Approach to develop a software supporting sign design strategy -Focusing on the letter information- (사인디자인 지원 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 방안 -문자정보를 중심으로-)

  • Domestic sign industry has seen a rapid growth in recent years, however, the level of quality is not so high. The main reason for this is due to the lack of well educated specialists. Thus, in this investigation, we will develop sign design experience software for the experienced employees in sign industry. Especially, focusing on the indoor letter information, we will develop the software that can provide the graphic effect associated with letter information. First, current situation and preliminary study in sign system used in public information were conducted, then design elements were analyzed from this. Then, experiments were performed on teh analyzed elements, and evaluation methods for the sign design were determined. Experiments including typography, color, layout, line alignment, letter space, and line space were conducted to analyze the visual perception. From these experiments, effective elements can be extracted and used as a elements for sign design software. As a next step, we will propose the development of experience software in sign design that can help to determine the sign elements. Thus, our investigation will provide sign design experience software that can be used by any inexperienced individuals, and be a great help for the more effective sign planning.

  • Sign is one of the important factors in city and national image formation, thus requires high level of quality. However, domestic sign emphasize only the sense of attention that leads to big sized signs, thus often results in a poor coordination with the surrounding space. This situation requires employees in sign business want to learn specialized knowledge about design field. Based on these circumstances, we propose sign design software to employees in sign business field as an aid tool that can help to develop good signs in terms of functionality as well as harmony of design. Thus, in this investigation, sign simulation software application case that can design sign and apply this sign to the actual application site is presented. In order to develop this software, literature survey and preliminary studies were performed to analyze the preparation process and environment, and designed sign design element and software elements, user interrace, and finally Java software were utilized. This developed software can be used as a textbook in sign design related departments in schools, and hopefully to enhance the social recognition of sign as well as academic interest.

  • The effects of 5day-work-week have given us strong family relationships by increasing sparing time. People who visit national parks enjoy the intimate with family. Especially, the public park has much benefits, such as people visit easily with moderate prices. This research is focused on the sign-design to increase watching effects with low price. However, there are some problems suck as assignments of sign without much considerations for moving line, unmatched with circumstances, lacking of consistency images. Thus, the effect of entertaining is decreased. For this, the paper analysis large-scale public park and large-scale private parks, and solves the several kinds of the problems. We also classify the types of sign designs and propose the sign design methods on characteristics. Therefore, we provide the objectivity of proposed sign designs by evaluating conveniences and expectations, and proposed the design methods of public parks and private parks.

  • 오늘날 관광업은 나날이 한 도시의 중요한 경제 수입 업종이 되고 있으며, 관광업은 지방의 경제 발전에 대체적인 작용을 한다. 사인시스템에서 중요한 공공시설로서, 없어서는 안 되는 작용을 하고 있다. 관람객들은 사인시스템을 통해 목적지를 찾는 데 필요한 시간을 단축할 수 있고, 관광지에 대한 전반적인 인상도 높일 수 있다. 고대 고성 안내 사인시스템에 대한 연구와 완벽을 통해서 옛 고성로 하여금 더욱 좋은 개발 기회를 얻게 하다. 이곳을 찾은 사람들이 역사와 문화에 대해 더 잘 알게 해 준다고 말했다. 본 논문의 연구 대상은 중국 남북의 역사문화관광지 중에서 선발한 AAAA급 이상의 관광지이다. 본 연구의 연구 대상으로 선정된 4개 관광지는 리장고성, 관도고성, 선양고궁. 첫째, 관련 문헌을 통해 사인디자인과 관련된 요소를 파악, 이들 요소를 바탕으로 설문 조사의 관련 문항을 제작했다. 둘째, 관광지마다 현장조사를 하고 관련 사진을 수집해 설문조사의 기초 자료로 활용했다. 네 개의 관광지의 사인시스템에 대해 설문조사를 실시하다. 셋째, 설문조사 결과를 집계한다.

'ALL OF VISUAL' 제19회 한국국제사인디자인전

  • 국내 유일의 국제 사인전시회인 '제19회 한국국제사인디자인전(KOSIGN 2011)'이 지난 11 월 17일부터 20일까지 서울 삼성동 코엑스에서 열렸다. 올해로 19회째를 맞이한 코사인전은 디지털 텍스타일 프린터를 포함해, 국내외 사인산업 전반의 아이템을 총망라해 전시되었다. KOSIGN2011은 'ALL OF VISUAL'을 슬로건으로 내걸고 사인, 디스플레이, 공공 디자인 등 시각과 관련한 모든 요소를 담고 있다는 메시지를 전했다. 이번 전시회는 미디어 아트, 광고 및 홍보, 게임, 전시의 경계가 무너지는 옥외광고업계의 트랜드를 느낄 수 있도록 기획되었으며, 특별관으로 'Space Design Show'를 개최하는가 하면 부대행사로 대한민국옥외광고대상수상작 전시관, 세계 3대 광고제 수상작 전시관, 바이어 리셉션 등을 마련해 다양한 이벤트를 선보였다.

  • This study compares and analyzes the users' perspectives based on Sign Design, focusing on Lotte World and Ever-Land, which are representative theme parks, There is a purpose. Consider various design elements of sign design. And how they affect the user experience. First, theoretical backgrounds of theme park and sign design were examined through literature review, and the elements of sign design were compared and analyzed. Secondly, the questionnaire was reconstructed based on Peter Morville's Honeycomb Model. As a result, it was necessary to improve the accessibility and location of sign design. Based on this study, I hope that it will be used as a reference material to improve the user experience according to sign design in the future.

  • In general, sign is the way of communication directing human beings with their daily activities particularly in urban circumstances. And sign planning is designing and installing signboards systematically in urban environment. Generally, the range of application in space sign is pretty wide, and it may safely be say that the attractiveness of the city image is considerably decided upon the sign system. The subject of this study investigates the meaning and the role of sign system applying on human environment, and disirable design direction cope with the constant change of city space. The present study doesn't specifically deals with the basic function of signboards only, but with the problems and solution corresponding with sign system as structual element in city environment.
