Perception and Sexual Attitude Unwed Mother in Nursing Students and Obstetrics and Pediatric Nurses (간호대학생과 산과 및 아동 간호사의 미혼모에 대한 인식과 성태도)

  • This study was undertaken to identify the perception and sexual attitude of nursing students and obstetrics and pediatric nurses towards unwed mothers, and to identify differences in the general characteristics. Data were collected as a self-reported questionnaire survey from September, 2018 to January, 2019. Subjects included 94 nursing students enrolled at 2 nursing colleges, and 101 nurses of 8 hospitals located in the B & C Metropolitan. The data collected was analyzed by descriptive statistics, frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Comparing results obtained from nursing students and nurses revealed a statistically significant difference in their overall perception of an unwed mother and sexual attitude. The perception of an unwed mother showed significant differences considering the grade, age and sibling status of nursing students, whereas nurses revealed significantly different perceptions according to their age, occupational position, clinical career, career of current work department, marital status, and children status. Sexual attitude was significantly different for nursing students according to their experience contact with unwed mother, whereas perception of nurses differed significantly for sexual attitude according to experience contact with unwed mother, types of hospital, and marital status. We propose that data obtained from this research can be used as basic data for research and education related to the perception of unwed mothers and sexual attitude of nursing students and nurses.

Effects and Adequacy of High-Fidelity Simulation-Based Training for Obstetrical Nursing (산과 간호 영역에서의 시뮬레이션 실습 교육의 효과 및 적절성)

  • Purpose: Clinical training for nursing students is limited to rudimentary skills to avoid potential risks. Simulation-Based Training (SBT) can overcome the shortcomings of clinical training. We evaluated the educational effect of SBT for obstetrical nursing students using high-fidelity simulation courses. Methods: We developed a simulation program for obstetrical nursing students to practice nursing skills that are necessary to provide quality care. The program consisted of four sessions. 1st: An orientation and a preliminary test. 2nd: Learning core skills required in obstetrical nursing. 3rd: Testing each student with scenario. 4th: Providing a debriefing session. At the beginning of the program, students were surveyed about their self-confidence in obstetrical nursing care, and at the end of the program, they were surveyed about the adequacy of SBT as well as self-confidence. Results: Students' self-confidence showed a significant difference before and after simulation. Mean adequacy of SBT was $7.15{\pm}1.35$ (out of 10). Most students became more interested in Women's Health Nursing after SBT. Conclusion: The results from evaluating the effects of simulation-based obstetrical nursing training show that SBT provides invaluable clinical experience for obstetrical nursing students by overcoming the lack of actual clinical involvement in clinical training programs.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the current status of the biological nursing curriculum and faculties' perceptions on biological nursing subjects in South Korea. Methods: Biological nursing subjects' titles and credits were searched through the nursing schools' website. Perceived adequacy of subjects' title and credit in each biological nursing subject and the degree of perceived importance and satisfaction of learning contents by subjects were collected from 30 professors of biological nursing subjects. Results: Many schools still use the titles of medical subjects for those of biological nursing subjects. The perceived importance and satisfaction of genetics-related learning contents, "nursing case study" or "project team presentation," were lower than other learning contents. Conclusion: Standardization of biological nursing subjects' titles and learning contents is needed.

산업간호사의 근무조건 - 서울 경인지역을 중심으로 -

  • 본연구는 보건관리자로서의 산업간호사의 역할을 뒷받침 할 수 있는 근무조건을 파악하기 위한 기초조사연구이며 산업간호사의 근무조건 개선에 기여코저 한다. 연구방법은 1991년 3월부터 4월까지 서울, 인천, 경기 지역에 위치한 산업장의 건강관리실에 근무하는 산업간호사 131명을 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 전화 또는 산업간호사회를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 조사대상의 일반적 특성 서울, 경기, 인천지역에 상시근로자수가 300인 이상에 근무하는 산업간호사 배치율은 49.3%로 나타났다. 조사대상의 지역별 분포는 서울이 61개사업장이었고 인천 경기의 순이었다. 또한 산업간호사의 교육수준은 전문대졸이 84.0%이었고, 연령별 분포는 20대가 65.7%이었으며, 규모는 500~999사이가 42.7%였고, 노조가 있는 사업장은 73.3%인 것으로 나타났으며 산업간호사 1인이 근무하는 곳이 90.7%였고 보건관리자가 간호사뿐인 곳이 63.3%이며 1000명이상 근로자를 가진 산업체중 31.9%가 전임산업의나 산업위생사 없이 간호사 혼자서 근무하는 것으로 나타났다. 2) 근로조건 산업간호사는 주당근무시간이 44시간이하인 경우가 59.6%였고, 1부제 근무만하는 경우가 93.1%였으며, 월차휴가는 94.7%가 사용할 수 있었으며, 보수는 기본급이 25~40만원 사이가 69.5%였고 면허수당은 43.8%만 받는 것으로 나타났으며 상여금은 년 600%를 받는 산업장이 42%였고 총급여액이 35~55만원을 받는 경우는 전체의 67.3%를 차지하였다. 또한 연장근로인정여부는 일부만 인정하거나 인정하지 않는 경우가 61.8%였고, 과거경력 은 34.4%가 인정하지 않았고 승진은 66.4%가 불가능한 것으로 나타났다. 산업간호사가 별정직이나 촉탁으로 취업한 경우가 35.1%였고 일반 고졸이나 전문대졸 대우를 받고 있는 경우가 68.9%였다. 또한 전문단체활동 지원정도는 대한간호협회나 산업간호사회지원이 95 %를 넘었으며 산업간호사가 원하는 것 모두 지원하는 경우가 68.7%였으며 회비와 참석 모두를 지원하는 경우가 83.7%였다. 3) 모성보호 산업간호사중 81.7%가 결혼 후 근무가 가능했으며, 94.7%가 생리휴가를 사용할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 산전산후휴가는 76.3%가 사용할 수 있었다. 그러나 결혼후 근무나 산전산후휴가는 명문화되어 있었으나 실제로 이용한 경우는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 산업간호사의 근무시간, 전문단체활동지원은 비교적 좋은 조건이나 보수를 비롯 승진이나 대우, 모성보호에 대한 개선여지가 있음을 보여주었다. 따라서 결혼후 지속근무, 산전산후 휴가제 등이 보장되어야 전문직으로서의 산업간호사 인력확보, 활용이 용이할 것으로 기대된다. 더불어 전문단체의 조직적 활동과 연구, 행동적인 지원이 계속되어져야 할 것을 제언하는 바이다.

최신의학상식 - 갑상선 호르몬과 요오드

  • 갑상선 호르몬은 2가지 형태, 즉 L-thyroxine(tetraiodothyronine, T4)과 L-triiodothyronine(T3)으로서 갑상선(thyroid gland)에서 합성된다. 요오드는 갑상선 호르몬의 핵심요소이며 음식물에 포함된 요오드는 섭취 후 소장에서 흡수되어 혈류를 통해 갑상선으로 운반되고, 갑상선에서 농축, 산화되어 thyroglobulin이라는 단백질의 구성 아미노산 중 tyrosine에 삽입됨으로써 T4와 T3를 생성하게 된다. 갑상선 호르몬의 합성에는 요오드 이외에도 셀레니움이 필수적이다. 요오드와 셀레니움은 미량원소로서 부족하면, 갑상선 호르몬 결핍 또는 갑상선 비대를 초래할 수 있다.

Family Support, Intention of Pregnancy and Antenatal Self-Care of Pregnant Women (임부의 가족지지와 임신의도 및 산전자가간호)

  • Objectives : A Pregnancy becomes a developmental challenge and a life-turning point for both the woman herself and her family. The purpose of this study was to identify the correlation amomg the family support, intention of pregnancy and the antenatal self-care of pregnant women. Method : The data were collected from 129 pregnant women by a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, using the SPSS program. Result : The findings of the study are as fellows : Statistically significant variables related to family support were age, religion, educational level, occupation, relationship with husband, relationship with mother. Statistically significant variables related to intention of pregnancy were religion, abortion history. Statistically significant variables related to antenatal self-care were age, religion, occupation, abortion history, relationship with mother, the term of marriage. There was a significant correlation between family support and intention of pregnancy, family support and antenatal self-care, intention of pregnancy and antenatal self-care. Conclusion : Therefore, it is proposed that family support is an appropriate nursing intervention to improve the antenatal self-care and intention of pregnancy in pregnant women.
