  • Biometrics is a study of identifying individual by using the features of human body. It has been studied for an alternative or complementary method for the classical method based on password, ID card, etc. In comparison with the fingerprint, iris, ear, palmprint, finger-knuckle print has been recently studied. This paper proposes an effective method for recognizing finger-knuckle print based on the feature of Gradient orientation. The main features of finger-knuckle print are the size and direction of winkles. In order to extract these features stably, we make a feature vector consisted of Gradient orientations after the preprocessing of enhancing non-uniform brightness and low contrast. Total 790 images acquired from 158 persons have been used at the experiment for evaluating the performance of the proposed method. The experimental results show the recognition rate of 99.69% and the relatively high decidability index of 1.882. These results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in recognizing finger-knuckle print.

  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified. • Lockscreen is one of the most frequently encountered interfaces by smartphone users. Although users perform unlocking actions every day, there are no benefits in using lockscreens apart from security and authentication purposes. In this paper, we replace the traditional lockscreen with an application that analyzes facial expressions in order to collect facial expression data and provide real-time feedback to users. To evaluate this concept, we have implemented Quantified Lockscreen application, supporting the following contributions of this paper: 1) an unobtrusive interface for collecting facial expression data and evaluating emotional patterns, 2) an improvement in accuracy of facial expression detection through a personalized machine learning process, and 3) an enhancement of the validity of emotion data through bidirectional, multi-channel and multi-input methodology.

  • This study provides two channel structure and two factor authentication. First, a purchasing request by Internet and then user certification and a settlement approval process by mobile communication. Second, it support that proposal protocol utilize a partial factor value of stored in users smartcard, smart phone and password of certificate. Third, storage stability is improved because certificate store in smartcard. Finally, proposal protocol satisfy confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non- repudiation on required E-commerce guideline. In comparative analysis, Efficiency of the proposal protocol with the existing system was not significantly different. But, In terms of safety for a variety of threats to prove more secure than the existing system was confirmed.

  • In this thesis, an automatic door lock system using a dual tone multiple frequency(DTMF) signal generated as pushing the key button of mobile phone is proposed and implemented. This system consists of a transmitter module and a receiver module for processing the DTMF signal of mobile phone. The DTMF signal of mobile phone connected with ear-phone jack enter into the input terminal of DTMF receiver and those are encoded by a code-converter with 4-bits binary format in the DTMF receiver. The encoded output signals are transmitted to the amplitude shift keying(ASK) modulator of transmitter module and the modulated ASK signals which are converted into radio frequency(RF) signals propagate in a free space. The RF signals passed through a free space are demodulated by the ASK demodulator of receiver module and the demodulated ASK signals are sent to a micro-controller unit(MCU). The output signals processed by the MCU are compared with the secreted identification number which is prerecorded in a microprocessor and are transferred to a power relay. If the result is the same, the automatic door lock system opens a door. In the opposite case, it maintains closing the door. The implemented automatic door lock system operates well in mobile environments.

  • This paper provides an integrated framework for biometric data and private information protection in TeleHealth. Biometric technology is indispensable in providing identification and convenience in the TeleHealth environment. Once biometric information is exposed to mallicious attacker, he will suffer great loss from the illegferuse of his biometric data by someone else because of difficulty of change not like ID and password. We have to buil by someone esystem data bon the integrated framework for biometric data and private information protection in TeleHealth. First, we consider the structure of the biometric system and the security requirements of y someone esystem data bon the biometrics. And then, we define the TeleHealth system model and provide the vulnerabilities and countermeasures of the biometric-data by someone eintegrated model.byhe TeleHealth sse bec requires two-phata authentication for countermeasure. Finally, we made some functionferrequirements for main componenets of biometric-data bintegrated TeleHealth system framework to protect biometric data.

  • According to the rapid development of information and communication, various services are offered using information and communication infrastructure for example e-commerce, internet banking stork dealings, etc. This time, the most important problem is personal identification. But now secret number that is used to personal identification mostly can be misappropriated. To solve this problem, this paper proposes smart card identification system using 1 vs. 1 fingerprint matching. Information protection and security of smart card excel and use is convenient. And fingerprint becomes the focus of public attention in biometric field. Implemented system in this paper is based on PC. This system stores minutia that is fingerprint information into smart card and compare it with personal minutia. Therefore this system is sure to be on personal identification. If this system is applied to various services, safety degree of services will be enhanced.

  • As user of mobile device increases, various user authentication methods are actively researched. The user authentication methods includes a method of using a user ID and a password, a method of using user biometric feature, a method of using location based, and a method of authenticating secondary authentication such as OTP(One Time Password) method is used. In this paper, we propose a user system which improves the problem of existing authentication method and encryption can proceed in a way that user desires. The proposed authentication system is composed of an authentication factor collection module that collects authentication factors using a mobile device, a security key generation module that generates a security key by combining the collected authentication factors, and a module that performs authentication using the generated security key module.

  • As the life which existed only offline has changed into a life part of which is led online, it is an important problem to identify whether an online user is legitimate one or not. Biometric authentication technology was developed to identify the user more correctly either online or in offline daily life. Biometric authentication is a technology where a person is identified by his or her unique characteristics, and is highlighted as a next-generation authentication technology replacing password. There are various kinds of traits unique to each individual, and biometric authentication technologies drawing on such traits use various devices and algorithms. Firstly, this paper classified such various biometric authentication technologies, and analyzed the effects of them when they are applied on smartphone, smartwatch and M2M of the different devices platforms. Secondly, it suggested the effectiveness-based AIB(Authentication for Integrated Biometrics) authentication technique, a comprehensive authentication technique, which can be used in different devices platforms. We have successfully included the establishment scheme of the effectiveness authentication using biometrics.

  • As cloud computing is activated, a variety of cloud services are being distributed. However, to use each different cloud service, you must perform a individual user authentication process to service. Therefore, not only the procedure is cumbersome but also due to repeated authentication process performance, it can cause password exposure or database overload that needs to have user's authentication information each cloud server. Moreover, there is high probability of security problem that being occurred by phishing attacks that result from different authentication schemes and input scheme for each service. Thus, when you want to use a variety of cloud service, we proposed OpenID based user authentication scheme that can be applied to a multi-cloud environment by the trusted user's verify ID provider.
