Rendering Antialiased Shadows with Improved PCF (개선된 PCF 기법을 이용한 그림자 생성)

  • Shadows are important elements for realistic rendering of the 3D scene. Image based methods which are techniques to generate shadows are widely used because of fast calculation time. However, this algorithm has aliasing problems. PCF is a method to solve the aliasing problem. Using PCF technique, antialiased shadow boundary can be generated. However, PCF with large filter size requires more time to calculate antialiased shadow boundary. This paper introduces an improved PCF technique which generates antialiased shadow boundary similar to that of PCF. Compared with PCF, this technique can generate antialiased shadows in less time.

  • The purpose of this study is to express imagination which is not limited to the description of the facts and reproduce the photos as a media to explore the new possibilities for creative expression and the experience of the day-to-day operations for the implementation of the scheme of art genre. The art work for this study using digital images in Autodesk Combustion Workspace as the upper and lower layers were synthesized using the Transfer Mode feature. This study proposed a new photomontage production model, and challenged for the Possibility of a variety of visual representations of media art. Especially the production presents in this study can be applied to various video.

  • This paper presents a novel makeup simulation method for powder application. We propose a color appearance model for powder coated skin that is simple but yet capable of producing realistic visual results. From the photos of several artificial skins before and after powder application, the translucency and thickness parameters are achieved by fitting the color model to the photos. Thickness patterns of powder application on actual human face skin is also extracted, and used in makeup simulations on photos of different human face to give more visually appealing results. From experiments, we found that the simulation results are quite realistic, and expect that the proposed makeup simulation can be used as a virtual coloring test in the cosmetic labs.

Politicians' YouTube Information Service Quality Impact on Politician Image and Trust and Voters' Social and Political Participation Intention (정치인의 유튜브 정보서비스 질이 정치인 이미지 및 신뢰와 유권자의 사회·정치 참여의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between politicians' YouTube information service quality, politician's image and trust, and voters' social and political participation intentions. To investigate this, 306 voters were sampled through an online survey. The quality factors of the politician's YouTube information service were found to have a positive effect on the image of a politician. Among them, timeliness and reliability had a positive effect on the trust of politicians, but playfulness did not. Both the image and trust of politicians through YouTube were found to have a positive effect on voters' intention to participate in society and politics. As a result of examining the indirect effect, it was found that the image of a politician had an indirect effect on the quality of information service and the intention to participate in society and politics. This study is significant in revealing that the fact that the image and trust of politicians is a major variable that appeals to citizens' social and political participation is also applicable to YouTube.

A Study on Content Characteristics, Consumer Behavior and Economic Value According to the Degree of Consideration of Graphic Content (그래픽 콘텐츠 고려 정도에 따른 콘텐츠 특성, 소비자 행동, 경제적 가치에 관한 연구)

  • This study verified what differences in screen golf content characteristics, intention to reuse, customer satisfaction and economic value experienced by consumers according to the image feeling, expression method, and image color provided by screen golf graphic content. In addition, the purpose of this study was to analyze what kind of influence the content characteristics of screen golf have on the economic value and what kind of influence the intention to reuse and customer satisfaction have in this process. From September 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021, a survey of 225 copies of consumers using the screen golf course was conducted. For data processing, frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, chi-square analysis and 3-step mediated regression analysis were performed. The research results are as follows. First, the preferred image feeling showed a high level of clean and sophisticated feeling and the preferred expression method showed a high realistic image. In addition, the preferred image color showed a high level of green color. Second, there were differences in competitiveness, ease of use, sense of solidarity and realism according to the degree of consideration of graphic content and differences in consumer's intention to reuse, customer satisfaction, and economic value. Third, in the relationship between screen golf content characteristics and economic value, customer satisfaction and re-use intention had a mediating effect. Through this study, by providing basic data to derive the graphic design model of screen golf, the operating entity suggested a way to improve economic benefits and tried to contribute to the growth of the screen golf industry.

Real-Time Indirect Illumination using a Light Quad-Tree (광원 트리를 사용한 간접 조명의 실시간 렌더링)

  • Indirect illumination plays an important role for realistic image synthesis. We present a novel realtime indirect illumination rendering technique using image pyramids. Hundreds of thousands of indirect point light sources are stored into images, and then they hierarchically clustered into quad-tree image pyramids. We also introduce a GPU based top-down and breadth-first traversal of the quad-trees to approximate the illumination with clusters (set of lights). All steps entirely run on the GPU in real-time. Result images demonstrate that our method represents diffuse interreflection, especially a color bleeding effect well. We achieved interactive frame rates of tens to hundreads, without any preprocessing. We can avoid artifacts caused by sampling, and our method is seven times faster than a recently proposed sampling based method.

  • In this paper, proposed through the development process of a VCR the process of making exact three-dimensional modeling data using the Alias-one of the popular workstation in product design development process. At first, the features of the NURBS curve which is the basic curve in the modeling of Alias system and the methods of building surface are reviewed. The methods of rendering, lighting and textures are reviewed for application of realistic image presentation after building basic surfaces. The synthetic application methode of these factors necessary for the product design modeling is presented through the development process of a VCR.

  • 초기의 3D 게임 엔진들은 3차원 이미지 렌더링에 초점을 맞춰 개발이 되었기 때문에 현실세계에서와 마찬가지로 물체들 간에 발생하는 선형운동 및 회전운동 등의 고전 물리학의 운동법칙과 운동에 의해 발생하는 물리적 현상에 대한 고려가 미비하였다. 3차원 게임 개발자들에게 게임을 구성하는 객체 및 요소를 현실적으로 인식하기 위한 물리학의 중요성이 부각되었고, 이후에 많은 개발자 및 개발회사들이 현실 세계의 물리현상을 게임에 적용시키고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 3차원 게임을 위한 물리엔진에서 물체들의 사실적인 표현과 움직임에 도움이 되는 관절체의 종류와 구조에 대해 연구하였다.

Online Signature Verification using General Handwriting Data and CNN (일반 필기데이터와 CNN을 이용한 온라인 서명인식)

  • 본 논문에서는 대표적인 이미지 분류 모델인 CNN(Convolutional Neural Network)과 시간에 따른 이미지의 변화를 학습할 수 있는 LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) 기반의 온라인 서명인식 모델을 제안한다. 실제로는 위조서명을 미리 구하기 어렵다는 사실을 고려해 서명검증 대상자가 아닌 타인의 진서명과 대상자의 일반 필기 데이터를 음의 데이터로서 학습에 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 전체 이미지 중 서명 부분의 비율에 따라 좋은 성능을 보이는 검증 모델이 다르며 Accuracy 성능지표를 통해 이 비율이 높거나 낮을 경우 CNN-LSTM 이, 중간일 경우 CNN 이 적합하다는 것을 확인하였다.
