It is difficult to think of any behavioral process that is more intrinsically important to human beings than social attachment. Feeding, sleeping and locomotion are all necessary for survival, but humans are 'a social animal' and it is our social attachment that we live for. One of the early pioneers in this area, Harry Harlow, described the different behavioral processes that are involved in the formation of parent-infant, filial and pair(male-female) bonds. Each of these involves multi-sensory processing and complex motor responses. Over the past decades, studies in a range of vertebrates, including humans, have begun to address the neural basis of attachment at a molecular, cellular and systemic level. This review describes some of important insights from these works, involving three different areas:1) Neurobiological research of infant-parent, parent-infant attachment, 2) Animal studies regarding attachment, 3) Neurobehavioral studies of maltreatment/deprivation causing serious breakdown of attachment relationship in humans.
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the behavioral intentions of breastfeeding in single women using the theory of planned behavior. Methods: The questionnaires were distributed to 350 single women in her 20~30s, and 316 respondents were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Spearman's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The subjects showed strong intentions and favorable attitudes toward breastfeeding. The subjects were more favorably influenced by their mothers, siblings, friends, and coworkers who previously experienced breastfeeding than ones with no breastfeeding experiences. There were significant correlations between breastfeeding intention and attitudes (r = 0.321, p < 0.0001), subjective norms (r = 0.434, p < 0.0001), and perceived control (r = 0.307, p < 0.0001). However, regression analysis with two different age groups revealed that subjective norms (p < 0.0001) and perceived control (p < 0.001) contributed to the model of explaining breastfeeding intentions in subjects who were 25 years old or younger, whereas attitudes did not. In addition, subjects who were more than 25 years old showed that attitudes (p < 0.003) and subjective norms (p = 0.002) contributed to the model of explaining breastfeeding intentions while perceived control (p < 0.070) showed less contribution. Conclusion: These results suggest that the theory of planned behavior can be a useful tool to increase the rate of breastfeeding intentions in single women when designing educational materials, which requires consideration of age differences.
We can anticipate that animations will form one of the axes and lead popular culture in our future visual age. Recently, research has been actively conducted, but it mainly focuses on their value in culture industry or technologies and methods of producing animations. Of course, research that deals with animation characters has constantly come out. This study focuses on the 'formative elements' of 3D animation characters and attempts differentiation from other research by inducing new logic theoretically. Being freed from the research on characters that has been merely focused on theoretical grounds, this study intends to figure out how audience that is consumers who actually get to watch and feel animations recognizes them and find out related problems and also solutions for them. In particular, this study intends to examine the formative characteristics of 3D animation characters with the characters appearing in , one of the animations that have achieved artistic value as well as commercial success. And for that, the study conducted not only literature review but various surveys and Delphi method as well. Also, the researcher devised an analysis frame to evaluate the formative elements through in-depth discussion with experts. And with this, the study created the forms such as the Elements of Form, Formation Methods of Form and Visual Recognition Elements of Form, examined how audience recognized 3D characters. The process of recognizing an image is influenced by socio-cultural environment or sex, age, and the level of knowledge differently. This was meant to investigate current visual culture and the public's perspective through characters in that represent the visual mode.
South Korea, which has entered an aged society, is about to enter a super-aged society in 2025. With the increase of an aging population, traffic accidents by aged drivers have been settled as a social problem. Now, when Korea is facing a super-aged society to come, a study was conducted to prevent traffic accidents that occur while the elderly people are driving through a disaster prevention design. For theoretical research, this study examined the concept and necessity of disaster prevention design, the present condition of an aged society, aged drivers' physical and cognitive characteristics, and the policies related to the forms of traffic lights the elderly people see. In addition, to propose the design, this study investigated and analyzed the traffic safety forms and colors of the International Standards Organization and proposed the first and second forms of the design of traffic lights for the gradual improvement of the traffic lights based on that. The first improved design form is a plan for displaying a triangle, an arrow with a large area, and a quadrangle in the lens of the head of the existing traffic lights, and the second improved design form is a plan for introducing a new traffic light head and forming the traffic light with a bigger triangle, an arrow with a large area and a quadrangular lens. Since it has a visually clearer form than the present traffic lights, it is expected that aged drivers who have physical and cognitive characteristics due to aging can secure better visibility and conspicuity and that they can make better reflex responses than they can now, also in the change of driving environment (rain and heavy snowstorm, etc.). In addition, it is expected that this study would be a preceding study to prepare standard guidelines on traffic safety signs other than traffic lights to be prepared for the super-aged society.
This study aims to analyze the acceptance factors for expanding the adoption of AI by SMEs and draw practical and policy implications. To this, we conducted an empirical analysis of AI acceptance factors among 315 SMEs in various industries such as manufacturing, service, and information and communication sectors located in Korea. Based on the UTAUT, we examined the influence of decision-making reliability, perceived awareness, policy support, education and training, perceived cost, perceived risk, and system complexity, and found that decision-making reliability positively affects performance expectancy and social influence, perceived awareness positively affects performance expectancy and effort expectancy, policy support positively affects social influence and facilitating conditions, and education and training positively affects effort expectancy and facilitating conditions. Perceived cost had a negative effect on social influence and facilitating conditions, and perceived risk had a negative effect on performance expectancy and social influence. System complexity had a negative effect on effort expectancy but no effect on facilitating conditions. These results are expected to be widely utilized as basic research for the diffusion of AI in industry and provide practical and policy implications for promoting the adoption of AI in SMEs.
Although mobile banking provides cost-saving opportunities as well as convenient banking experience for customers, today's banks still face challenges when deploying the technology because a good number of customers are reluctant to use mobile banking for personal reasons. This paper is an empirical investigation of the determinants of the intention to use smartphone-based mobile banking services. The determinants are grouped into two categories including personal factors and social influence factors. We conducted an empirical analysis using 751 survey responses collected from present users of mobile banking services. The results of the analysis reveal that all the personal factors have positive relationships with the intention to use mobile banking services. On the other hand, it was found that of the social influence factors, perceived herding behavior has significantly positive relationship with the intention to use smartphone-based services, whereas subjective norm is not significantly related to the intention. We provide practical as well as academic implications of the research findings.
This study aims to find out the determinants of male police officers' investigative behavior(active investigation vs. secondary victimization) of sexual violence. For this purpose, a hypothetical model which explains the relationships among the 5 variables (knowledge of law about the investigative role, perception of the protective & connective role, prejudice against the sexual violence, active investigation, and secondary victimization) was developed. Using the data collected from 354 male police officers of 3 cities in Gyeongnam area, the hypothetical model was tested. For data analysis, a structural equation modeling was used, and the final model was found(CFI=0.947, IFI=0.948, RMSEA=0.048). As a result of analyzing the model, the followings were found: (1) Active investigation was increased by knowledge of law about the investigative role, and perception of the protective & connective role, while decreased by prejudice against the sexual violence. (2) Secondary vicimization was decreased by knowledge of law about the investigative role. (3) Prejudice against the sexual violence mediate the effects of knowledge of law about the investigative role, and perception of the protective & connective role on active investigation. (4) Prejudice against the sexual violence was found to have no significant effect on secondary victimization. Based on the findings, multi-educational programs, protocols on investigation of sexual violence, professionalization of the police, and changes in investigation environment as well as a system of collaboration and cooperation between police officer and social worker were suggested as a way to increase active investigation and to decrease secondary victimization.
Objective: Research on children's death concepts requires an approach considering social and cultural context. A qualitative method is necessary to explore children's cognitive process of understanding death. Thus, this study, to overcome the limitations of the quantitative approach based on the deductive logic led by adult researchers, adopted a qualitative research method. Methods: The data collection, referring to the theories of Corr and Balk (2010) and Smilansky (1987), used Death Concept Questionnaire. Each structured question was followed by open follow-up questions to explore how children understood each concept of death. Results: The results showed that participant children were still lacking in the acquisition of death sub-concepts. The qualitative result from open interview showed how children can and can not acquire the concepts of death. Conclusion/Implications: The study could be used in future development of death education programs for children. Based on the results of this research, it is necessary to develop programs for children's death education, which would help them coping with death related anxiety and loss experiences.

This study explores an initial framework for online product categorization by examining the relationships among Internet motivations, buying tendencies, and online purchase intentions for product categories. A total of 217 usable questionnaires were obtained from respondents in a southwestern state in the United States. A path model using a correlation matrix with maximum likelihood was estimated using LISREL 8.53. Findings indicated that Internet motivations consisted of four factors: Diversion, Economic, Information, and Social motivations. In addition, online products were classified into three categories based on purchase intentions: Sensory, Cognitive, and Search products. Estimated path model showed that diversion and economic motivations affected impulse buying tendency, whereas economic, information and social motivations influenced planned buying tendency in the online context. Also, the buying tendencies were significantly related to online purchase intentions for the product categories. Purchase intentions for sensory products were more strongly affected by impulse buying tendency, whereas purchase intentions for cognitive and search products were more strongly affected by planned buying tendency. Theoretical and managerial implications were discussed for devising an appropriate e-market strategy for specific product categories.

The purpose of this study is to confirm that the user benefit criteria can be applied as the user benefit criteria of children's libraries by examining the theoretical validity of the user benefit criteria and furthermore, by clarifying and verifying the mutual relation between the user benefit criteria and the child development area. For such a purpose, this study collected data from 247 users of children's libraries in the country and collected data was analyzed using the structural equation modeling. The result of analysis is as follows. First, the relation between physical development and behavioral facilitation, emotional development and physiological maintenance, cognitive development and perceptual maintenance, and the development of social skills and social facilitation was appropriate. Second, usability, safety and diversity was valid as an index of behavioral facilitation, self-esteem, amenity and peacefulness was valid as an index of physiological maintenance, esthetic sense, dynamics and flexibility was valid as an index of perceptual maintenance, and leisure, communication and territoriality was valid as an index of social facilitation. Third, children who prefer physical development prefer the benefit of behavioral facilitation, children who prefer emotional development prefer the benefit of physiological maintenance, children who prefer cognitive development prefer the benefit of perceptual maintenance and children who prefer the development of social skills prefer the benefit of social facilitation.
