Design Wave Period Estimation Using the Wave Height Information (파고 정보를 이용한 설계주기 추정)

  • The wave height and period regression curve is widely used to estimate the design wave period. In this study, the parameters of the curves are estimated, compared, and evaluated using the linear, robust linear, and nonlinear regression methods, respectively. The data used in the design wave height estimation are the annual maxima (AM) wave height and period data sets divided by typhoon and non-typhoon conditions, provided by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (2019). The estimation parameters show significant differences in the local coastal waters and the estimation methods. The estimation parameters based on the Suh et al. (2008, 2010) method show the apparent bias, under-estimation in the intercept (scale) parameter, and over-estimation in the slope (exponent) parameter, respectively.

  • This paper presents a direct nonlinear multivariable self-tuning PID controller using neural network which adapts to the changing parameters of the nonlinear multivariable system with noises and time delays. The nonlinear multivariable system is divided linear part and nonlinear part. The linear controller are used the self-tuning PID controller that can combine the simple structure of a PID controllers with the characteristics of a self-tuning controller, which can adapt to changes in the environment. The linear controller parameters are obtained by the recursive least square. And the nonlinear controller parameters are achieved the through the Back-propagation neural network. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the computer simulation results are presented to adapt the nonlinear multivariable system with noises and time delays and with changed system parameter after a constant time. The proposed PID type nonlinear multivariable self-tuning method using neural network is effective compared with the conventional direct multivariable adaptive controller using neural network.

Efficient Localization Algorithm for Non-Linear Least Square Estimation (비선형적 최소제곱법을 위한 효율적인 위치추정기법)

  • This paper presents the study of the efficient localization algorithm for non-linear least square estimation. Although non-linear least square(NLS) estimation algorithms are more accurate algorithms than linear least square(LLS) estimation, NLS algorithms have more computation loads because of iterations. This study proposed the efficient algorithm which reduced complexity for small accuracy loss in NLS estimation. Simulation results show the accuracy and complexity of the localization system compared to the proposed algorithm and conventional schemes.

불규칙한 관측주기를 갖는 지하수자료를 이용한 지하수위 변동의 시계열 분석

  • 장기간 관측된 지하수위 자료를 시계열분석 중의 하나인 전이함수 모형(Transfer Function - Noise model)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 일반적으로 전이함수 모형은 입력 변수와 출력변수와의 관계가 선형적일 때 적용이 가능하며, 자료가 시간에 대해 연속적으로 존재해야 하는 제한이 있다. 강수량과 지하수위의 변동은 비선형적인 관계를 가지고 있어 이러한 전이함수 모형을 직접 적용하는데는 어려움이 있다. 이러한 비선형성의 정도를 감소시키기 위해 물리모형(HYDRUS)을 이용하여 침투량을 계산하고 이를 입력변수로 사용하여 전이함수 모형을 적용하였다. 침투량을 입력변수로 모형을 추정하였을 때, 강수량을 직접 입력자료로 사용했을 경우보다 ME(mean error), RMSE(root-mean-squre error), MAE(mean absolute error)에서 상대적으로 작은 값을 보여주고 있다. TFN 모형의 모수를 추정하기 위해서 Kalman 필터 알고리즘과 최우추정법(Maximum Likelihood Estimation)을 이용하였다. Kalman 필터 알고리즘을 이용하여 불규칙한 관측주기를 갖는 시계열이나 결측값이 있는 시계열에 대해서도 전이함수 모형을 구하였으며, 이를 통해 결측값에 대한 추정이 가능하였다.

  • We can sometimes find instability against numerical solutions in nonlinear regression. All iterative procedures in nonlinear regression require initial parameter values to be selected. Poor starting values may result in convergence to an unwanted stationary point of the error sum of squares surface. Starting values can sometimes cause the chaos effect in the nonlinear regression model. We can find the chaos phenomena with the convergence plot of starting values in the parameter space.

  • In this thesis, to compensate the sweep nonlinearity occurring in the high resolution radar system using FMICW or FMCW, the method of the estimation of the nonlinearity is proposed. The nonlinear phase component caused by the nonlinear characteristic of the radar system is modelled as a linear combination of the sinusoidal functions consisting of various magnitudes and phases(systematic nonlinear phase error) and a random component(stochastic nonlinear phase error). From two IF signals that are measured respectively independently for two reference point targets lying in different distances which are known, a sparse linear equation is made and solved by least squares method to estimate the nonlinear phase component. The estimated component can be used for predistortion method to compensate the sweep nonlinearity.

  • In this paper, the states and the parameters in the dynamic system are simultaneously estimated by applying the UKF(Unscented Kalman Filter), which is widely used for estimating the state of non-linear systems. Estimating the parameter is very important in various fields, such as system control, modeling, analysis of performance, and prediction. Most of the dynamic systems which are dealt with in engineering have non-linearity as well as some noise. Therefore, the parameter estimation is difficult. This paper estimates the states and the parameters applying to the UKF, which is a non-linear filter and has strong noise. The augmented equation is used by including the addition of the parameter factors to the original state equation of the system. Moreover, it is simulated by applying to a 2-DOF(Degree of Freedom) dynamic system composed of the pendulum and the slide. The measurement noise of the dynamic equation is assumed to be a Gaussian distribution. As the simulation results show, the proposed parameter estimation performs better than the LSM(Least Square Method). Furthermore, the estimation errors and convergence time are within three percent and 0.1 second, respectively. Consequentially, the UKF is able to estimate the system states and the parameters for the system, despite having measurement data with noise.

  • This papers describes a nonlinear transfer function modelling of designed GaAs FET power amplifier by measured and simulated values of designed PA amplifier for multi­carrier transmission system, With the results of PA nonlinearity characteristic, we can estimates AM­AM and AM­PM of designed PA. According to the estimated nonlinear characteristics, we can analysis the ACPR of PA for spectral regrowth, the error vector measurement(EVM) of constallation signals and bit error rate of QPSK and 64­QAM. The suggested nonlinear modelling results are used to get an accurate estimate of digital characteristics between PA amplifier and wireless multi­carrier transmission system using OFDM.
