Reliability Evaluation for Prediction of Concrete Compressive Strength through Impact Resonance Method and Ultra Pulse Velocity Method (충격공진법과 초음파속도법을 통한 콘크리트 압축강도 예측의 신뢰성 평가)

  • Non-destructive testing (NDT) methods are widely used in the construction industry to diagnose the defects/strength of the concrete structure. However, it has been reported that the results obtained from NDT are having low reliability. In order to resolve this issue, four kinds of NDT test (ultrasonic velocity measurements by P-wave and S-wave and the impact resonance methods by longitudinal vibration and deformation vibration) were carried out on 180 concrete cylinders made with two kinds of mix proportions. The reliability of the NDT results was analyzed and compared through the measurement of the actual compressive strength of the concrete cylinders. The statistical analysis of the results was revealed that the ultrasonic velocity method by S-wave is having lowest coefficient of variation and also most capable of stable observation. Analytical equations were established to estimate the compressive strength of the concrete from the obtained NDT results by relating the actual compressive strength. Moreover the equation established by the ultrasonic velocity method by S-wave had the highest coefficient of determination. Further studies on the stability of non-destructive testing depending on various mixing conditions will be necessary in the future.

  • 유도초음파를 이용하면 배관 및 박판과 같은 파유도체에 대한 광범위한 비파괴탐상을 할 수 있게되어 시간과 경비를 절약할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그래서 유도초음파를 이해하고 활용하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 유도초음파가 기존의 체적 초음파와 크게 다른 점은 분산성있어 초음파의 전파속도가 진동수와 파유도체의 두께에 의존한다는 것과 전파 특성이 다른 무한개의 모드가 존재한다는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 박판과 배관에서의 유도초음파를 이해하고 비파괴탐상에 적용하기 위해 필요한 모드의 분산과 선택 그리고 확인에 대해 이론적인 결과와 및 실험적인 예를 제시하여 그 개념을 소개하였다.

  • 현재 개발 중에 있는 비파괴 검사법인 Tapping Sound Analysis 의 실험적 검증을 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 손상이 없는 복합재료 구조물과 손상이 있는 복합재료 구조물에 대한 타격 실험을 통해 타격음과 타격력을 측정하여 비교하였다. Wavelet packet transform에 근거한 특성 추출법을 이용하여 타격음으로부터 손상 판단을 위한 특성을 추출하였다. 손상이 없는 구조물과 손상이 있는 구조물의 특성을 비교하기 위해, 특성 지수를 정의하였다. 정의된 특성 지수를 이용하여 손상이 없는 구조물과 손상이 있는 구조물의 타격음의 차이를 하나의 실수로 표현하였다.

  • This study made member specimen for taking specimen, core with the concrete mixing normal concrete, admixture and conducted the same air curing as field conditions. After performing destructive and nondestructive test by age, estimate expression was suggested by analyzing correlations between compressive strength, rebound number and ultrasonic pulse velocity and the results are as follows. As a result of comparing error rate of existing expressions and this estimation expression, error rate of this estimation is reduced compared to existing expressions and has higher reliability. When conventional concrete expression is applied to admixture concrete, error rate occurs and then this study suggests the estimation expressions depending on types of admixture concrete.

  • This study has investigated the optimization of NDT method and the minimum detectable defect size for complex structures such as the solid propellant rocket motor using real time X-ray imaging system. Test specimens were made of steel plates with various defect size, and installed with proper thickness for which solid propellant, rubber, and case converted to the steel equivalent thickness according to the radiographic equivalent theory. As the results, this examination obtained optimum magnification and X-ray energy, dose rate according to steel equivalent thickness, also, obtained the relationship between minimum detectable defect size and the ratio(defect depot/object thickness). Thus, this simulated test is the preliminary procedure before performing NDT for real objects, and is possibly applied for NDT of other complex structures.

  • The purpose of this study is to describe the Non-Destructive Testing(NDT) of the rockbolt and investigate the applicability of the NDT methods to estimate the integrity of the rockbolt. To examine the rockbolt integrity including rockbolt itself and grouting material, two methods are adopted: numerical and experimental methods. In the numerical method, the numerical code DISPERSE is used to analyze the dispersion of the rockbolt. The dispersion curve shows the effects of the thickness and stiffness of grouted materials on the embedded rockbolt. Therefore, the optimal frequency for the integrity test of the rockbolt is obtained: 20~120kHz in L(1,0) mode. In the experimental methods, destructive and non-destructive tests are carried out in a laboratory. In the non-destructive test, the low frequency mode generated by an impact and t he high frequency mode generated by an ultrasonic transducer seem to characterize the rockbolt condition readily. The experimental results show that the guided waves attenuate more significantly when the stiffness of the grouted material increases and/or the zone of the defect increases. Meanwhile, the ultimate capacity of rockbolt was evaluated through the pull-out tests and is compared to the NDT results. This study demonstrates that the NDT is a valuable tool for the rockbolt integrity evaluation.

  • 본 논문에서는 비파괴 검사를 통하여 얻은 세라믹 영상에 퍼지 기법과 ART2 기법을 적용하여 결함을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 세라믹 소재로 얻어진 영상에서 결함의 구간을 설정하기 위해 퍼지 스트레칭 기법을 적용하여 명암도를 대비시킨다. 명암 대비가 강조된 영상에서 퍼지 이진화 기법을 적용한 후, 상/하 경계선에 가장 많이 분포된 곳을 Max, Min으로 설정하고, Max+20, Min-20을 결함 구간으로 설정한다. 설정한 결함 구간 내의 비파괴 세라믹 영상에서 ART2 알고리즘 기법을 적용하여 세라믹 영상의 결함을 검출한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법을 비파괴 세라믹 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 세라믹 결함 검출 방법보다 비파괴 세라믹 영상에서 다양한 형태의 결함이 검출되는 것을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 세라믹을 비파괴 검사하여 얻어진 영상에서 세라믹의 결함을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 비파괴 검사를 통하여 얻어진 영상의 윤곽선을 추출하기 위하여 Prewitt 마스크를 적용한다. 그리고 비파괴 검사 영상의 잡음 비율을 최소화하기 위해 결함이 겹쳐진 윤곽선을 기준으로 감마 처리를 수행하고 임계치 이진화 기법을 적용하여 구간별로 결함을 검출한다. 구간별 결함을 통합하여 결함을 검출한다. 검출한 결함에 Grassfire 기법을 적용하여 미세한 잡음을 제거한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 비파괴 검사에 적용되는 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 결함 검출 방법보다 결함 검출에 있어서 효과적인 것을 확인하였다.
