Development of a Diagnosis Manual to Evaluate the Pedestrian Safety in a Neighborhood Using the Mixed Research Method (혼합연구방법을 활용한 근린환경의 보행안전성 진단 매뉴얼 개발)

  • This study is a descriptive and exploratory one aiming to develop a systematic/diagnostic manual that is necessary for the improvement of the pedestrian safety of a neighborhood and show the practical application and usefulness of the manual through a case study. The diagnostic manual developed on the basis of the previous research review adopted a mixed research method including three investigation tools of map/data analysis using secondary data, field observation by investigators, and resident survey interview. In the case study applying the manual to Changsin-dong, Seoul, the author analyzed the results of the three investigations in integrative ways and showed the usefulness of the manual by systematically deriving the places prone to pedestrian-vehicle accidents and the influencing factors. This study contributes to the practical field in that it provides planners with a systematic tool to diagnose the pedestrian safety in the neighborhood environment while it contributes to the academic field in that it provides the concrete process that empirically compares the differences between different environmental investigative methods and deduce integrative implication from them. In a follow-up study, the author plan to apply the diagnostic manual presented in this study to more cases and improve them to work in various contexts.

Pre-service Elementary Teachers' Exploration of Children's Science Ideas (초등 예비교사의 아동의 과학 개념 조사)

  • In this study, pre-service elementary teachers (n=68) participated in an inquiry of exploring children's science ideas as group work. After conducting interviews with children, the pre-service teachers analyzed their science ideas on specific concept and propose a teaching plan based on their findings. This paper aimed to find the positive learning experiences of the pre-service teachers by looking into their inquiry process. Questionnaire, researcher's journal, classroom videos and final reports were collected and analyzed for this multiple case study. Four representative groups were chosen and interviewed after submitting their final reports for in-depth understanding of their inquiry process. The positive learning experiences found in the process of their inquiry into children's science ideas were as follows: (1) exploring children's ideas have brought the opportunity for enhancing pre-service teachers' science content knowledge. (2) the pre-service teachers developed their ability in creating questions that probe into children's understanding. (3) the pre-service teachers recognized that children have various incomplete and unstable science ideas. (4) the pre-service teachers could suggest teaching strategy based on their findings.

R&D 사업평가에서 S&T 정책평가로의 전환에 관한 탐색 연구 : 사업군 특정평가를 중심으로

  • 과학기술기본법 제12조 및 성과평가법 7조에 따라 국가연구개발 투자의 효율성 제고를 위해 장기간 대규모 예산이 투입되는 사업, 사업간 중복조정 또는 연계가 필요한 사업, 다수 중앙행정기관이 공동으로 추진하는 사업, 국가적 사회적 현안으로 대두된 사업 등에 대해 특정평가를 실시하고 있다. 사업군 특정평가는 "08년부터 "17년까지 총 17회 실시되었으나 사업군 단위의 평가보다 사업군 내 개별사업 중심으로 평가가 수행되어 왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 사업군 특정평가의 평가틀을 제시하는 것으로 기존의 사업 단위 특정평가 방법을 차용해왔던 방식을 사업군 단위 특정평가에 적합한 평가틀을 제안하고자 한다. 평가의 계층구조에서 사업평가와 정책평가 사이에 위치한 사업군 평가에 대한 틀 제시는 향후 과학기술분야의 정책평가 도입을 위한 탐색연구에 해당한다. 이러한 연구목적의 달성을 위해 먼저 기존에 수행되었던 사업군 특정평가의 사례들에 메타평가를 수행하여 현 사업군 평가틀의 한계를 조사하고, 국내외 정책평가 사례 분석을 통해 사업군 특정평가 틀에 활용 가능한 벤치마킹하고자 하였다. 이러한 기존 사업군 평가의 한계와 선행 정책 평가의 시사점을 바탕으로 사업군 특정평가틀을 제시하였다. 메타평가는 선행 문헌조사를 기초하여 본 연구에 적합한 메타평가틀을 구성하여 적용하였고, 국내외 정책평가 사례에 대한 선정과 분석은 정책평가 전문가들의 지문과 면접조사를 활용하였다.

  • Standish Group 조사에 의하면 1994년부터 2004년까지 10년간 소프트웨어 프로젝트의 원가 초과율이 180%에서 56%로 낮아졌고 납기 초과율은 164%에서 84%로 낮아져 프로젝트의 품질 수준이 높아진 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 결과의 교훈은 SW 프로젝트를 보다 작은 시간 프레임으로 나눠 짧은 시간 프레임 내에서 설계, 프로토타이핑, 개발, 테스트를 반복적으로 수행하고 소프트웨어가 자라는 방식의 프로세스 적용이라고 설명했는데 이러한 특징을 갖는 것이 바로 애자일(Agile:기민한) 방법론이다.[1] 그렇다면 애자일 방법 적용이 과연 프로세스 품질 성숙도를 어느 정도 충족시킬 수 있는지에 대한 접근도 이제는 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 웹 서비스 제품 개발 프로세스에 Agile 방법론 중 하나인 Scrum 방법론을 적용한 조직의 사례를 통하여 프로세스 품질 성숙도 요소 충족 여부를 분석함으로써 애자일 방법론을 적용한 조직의 프로세스 품질 성숙도 측정에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

Development of Case Management Activities Inventory in Community Welfare Centers (사회복지관 사례관리 활동목록 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop case management activities inventory and analyze the perception on case management practice using importance-performance analysis(IPA) in community welfare centers. The comprehensive literature review and the content analysis from the professional scholar and social workers produced 89 items of case management activities items. A survey was conducted to 277 case managers in community welfare centers. The exploratory factor analysis, reliability and validity analysis developed the case management activities inventory comprised of 11 factors and 61 items. Suggestions were made to improve case management practice in community welfare centers.

Review of Site Characterization Methodology for Deep Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste (방사성폐기물의 심층 처분을 위한 부지특성조사 방법론 해외 사례 연구)

  • In the process of site selection for a radioactive waste disposal, site characterization must be carried out to obtain input parameters to assess the safety and feasibility of deep geological repository. In this paper, methodologies of site characterization for radioactive waste disposal in Korea were suggested based on foreign cases of site characterization. The IAEA recommends that site characterization for radioactive waste disposal should be performed through stepwise processes, in which the site characterization period is divided into preliminary and detailed stages, in sequence. This methodology was followed by several foreign countries for their geological disposal programs. General properties related to geological environments were obtained at the preliminary site characterization stage; more detailed site characteristics were investigated during the detailed site characterization stage. The results of investigation of geology, hydro-geology, geochemistry, rock mechanics, solute transport and thermal properties at a site have to be combined and constructed in the form of a site descriptive model. Based on this site descriptive model, the site characteristics can be evaluated to assess suitability of site for radioactive waste disposal. According to foreign site characterization cases, 7 or 8 years are expected to be needed for site characterization; however, the time required may increase if the no proper national strategy is provided.

  • 국내에서의 PAHs 연구결과 들은 아직도 측정·분석방법의 평가 등에 관한 수준에 머무르고 있으며, 전국적인 PAHs의 배출원 조사와 배출량 추정 등 체계적인 배출상태조사(emission inventory)와 배출특성 등에 관한 조사·연구 사례는 전무한 실정이다. 더욱이 오래 전부터 이 분야에 많은 관심을 가진 나라에서도 이 분야에 대한 연구가 입자상 물질에 흡착되어 있는 PAHs에 국한되고 있는 실정이다. (중략)

A Case Study on Knowledge Management System of Research Institute in Daedeok Science Park (대덕연구단지 연구기관의 지식관리 시스템에 관한 사례연구)

  • This study aims at investigating ways to enhance the efficiency of knowledge management systems in research institutes. This study analyzes the current state of knowledge management systems, changes in users' perception, and the use of knowledge management systems in Daedeok Science Park, and suggests improvement measures. This study reviews previous studies and employs a survey for case studies. This study also conducts log data analysis of knowledge management systems to investigate the current state of system use. The questionnaire asks about the interest in knowledge management, evaluation and rewards of knowledge contribution, quality of knowledge, and the level of utility. This study tests hypothesis and analyzes the frequencies. This study finds that the interest and use of knowledge management system have been remarkably dropped, and also reveals that maintaining reward systems and diverse rewarding systems are required.

Science Teachers' Actual and Preferred Cases of Assessment in 'Scientific Inquiries in History' of Science Inquiry Experiment (과학탐구실험의 '역사 속의 과학 탐구'에서 과학교사의 평가 실태와 평가 지향 조사)

  • In this study, we investigated actual cases of assessment science teachers conducted and the cases they preferred in a typical situation based on the curriculum in the context of 'Scientific Inquiries in the History' of Scientific Inquiry Experiment. A questionnaire composed of descriptive questions was developed and a survey was conducted with 70 science teachers with experience in teaching 'Scientific Inquiries in History'. Interviews were conducted with eight of them. The assessment cases were analyzed in terms of the assessment areas and assessment methods, and the results were compared. The analyses of the results revealed that 'scientific inquiry ability' accounted for the highest ratio of the assessment areas in the actual cases of assessment. There were few cases that assessed the core concepts presented in the curriculum, 'the nature of science' and 'scientists' inquiry methods'. The assessment methods were greatly biased toward the report method and various assessment methods were not used. In preferred cases of assessment, the ratio of cases that assessed the core concept increased slightly, however the frequencies remained at a low. As for the assessment methods in preferred cases of assessment, the measurement methods decreased, the performance methods increased, and the informal methods which were not shown in the actual cases appeared. However various assessment methods were still not used. The causes of the survey results were analyzed based on the opinions of the teachers who participated in the interviews. Based on above results, plans to actively conduct NOS assessments in Scientific Inquiry Experiment are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to efficiency scheme to design VE through the case studies of construction VE forapartments. The adapted research method includes five case studies of construction VE and analysis of constructionVE practice. The results of this study are as follows 1) For efficiency of design VE, data management system whichis necessary for construction VE database establishment and its application were proposed. 2) Through workingsystem improvement of construction VE, an improvement to design VE performance process was proposed. 3)Consideration factors and main VE items for efficient design VE item selection of apartment buildings wereproposed.
