A Study on Steady-State Performance Simulation of Smart UAV Propulsion System (신개념 비행체 추진시스템의 정상상태 성능모사 기법 연구)

  • In this study, a performance model of the smart UAV propulsion system with ducts, tip jets and variable main nozzle, which has flight capability of the rotary wing mode for the take-off/landing and low speed forward flight as well as the fixed wing mode for high speed forward flight, has been newly developed With the proposed model, steady-state performance analysis was performed at various flight modes such as rotary wing mode, fixed wing mode, compound ing mode and altitude as well as at flight speed conditions. In investigation of performance analysis. it was noted that the operational capability of the propulsion system was limited due to the duct losses depending on each flight mode, and the limitation with the altitude variation case had much greater than that with the flight speed variation case.

  • The combustion efficiency of the solid fuel ramjet is affected by the inlet air temperature. And this inlet air temperature is dependent on the flight Mach number and the environment air temperature. If the flight altitude is changeable, the inlet air temperature and also the air density vary. The performance efficiency is investigated with this variables related to the combustion efficiency.

  • 초임계 익형은 천음속 영역에서 비행하는 상업용 민간 항공기와 전투기 날개의 공력성능을 향상시키기 위해 Whitcomb R. T.가 제안 하였다. 초임계 익형은 상부표면을 평평하게 디자인하여 임계마하수보다 큰 마하수에서 나타나는 익형 주위의 충격파 출현을 지연시킴으로써 항력을 줄일 수 있고, 상부 표면의 평면 설계로 인한 양력 감소를 보정하기 위하여 하부 표면의 꼬리부분에 캠버가 있는 형상을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON CFD를 이용하여, 초임계 익형의 공력특성을 해석하고 Xfoil의 data와 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 초임계 익형의 형상을 변경하여 두께와 뒷전 캠버가 다른 초임계 익형을 설계하였다. 새로운 초임계 익형의 형상은 상용 프로그램 Maple12을 이용하여 Whitcomb Integral Supercritical Airfoil의 형상을 수정하여 구할 수 있다. 초임계 익형 주위의 유동을 2D압축성 유동으로 가정하고 EDISON CFD의 2D_Comp-2.0 솔버를 사용하여 수치해석을 수행하였다.

  • 본 연구에서 전산유체해석 프로그램인 EDISON_CFD를 이용하여 차세대 항공기 날개 형상으로 각광받고 있는 초음속 비행조건을 갖는 Busemann 형식의 복엽기 형상에 대한 공력특성을 연구하였다. 날개는 압축성 조건에서 2차원 에어포일로 간략화 하여 모델링하였으며, 마하수에 따라 발생하는 충격파와 팽창파의 상호작용을 통한 소닉붐의 감소 형태를 분석해 보고, 마하수에 따른 항력계수를 얻어내었으며, 익형과 항력계수, 소닉붐의 상관관계를 분석하여 초음속항공기에서 복엽기 형상이 가지는 장단점에 대하여 연구하였다.

Conceptual Design Study of Two-Stage Hypersonic Scramjet Vehicle (2단 초음속 스크램제트 비행체의 개념설계 연구)

  • In this study, two-stage hypersonic scramjet vehicle was designed for the flight condition of Mach number 6. In order to launch at sea level, two stage concept was applied. The first stage of the vehicle is solid rocket-powered and is mounted under the second stage. The second stage is powered by scramjet propulsion system and gas wings. The suggested mission scenario is to deliver 0.2 ton payload to the range of 2,000 km. For the first step of conceptual design, trajectory of air vehicle was calculated by 3-DOF trajectory code. Based on the result of trajectory code, scramjet engine design and mass estimation were performed by non-equilibrium nozzle flow code and NASA's HASA model, respectively. In order to find best solution, all steps of designing process was iterated until they was reached.

  • A numerical investigation of stage separation behavior of a two-body vehicle focusing on its flow characteristics is carried out. For this simulation, the separation of a booster from a vehicle is modeled using a chimera grid system and calculated with commercial code, $CFD-FASTRAN^{TM}$. Consideration of spring force, gravity and relative acceleration of a booster is the essential factor of a realistic simulation. In this study, it is validated that the booster separation time decreases with an increase in flight Mach number and angle of attack. In view of results thus far achieved, it is expected that the dynamics modeling and boundary condition set-up applied in this study will be useful for estimating safe stage separation and event sequencing of flight tests.

  • 램제트는 다른 여러 추진시스템에 비하여 획기적으로 증가된 사거리를 가지므로 가용범위의 확대는 물론, 목표물 타격 시 높은 명중률과 낮은 격추율을 가지는 효과적인 추진 시스템이다. 램제트 엔진을 장착한 미사일로는 프랑스의 Griffon, ASMP, 미국의 Bomarc, Talos, 영국의 Bloodhound, Sea dart, 소련의 SA4, SA6 등을 비롯하여 많은 종류가 개발되어 실전 배치되었다. 근래 들어 램제트는 군사전략과 전술적인 목적 이외에도 민간용으로도 그 실용성이 강조되고 있어 그 중요성은 날로 더할 것으로 예측된다. 램제트는 일반적인 공기흡입식 엔진과는 달리 엔진 내부에 기계적으로 구동되는 부분이 없이 충격파를 통과하면서 공기의 압력이 높아지는 현상인 램압축 현상을 이용하여 공기를 압축하게 되므로 엔진의 구조가 간단하고, 상대적으로 높은 비추력과 추력/중량비를 가진다. 램제트는 정지 상태에서는 작동되지 않으며 사용 가능한 최소의 압력비를 줄 수 있는 비행 마하수에 도달해야 램제트가 작동하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 비행속도를 줄 수 있는 별도의 추진장치가 필요하게 되는데 이와 같은 보조 추진장치로 부스터를 사용한다. 부스터가 엔진의 내부에 장착된 램제트를 일제형 램제트 (IRR: integral Rocket Ramjet)라 부르며, 현대의 전략미사일과 민간용 초음속 항공기의 엔진에 도입되어 활발한 연구가 진행 중이다. 램압력을 이용하여 압축하므로 램제트의 설계시 설계점 비행 속도에서 전압력 손실이 최소가 되도록 설계되어야 하며, 이를 실험이나 수치해석을 통해 확인하여야 한다.

  • A unified numerical analysis including combustion was conducted in order to study on performance of ramjet propulsion. The geometry of concern includes the entire flow path of a ramjet extending from intake to exhaust nozzle. Acceleration mode and cruise mode were considered in several equivalence ratios. Pressure distributions, terminal shock train range at the intake, temperature distributions in the combustors, and fuel mass fraction at the nozzle exit were investigated for each flight mode.
