Directivity Characteristics of Non-Linear Array for Wide-Band One-Shot Beamforming (광대역 단일빔형성을 위한 비선형배열의 지향 특성)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm to design the non-linear array so as to form efficiently the one-shot beam with relatively less sensors for acoustic measurement. In this algorithm, according to the spatial sampling theory the part for high frequency(HF) band has equispaced sensor array and the sensor distances below the HF band are decided as a function of number of HF sensors. As the results of the simulations, the mean and variances of directivity index(DI) of non-linear array which has less sensors are similar to those of linear array. and the DI variation for beam steering angle is very small. And the beam width at -2dB point is 6.8°. Thus it is confirmed that the design algorithm for non-linear array which is proposed to have less sensors can be efficiently used in acoustic measurement.

  • The phase and frequency commands of a ratating radar system that utilizes frequency scanning to steer the beam in the azimuth direction and phase shifters in the elevation direction are derived in terms of the angles of the groung based coordinate system. The antenna type considered is slotted arrays that are easy to construct at such high microwave frequency as the X band. The frequency that has non-linear characteristics as a functio ofthe elevation angle is plotted and the derived frequency equation is aproximated to be a simple form to reduce the calculation time for real time multi-function radar systems. It is shown that the approximated frequency command is in good agreement with the exact one if the range of azimuth scanning is limited by ${\pm}10^{\circ}$.

  • A new downlink beamforming method is proposed for coherent detection of Cellular systems with BPSK modulation where there exists only common pilot channel. To solve phase mismatch between traffic and pilot signals at desired mobile and to reduce interference to other mobiles, the proposed downlink beamforming method considers a cost function of signal to interference ratio criteria and gives a solution for the cost function. The computer simulation showed that the proposed method can solve the phase mismatch problem and give improved BER performance in time-varying channels.

  • 직격뇌가 높은 건축물에 치거나 인접 건물로부터 뇌전류가 유입되었을 때 잘못된 피뢰설비로 인한 피해는 매우 심각한 실정이다. 낙뢰가 치는 순간에 반도체와 같은 민감한 전자부품을 사용하는 전자 및 통신기기는 뇌전류로 인한 전자기장의 영향으로 오동작이 발생하거나 부품의 손상을 입기가 쉽다. 본 논문에서는 건축물 구조체에 직격뇌가 유입되었을 때 건축물 구조체 및 건물 주위에 나타나는 전위분포특성을 연구하였다. 본 논문에서 30m 높이 건축물의 상부 모서리와 중앙부 그리고 건축물 하부 모서리와 중앙부로 뇌전류가 유입된다고 가정하여 건축물의 전계분포특성을 시뮬레이션하였으며, 뇌전류는 2중 지수함수형태로 모의된 20kA 임펄스 서지 전류를 주입하였다. 뇌서지 전류의 주파수 특성은 Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)을 이용하여 얻었으며, 얻어진 주파수 값을 이용하여 건축물 구조체와 인접지역의 Scalar Potentials과 Electric Fields의 특성을 시뮬레이션하였다. 또한 철골 빔 건축물의 철골 빔에 직접 뇌전류가 유입되는 경우와 건물 하부의 접지전극에 뇌전류가 유입되는 경우로 분리 하여 연구하였다. 그 결과 뇌전류의 유입경로가 건축물의 모서리부분 보다는 중심부에 위치될 때 전위 및 전계 크기가 작았으며 건축 철골구조물보다 건축물 하부에 접지전극이 설치될 때 더 낮은 전계 값을 갖는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The object transport system is used in many industry field such as the conveyor belt, which transports huge goods in container harbor, the magnetic levitation system, and the indexing system which transports precision components such as semiconductor and optical components. In conventional transport system, the magnetic field may damage semiconductor and the contact force may scratch on the optical lens. So ultrasonic wave transport system has been proposed to replace the previous transport system. In this paper, the good transport condition of optical lens is obtained according to the flexural beam shapes. The working frequency and transport speed are measured and the vibration characteristics of the flexural beams are investigated by Laser Scanning Vibrometer.

  • In this paper, an analytical method and a difference approximation method to calculate the gradient of an objective function have been applied to the directivity optimization in an adaptive ultrasonic transducer which is combined with a point source array and an optimization algorithm (DFP method). To compare these two methods, quasi-ideal .beam with a beam width and direction specified are chosen as the desired directivity. As the numerical results, the difference approximation method shows better suppressive capacity of side lobe level, good stability in the convergence processing, faster convergence speed and excellent adaptability compared with the analytical method.

MeV 전자빔 조사를 통한 Pt/Graphene 복합 나노구조의 형성

  • 그래핀(graphene)은 육각형의 탄소원자 한층으로 이루어진 이차원 구조체로써 우수한 물리적, 전기적 특성으로 인해 다양한 분야에서 응요을 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히, 그래핀과 금속 나노입자의 복합구조는 수소 저장체, 가스센서, 연료전지, 화학 촉매등의 다양한 분야에서 응용이 가능하다. 현재까지 그래핀/금속나노입자 복합구조의 제작 방법에는 열증발(thermal evaporation), 전기도금법(electrodeposition), 표면 기능화(surface functionalization)를 이용한 방법이 보고되었다. 하지만 이러한 방법은 긴 공정시간이 요구되며, 나노입자의 크기 분포가 넓다는 단점을 지닌다. 본 연구에서는 화학기상증착법을 통해 합성된 그래핀이 전사된 SiO2 (300nm)/Si 기판에 염화기가 포함된 백금 화합물 분산용액을 스핀코팅(spin-coating)하고 MeV 전자빔을 조사하여 Pt/grapheme 복합구조를 형성하였다. 이 방법은 균일한 크기 분포의 나노입자의 형성이 가능하며, 간단하고, 대면적 공정이 가능하며, 다른 방법에 비해 그래핀의 결함형성이 적다는 장점을 지닌다. Pt/grapheme 의 기하학적 구조를 주사전자현미경(scanning electron microscopy)와 투과전자현미경(transimission)을 통해 분석하였고, Pt와 graphene의 일함수(workfunction)의 차이에 의해 야기되는 전하이동에 의한 도핑(doping)현상을 라만 분광기(Raman spectroscopy)와 X-선 광전자 분광기(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy)를 통해 분석하였다.

Study on the characteristics of miniaturized free electron laser module (초소형 자유전자 레이저 모듈에 대한 특성 연구)

  • We investigated the miniaturized free electron laser(FEL) module based on microcolumn. The miniaturized FEL is composed of two parts: electron generation part and radiation emission part. The radiation emission part, called wiggler, consists of a grid plate. While the electrons are passing through the wiggler, electron trajectory shows sinusoidal curve caused by the periodically applied voltage on the grid, and then it give rise to radiation emission. We analyzed the wiggler parameters, grid width, depth, period, applied voltage and the pair wiggler space using 2-D simulation tool.

A Study on Strength Characteristics of Yieldable Steel Arch Supports (가축성 강재 지보의 강도특성에 관한 연구)

  • The brief results of laboratory and field tests of yieldable steel arches are represented. The test supports were fabricated with three U-sectional beams which are 25.8 kg/m of Glocken profile. The structural analyses of semi-circular and arch supports were conducted to find out shape factor of U beam to be 1.35 and the location of 2nd plastic hinges. Load capacity of arch supports under crown loading were examined as a function of leg length. Yieldable characheristics of test supports were investigated with various bolting torque of connection part. Determination method of bolting torque were also studied. Finally, test supports were installed in-situ with torque of 21 kg .m, which showed a typical yielding procedure.

A Speaker Array System for Sound Spotlight in a Reverberant Environment (반향 환경에서의 스피커 어레이를 이용한 소리 집중 기술)

  • This paper proposes an efficient speaker array system to spotlight a sound into a target position in a reverberant environment. The proposed method introduces a criterion of maximizing the energy of system response from each channel to the target position. Simulation results with a sixteen channel speaker array system prove that the performance of the proposed method improves that of the conventional method that uses a broadband beamformer in a reverberant environment.
