A Study for Determining the Best Number of Clusters on Temporal Data (Temporal 데이터의 최적의 클러스터 수 결정에 관한 연구)

  • A clustering method for temporal data takes a model-based approach. This uses automata based model for each cluster. It is necessary to construct global models for a set of data in order to elicit individual models for the cluster. The preparation for building individual models is completed by determining the number of clusters inherent in the data set. In this paper, BIC(Bayesian Information Criterion) approximation is used to determine the number clusters and confirmed its applicability. A search technique to improve efficiency is also suggested by analyzing the relationship between data size and BIC values. A number of experiments have been performed to check its validity using artificially generated data sets. BIC approximation measure has been confirmed that it suggests best number of clusters through experiments provided that the number of data is relatively large.

  • In order to test and evaluate the various functions and services of NGN would be promised, a specified methodology is needed and a development for the identification of testing object, configuration and test traffic are required. Simulation and analytical modeling methodshave used for IP performance testing, but further study issue still remains. This paper proposes new evaluation methodology to achieve an objective approach rather than a subjective and isolated, based on the real-field environment, for NGN network. For this purpose, background traffic pattern to interfere test traffic was specified and it was tested in actual NGN testbed with systems having NGN technology, such as per bandwidth and packet size. The results shows the suggested methodology is appropriate, comparing with parameters which are Delay, Jitter and Loss the current approach for the end-to-end performance evaluation on NGN.

Ecological Study of Shortnecked Clam Ruditapes philippinarum from the Jindu Coast of Hansan Island, Korea (한산도 진두해역 양식 바지락의 자원생태학적 연구)

  • In order to estimate the ecological parameters of the population, short-necked clams, Ruditapes philippinarum, were collected from Jindu coast at Hansan Island, from April to December in 2005. The growth of the clam was estimated by von Bertalanffy growth model and each parameters were obtained from a nonlinear regression as $L_{\infty}\;=\;48.8\;mm$, k = 0.28 and $t_0\;=\;-0.88\;(R^2\;=\;0.994)$. Instantaneous coefficient of total mortality (Z) and fishing mortality (F) was calculated to be 0.8614/yr. and 0.6122/yr, respectively. The age at the first capture was estimated to be 2.88 year. Using the present parameter for clam fishing, the yield-per recruit (Y/R) was estimated to be 3.44g. Although the maximum Y/R was obtained under the parameters ($t_c\;=\;3.48\;yr$. and F = 0.9295/yr), it is favorable to maintain the current fishing effort considering the annual fluctuation of the parameters.

Proposition of Korean Type Powered Wheelchair Seat Standards According to Age of the Human Scale (연령별 인체 치수에 따른 한국형 전동휠체어 좌석 표준규격 제언)

  • As one of the most widely used assistive technology devices for the disabled in Korea, the powered wheelchair conforms to KS P ISO 7176-5 standard size which uses original version of international standard, ISO 7176-5 without technological modification. However, the international standard is not suitable for the disabled in Korea because it defines the size of wheelchair based on the body size of foreigners, which causes imbalanced posture due to limitation of movement or rotation of pelvis, pressure ulcer incidence due to excessive pressure on the thigh or popliteal space and calf, and safety of reduction due to improper posture. This study suggested the guidance of size for powered wheelchair based on human body size examined by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, showing a great difference from the size defined in KS P ISO 7176-5 and accordingly redefinition for the size of powered wheelchair is needed.

  • To most of the students studying fashion related major, the graduation fashion show is a big challenge. They have to put together all they learn and show what they can do to their future employers. They design, pattern work, and make up garments for the show all by themselves. Unfortunately. while they make up their garments, they usually don't Dow exactly body measurements of the models. So quite often they have to alter their art works up to the last minute of the fashion show opening. Sometimes such unadequate work process ruins their work. The purpose of this study is to suggest block patterns of Korean fashion models measurements for basic items, such as jacket and pants for male models and torso length block pattern, skirt and pants for female models. 20 male and 20 female professional models were measured. The block patterns were based on their measurements. After the first fitting test, patterns were corrected by their body characteristic. For both male and female models, it was found desirable to fix the shoulder width and make an adjustment to the patterns with a deviation of width and girth items. In case of the resultant patterns the satisfaction was made better. Model sizes proposed in this study are considered closer to the size of average models, since they were based on A-grade models who are currently working in Korea. The resultant patterns can be produced by simply making a slight adjustment to the width of the proposed pattern in this study.

Performance of OLED devices with the surface characteristics of TCO thin films (투명전도성 박막의 표면 특성에 따른 OLED 소자의 특성)

  • OLED 소자는 직접발광, 광시야각, 그리고 빠른 응답속도 때문에 동영상에 적합하여 최근 각광받고 있는 디스플레이장치 중의 하나이다. OLED 소자의 양극재료로는 높은 광투과율과 $\sim10^{-4}{\Omega}\;cm$ 수준의 낮은 전기 비저항을 갖는 ITO (Sn-doped $In_2O_3$)가 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만 원료 물질인 인듐의 수급량 부족으로 인한 문제점과 독성, 저온증착의 어려움, 스퍼터링시 음이온 충격에 의한 막 손상으로 저항의 증가의 문제점이 있고, 또한 액정디스플레이의 투명전극으로 사용될 경우 $400\;^{\circ}C$정도의 높은 온도와 수소 플라즈마 분위기에서 장시간 노출 시 열화로 인한 광학적 특성변화가 문제가 된다. 반면에 Al이 도핑 된 ZnO (AZO)박막은 넓은 밴드갭 (3.37eV)와 400nm에서 700nm 사이의 가시광 영역에서 80% 이상의 우수한 투과성을 지니고 있다. 특히 Al이 도핑된 ZnO는 박막의 전기적 특성이 크게 향상되어 디스플레이나 태양전지로의 응용이 가능하다. 또한 비교적 낮은 비용과 플라즈마에서의 안정성, 무독성, 그리고 전기전도성과 같은 많은 이점이 있다. 그 결과 AZO 박막은 ITO기판을 대안하는 지원물질로 활발히 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 TCO 박막의 면 저항과 표면 거칠기에 따른 OLED 소자의 특성을 분석하였다. ITO와 AZO 박막은 챔버 내 다양한 가스 분위기(Ar, Ar+$O_2$ and Ar+$H_2$)에서 R.F Magnetron Sputtering방법으로 증착하였다. TCO 박막의 구조적인 이해를 돕기 위해서 X-ray diffraction 과 FESEM으로 분석하였다. 광학적 투과도와 박막의 두께는 ultraviolet spectrophotometer (Varian, cary-500)와 surface profile measurement system으로 각각 측정하였다. 면저항 charge carrier 농도, 그리고 TCO 박막의 이동도와 같은 전기적특성은 four-point probe와 hall effect measurement(HMS-3000)로 각각 측정하였다. TCO 박막의 표면 거칠기 조절을 위해 photo lithography 공정을 사용하여 TCO 박막을 화학에칭 하였다. 미세사이즈 패턴 마스크가 사용되었으며 에칭의 깊이는 에칭시간에 따라 조절하였다. TCO 박막의 표면 형태는 FESEM과 AFM으로 관찰하였다. 투명전극으로 사용되는 ITO 및 AZO 기판 상용화를 위해 ITO 및 AZO 기판 위에 ${\alpha}$-NPB, Alq3, LiF, Al 의 순서로 증착 및 패터닝함으로써 OLED 소자를 제작하였다. 전류밀도와 전압 그리고 발광휘도와 전압과 같은 전기적 특성은 spectrometer(minolta CS-1000A)를 이용하여 측정하였다.

Physical and Sensory Properties of Chiffon Cake Made with Rice Flour (쌀가루로 제조한 쉬폰케이크의 물리적.관능적 품질특성)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of chiffon cakes made with rice flour ranging from 20-100% in place of wheat flour. The water binding capacity of the rice flour was greater than that of the wheat flour and its fat binding capacity was lower than that of the wheat flour. The batter stability data indicated that the 100% treatment was better than the control, and specific gravity values and specific loaf volumes were lower in the samples with added rice flour. Texture analysis found no significant differences in hardness, adhesiveness, cohesiveness, gumminess, and chewiness between the control and the 100% treatment. In the case of crust color, the rice flour-added chiffon cakes did not show any significant differences for their 'a' values. In addition, their crumb color was not significantly different in terms of both their 'L' and 'a' values. According to the sensory evaluation, there was no significant difference in overall acceptability between the control and the rice flour-added chiffon cakes. The highest sensory scores were obtained by the 100% treatment for overall acceptance and moistness. However, flavor, cohesiveness, and brittleness were not significantly different. These study results show that wheat flour could be replaced by rice flour up to 100% in chiffon cake.

  • Because of development of information technology, moving picture can run various platforms. We should consider and apply users' attitude as well as production technique because convergence between mobile and media technology may be increased full-browsing service using mobile device. Previous research related to production technique in various platforms only focus on video quality and adjustment of screen size. However, besides of technical side, production techniques should be changed such as image production as well as image editing by point of view aesthetic. Mise-en-scene such as camera angle, composition, and lighting is changed due to HD image. Also image production should be changed to a suitable full-browsing service using mobile device. Therefore, we would explore a new suitable production techniques and image editing for smart phone. To propose production techniques for smart phone, we used E-learning production system, which are transition, editing technique for suitable converting system. Such as new attempts are leading to new paradigm and establishing their position by applying characteries such as openness, timeliness to mobile. Also it can be extended individual area and established as expression and play tool.

Study on Reinforcing Skin Barrier and Anti-aging of Exosome-like Nanovesicles Isolated from Malus domestica Fruit Callus (사과 캘러스로부터 분리된 엑소좀-유사 Nanovesicles 의 피부 장벽 및 피부 노화 방지 개선 연구)

  • Plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles (PELNs) are known to include various biological activities and possess high biocompatibility. Because PELNs can influence immune responses, cell differentiation, and proliferation regulation, they can be applied in multiple industries. However, the studies on the skin physiological of exosome-like nanovesicles derived from plant callus are insignificant compared to nanovesicles derived from mammalian cells. In this study, callus was induced from apple fruit (Malus domestica), and exosome-like nanovesicles (ACELNs) were isolated for improving skin barrier and anti-aging. The yield of ACELNs was 6.42 × 109 particles/mL, and the particle size was ranged from 100 to 200 nm. HDF cells and HaCaT cells were concentration-dependent, increased in cell, and decreased in cytotoxicity. The cornified envelope formation was significantly increased compared to the control group. The COL1A1 expression and the FBN1 expression in HDF cells were increased. In addition, the ACELNs promoted collagen biosynthesis in UVA-irradiated HDF cells. These results might be considered as potential materials that could improve skin barrier and prevent skin aging.

Improving Stability and Characteristic of Circuit and Structure with the Ceramic Process Variable of Dualband Antenna Switch Module (Dual band Antenna Switch Module의 LTCC 공정변수에 따른 안정성 및 특성 개선에 관한 연구)

  • A compact antenna switch module for GSM/DCS dual band applications based on multilayer low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) substrate is presented. Its size is $4.5{\times}3.2{\times}0.8 mm^3$ and insertion loss is lower than 1.0 dB at Rx mode and 1.2 dB at Tx mode. To verify the stability of the developed module to the process window, each block that is diplexer, LPF's and bias circuit is measured by probing method in the variation with the thickness of ceramic layer and the correlation between each block is quantified by calculating the VSWR In the mean while, two types of bias circuits -lumped and distributed - are compared. The measurement of each block and the calculation of VSWR give good information on the behavior of full module. The reaction of diplexer to the thickness is similar to those of LPF's and bias circuit, which means good relative matching and low value of VSWR, so total insertion loss is maintained in quite wide range of the thickness of ceramic layer at both band. And lumped type bias circuit has smaller insertion itself and better correspondence with other circuit than distributed stripline structure. Evaluated ceramic module adopting lumped type bias circuit has low insertion loss and wider stability region of thickness over than 6um and this can be suitable for the mass production. Stability characterization by probing method can be applied widely to the development of ceramic modules with embedded passives in them.
