.31 to $24.07\%$ in female and upper 6o/o in male. Also, two sex hormones were analyzed during the course of a reproductive cycle in the sea bass: plasma levels of the gonadal steroid testosterone (T) and estradiol-l7$\beta$ (E_{2}). Variation of the plasma concentrations of T and E, appeared to depend on gonad stages. Plasma T and E, levels were high from November to January, suggesting that an sufficient gonadal stimulation by both hormones may undergoing a processes for the formation of sperm and oocyte.

Effects of Regulate in Feed Intakes on Performance and Meat Quality in Old Laying Hens (산란성계에서 사료 급이량 조절이 생산성과 계육품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of reducing feed intake on performance and meat quality in old laying hens. A total of 200 Hy-Line Brown laying hens (100 weeks old) were randomly allotted to five dietary treatments: control (100% daily feed intake), 90%, 60%, 50%, and 20% daily feed intake. Each treatment was replicated four times with 10 birds per replication and two birds per cage. Ten-bird units were arranged according to a randomized block design. The feeding trial lasted for 4 weeks under a 16L:8D lighting regimen. The results indicated that the daily feed intake correlated with hen-day egg production and feed conversion ratios (P<0.05). The carcass yields and partial ratios were also correlated with daily feed intake (P<0.05). The levels of leukocytes (without basophils) were higher in the 50% and 20% daily feed intake groups than in the other groups. The concentrations of dry matter, crude ash, crude fat, and crude protein, water holding capacity, cooking loss, and fatty acids in the breast meat did not decrease as the daily feed intake decreased. In conclusion, reducing daily feed intake decreased laying performance and carcass yield but had no effect on breast meat quality.

  • 페킨종은 중국이 원산으로 미국과 영국에서 개량되어 현재 세계 각국에서 널리 사육되고 있는 난육겸용종의 대표적인 품종이다. 페킨종을 종자로 이용하여 육종한 육용개량 좋은 체구가 크고 발육도 빨라 현재 전세계에서 오리고기 생산용으로 많이 사육되고 있다. 페킨종 오리의 생산은 상업용 가금산업 중에서도 고도로 전문화된 분야이다. 종오리의 번식력은 육계나 산란계들 사이에서도 굉장히 높게 나타난다. 그러나 페킨종 오리의 경우 사육시 상당히 특별하고 흥미롭기 때문에 관리상의 필요한 점이 굉장히 많다.
