OWL OS(운영 및 제어시스템) 개발

  • 우주물체 전자광학 감시체계(OWL: Optical Wide-field Patrol)는 전세계에 5개의 50cm급 자동 망원경과 1개의 2m급 망원경을 설치하여 인공위성의 궤도 정보를 얻는 시스템이다. 이 시스템을 운영하게 될 소프트웨어는 크게 두 부분으로 나누어지는데, 해외 원격지에 설치되는 관측소의 50cm급 망원경의 마운트와 검출기, 돔, 기상 측기, 전원 제어 장치를 통합하여 무인으로 관측을 수행하고 그 결과를 본부에 보고하며, 각 시스템을 안전하게 보호하는 기능을 갖는 SOS(Site Operating System)와, 스케줄러에 의하여 각 관측소에 필요한 관측 일정을 작성하여 전달하고 관측소의 운영 현황을 모니터링 하는 NOS(Network Operating System)로 구성된다. OWL OS를 위하여, 시스템을 전반적으로 운영하는 운영 시나리오를 설계하였으며, 이 시나리오에는 기상조건 악화와 장비 오류 등의 경우에 시스템을 보호하고 상황을 즉시 보고하는 비상사태 대처 방안을 포함하였다. 이러한 운영의 모든 단계에서 주기적 또는 필요시 로그 기록이 남도록 하였으며, 이 로그 기록을 바탕으로 사용자가 원할 때에 본부에서 운영상황을 요약하여 보여주는 각종 통계 자료를 작성하여 확인할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • An Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a small gas turbine engine that is mounted on an aircraft and serves to supply energy for ground and air starting of the main engine. APU also supplies emergency and auxiliary power for the aircraft. APU for aircraft is simple and compact in structure, but because it is mounted on manned aircraft, high reliability is required, so it must be proved its reliability through qualification procedure. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Hanwha Techwin successfully completed the design / analysis, fabrication, assembly, development test and certification test of APU for helicopter based on accumulated domestic R & D capability and experience from 2007 to 2012. In this paper, the development and certification process of auxiliary power unit for helicopter is summarized.

  • 본 논문에서는 부하평준화를 통한 전기요금 절감효과, 무효전력 보상을 통한 역률 개선 및 비상부하 전원공급을 위한 독립운전 기능을 갖는 MW급 ESS에서 PCS뿐 아니라 배터리, 변압기, 각종부하 및 디젤발전기 등 계통 내 구성 요소들을 실제 사양 및 데이터를 기반으로 모델링하였다. 또한 1MW PCS를 위한 유 무효전력, CC-CV 충전 및 독립운전 제어알고리즘을 개발하였으며 시뮬레이션 및 축소시험을 통해 본 논문의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Wireless emergency call switch used in industry, the most important thing is the sustainable power supply. This paper describes the development and performance test results of a compact electromagnetic energy harvesting mechanism for batteryless wireless switch. This paper summarizes proposed structure design and magnetic field analysis results of the mechanism to generate an induced electromotive force using 2mm stroke of a single push action. This analysis results show the power output of the proposed mechanism up to VDC $4.5V{\pm}25%$ and it can hold up to 65ms of the power generation with greater than 2.5V.

  • This paper presents the power control for the hybrid electric propulsion system. In this paper, the hybrid propulsion system consists cf the generator and battery as power supply system in ship. The hybrid control system is designed with energy saving algorithm for decreasing the power consumption of power supply system. This paper suggests the method to increase efficiency of hybrid electric propulsion system by developing battery charging system. The performance of power control system is analyzed with the experiment equipment for hybrid propulsion system, and the results showed a good property.

  • After the Fukushima nuclear accident, a new power supply using a lithium polymer battery has been proposed the first time in the world as the safety of the emergency battery facility has been required. It is required to have the safety of the rack system in which the battery device is installed in order to apply the proposed technology to the field. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of string and rack frame for lithium-polymer battery devices developed for the first time in the world to satisfy 72 hours capacity. (1) The natural frequency of the unit rack system was 9 Hz, and the natural frequency before and after the earthquake load did not change. This means that the connection between members is secured against the design earthquake load. (2) he vibration reduction effect by string design was about 20%. (3) As a result of the seismic performance test under OBE and SSE conditions, the rack frame system was confirmed to be safe. Therefore, the proposed rack system can be applied to the nuclear power plant because the rack system has been verified structural safety to the required seismic forces.

  • Thanks to the developments of IT technologies, such critical infrastructures as fundamental structures of energies, material circulations, monetary circulations, and living necessaries are intertwined as well as mutually dependent. In this respect, the fact that national infrastructures are closely related to IT infrastructures implies not only expected benefits to provide diverse information-based services, but also anticipated costs to bring about new dangers. However, in spite of these threats, traditional researchers have not put enough interests in these indirect danger, which yield the damages in broad areas through paralyzing risk management systems, although they have investigated such direct threats as nuclear accidents, conflagrations, traffic troubles, and gasoline accidents. Considering that the tendency to depend on electricity, so-called electrification, which is caused by automation and informationalization, is intensified in all parts of society, the breakout problem as a factor to inhibit securities in information-oriented society is significant. Thus, the problems of large-scale power blackout should be treated as national crises. Also, preparation systems for large-scale power blackout have to be provided quickly. In this paper, with analyzing various cases of large-scale power blackout and investigation the causes of them, researches on the blackout management systems of Korea are to be present, on the basis of national crisis management states which are comprised of protection (mitigating and preparing), responding, and recovering(rewarding).

Analysis of Inundation Characteristics for EAP of Highway in Urban Stream - Dongbu Highway in Jungrang Stream - (도시하천도로의 EAP수립을 위한 침수특성분석 - 중랑천 동부간선도로를 중심으로 -)

  • An hydraulic and hydrologic analysis procedure was proposed to reduce the inundation damage of highway in urban stream, that could contribute the EAP and Traffic control planning of Dongbu highway in the Jungrang stream basin which is one of the representative urban area in Korea. We performed the HEC-HMS runoff analysis, and the UNET unsteady flow modeling to decide the inundation reaches and their characteristics. The high inundation risk areas were of Emoon railway bridge and the Wollueng bridge, which are inundated in the case of 10 year and 20 year frequency flood respectively. We also analyze the inundation characteristics under the various conditions of the accumulation rainfall and the duration. Flood elevation at the Wolgye-1 bridge exceed over Risk Flood Water Level(EL.17.84 m) when the accumulation rainfall is over 250 mm and shorter duration than 7 hr. When neglecting backwater effect from the Han river, inundation risk are highly at the reach C2(Wolgye-1 br. ${\sim}$Jungrang br., left bank), C1(Wolgye-1 br. ${\sim}$Jungrang br., right bank), D(Jungrang br. ${\sim}$Gunja br.) in order, but when consider the effect, the inundation risk are higher than the others at the reach D2(Jungrang br. ${\sim}$Gunja br., left bank) and E(Gunja br. ${\sim}$Yongbi br.), which are located downstream near confluence.

Designs for Self-enforcing International Environmental Coordination (원유공급 위기의 경제적 효과에 관한 연구)

  • Using the CGE model, this paper investigates economic impacts of a shortage in crude oil resulting from voluntary export restraints, OPEC's agreement of a cut in oil production, and/or a storing on speculation. Unlike most previous studies considering oil price as the unpredictable variable, this study constructs the model to determine the oil price endogenously under the condition of an insufficient supply of crude oil. According to IEA's extraordinary steps for a shortage of crude oil, we investigate an economic impact of 7~12% shortage below the level of business as usual. The results show that oil price soars by 17.3~33.5%, the rate of economic growth falls by 0.52~0.96%p, and the consumer price index(CPI) rises by 0.8~1.51%p. These results imply that increasing in 1%p of oil price results in decreasing in 0.03%p of economic growth and increasing in 0.045%p of consumer price index. The production of electricity declines because of the increase in production cost. A shortage of crude oil has an effect on sources of electricity. Most reduction in electricity generation occurs from the reduction in the thermal power generation which is highly dependent on crude oil. The shortage of crude oil causes demand for petroleum to significantly decline but demand for coal and heat to increase because of the substitution effect with petroleum. Demand for gas rise in the first year but falls from the second year.

  • In this paper, the research on the energy storage system adapting super-capacitor has been performed. The most advanced features compared to the conventional lead-acid battery systems is that it can obtain high power capability due to the super capacitor power characteristics. The suggested system can attain high power in short times and achieve high power quality improvements. The application areas are power quality improvement system, motor start power which requires high power during transient times. The energy conversion system consists of bi-directional converter and inverter and advantages of high speed, high power charging and discharging performances. The design steps for the two loop controller of the bi-directional inverter are suggested and verified by the experiment and manufacturing. The two loop controller design starts from linearized transfer function which is calculated from the state averaging model including state decoupling method. The current controller requirements are 20% overshoot and settling time and voltage controller are no overshoot and settling time which is 10 times longer than current controller. The design is verified from the step input response. The designed controllers have unity power factor characteristics and thus can improve the power quality of the grid. It also has fast response time and zero steady state error.
