건조물 문화재는 오랜 세월 우리 민족의 전통과 혼이 오롯히 담긴 귀중한 자산으로서 한 번 소실되면 영원히 원형을 잃게 되기 때문에 사전대비책이 중요하다. 특히 유형문화재의 주류를 이루고 있는 사찰 등 건조물 문화재의 대부분이 화재에 취약한 목조로 되어 있어 예방 및 보호대책이 시급한 실정이다. 관리자나 소유자뿐만 아니라 우리 국민 모두가 우리의 소중한 문화재를 지키겠다는 의지를 가지고 관리하여 온전한 형태로 후세에 물려주어야 할 것이다.

고색창연한 전각들이 거센 불기운에 주저앉고, 천 년 고찰의 역사가 불타버린 낙산사의 참혹한 모습에 안타까움과 함께 각종 재해에 무방비로 노출되어 있는 전국의 사찰과 문화유산에 대한 경각심을 일깨워야 할 때이다. 이에 일반에 공개되어 늘 화인과 접촉되어 있는 문화재의 특수성을 고려한 소방설비 대안 마련과 새로운 소방개념의 도입을 통해 문화재 보존의 허점을 개선해 나가고자 한다.

목조 건축물 문화재를 화재 등의 재난으로부터 보호하기 위한 다양한 노력을 통해 민족의 자부심이 되어온 귀중한 문화재의 가치를 보전해야 한다. 사찰, 궁궐 등 아름다운 목조 건축물을 보고 느끼는 즐거움을 유지하고 후세에 전하기 위해서는, 한치의 오차도 없는 화재예방을 염두에 두고 목재의 방화처리 및 목구조의 화재안전 대책을 마련해야 할 것이다.

화재보험에서 '특수건물'이란 일정 규모 이상의 특수한 조건을 구비한 건물로 화재로 인한 인명 및 재산의 손해에 대하여 적정한 보상이 가능하도록 보험가입을 의무화하는 건물을 지칭하나, 화재 특징과 조사를 논하는 본 고에서는 보험의 대상물로서의 분류가 아닌 기 연재된 창고, 주거용 건물, 빌딩 등을 제외한 나머지 건물 형태의 것을 언급하려고 함을 미리 밝혀둔다. 여기에는 문화재, 사찰건물, 교회, 비닐하우스, 모델하우스 등의 화재 특징을 살펴보고자 한다.

Since environmental pollution emerges as an important issue, integration of academic discipline has been accomplished for development of environmental ethics. Combination of Buddhism and Ecology is the instance of this background. The background of this research is the assumption that from Seon Ecology standpoint, Buddhist temple would define conception of Seon Ecology specifically. The study based on advanced study about Seon Ecology, the peculiarity of Seon Ecology was dependent originations, order, the nature of Buddha, moderation, and impersonated nature. In addition, this study researched how these peculiarity has relation with traditional temples. This attempt has a significance in that finding a new approach of interpreting traditional temple and possibility of Seon Ecology Seon Ecology space formative concepts of traditional temple is cyclical allness, transitory balance, Denial of perfection and natural void characteristics from Seon Ecological studies. This study examined how characteristic of Seon Ecology is reflected in traditional temple, through analyzing Buseoksa-Anyangru, Bongjeongsa-Yeonsanam, Seonamsa simgeomdang, Songgwangsa woohwagak, Hwaamsa woohwaru which have remarkable characteristic of selection using above space formative concepts. traditional temple was filled with life coexisted with dynamics, independence, and equality within interrelationship between nature and architecture.

Buddhist Architecture should be set for worship and an ascetic life, which is its main function as it is a religious facility and its space and form can be considered as means to achieve efficiently a religious function. Every religion concludes its religious function through its ideas and form of faith based on scriptures and religious precepts. The thing should be paid attention to from this point of view is how Buddhist doctrines are reflected on the architecture and the background recognition about the fundamental doctrines and religious system should be preceded to clarify it. Existing researches have studied the characteristics of Buddhist temples on the point of functional view and architectural spacial view through phenomenal ways. Though fruitful results bore about the Korean space through that way, more internal viewpoint is required to clarify the fundamental regularities and spatial concepts indwelling in temple architecture. Considering what structural elements were required to compose one space in traditional Korean architecture is the fundamental subject and important. This thesis searches architectural characteristics through inquiring about the main building and annexes and understanding symbolic characteristics about the arrangement of the Buddhist statue and solemn things in the Buddhist temples of tangible cultural assets or above located in Seoul area.
