  • 스팸 메일의 정의와 피해 현황을 살펴보고, 스팸 메일의 제도적ㆍ기술적인 규제 방법을 알아본다. 기술적인 규제 방법은 메일 클라이언트/서버 차원의 스팸 방지 방법, ASRG에서 제안한 메일 프로토콜과 헤더를 이용한 스팸 규제 방법, 온라인 우표제를 통한 스팸 규제 방법이 있다. 살펴본 규제 방법들을 분류해보고, 결론과 향후 연구 과제를 제시한다.

A Study on the Cipher JPEG Imag (JPEG 암호화에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, Internet is getting more popular and the usage of multimedia contents is getting more increased. Among the multimedia contents, the JPEG format is the most commonly used Image data format but the JPEG format doesn't supply cryptographic methods and access control. In this paper, a cryptographic method for cipher JPEG Image is proposed. This method can supply encryption and decryption using several algorithms such as DES to the JPEG Image data. Huffman table, which is the most important data area for JPEG data coding, is chosen as the coding data. Each method is compared to select the optimal cryptographic method in a certain environment.

Smart Design for App (스마트한 앱 설계방법)

  • The paper describes the efficient and agile design methodology for the smart phone application, so called the App. Despite the number of smart phones as well as their applications is rapidly being increased recently, the smart and easy methodology for App development is not well developed and not matured in use yet. Since the App is converted to programs or contents from the new ideas, especially, it is important to design and implement the App rapidly and systematically. In order to resolve this problem, we adopt the UI centered approach first of all, emphasizing user-efficient utilization of applications. And we also try to build the whole process in streamlined procedure, making each step reasonable, and the input and output for the step well organized. The design methodology described here is evaluated by designing popular sample application, Scheduler, and also compared with some well-known software design methodologies.

The Prediction of Currency Crises through Artificial Neural Network (인공신경망을 이용한 경제 위기 예측)

  • This study examines the causes of the Asian exchange rate crisis and compares it to the European Monetary System crisis. In 1997, emerging countries in Asia experienced financial crises. Previously in 1992, currencies in the European Monetary System had undergone the same experience. This was followed by Mexico in 1994. The objective of this paper lies in the generation of useful insights from these crises. This research presents a comparison of South Korea, United Kingdom and Mexico, and then compares three different models for prediction. Previous studies of economic crisis focused largely on the manual construction of causal models using linear techniques. However, the weakness of such models stems from the prevalence of nonlinear factors in reality. This paper uses a structural equation model to analyze the causes, followed by a neural network model to circumvent the linear model's weaknesses. The models are examined in the context of predicting exchange rates In this paper, data were quarterly ones, and Consumer Price Index, Gross Domestic Product, Interest Rate, Stock Index, Current Account, Foreign Reserves were independent variables for the prediction. However, time periods of each country's data are different. Lisrel is an emerging method and as such requires a fresh approach to financial crisis prediction model design, along with the flexibility to accommodate unexpected change. This paper indicates the neural network model has the greater prediction performance in Korea, Mexico, and United Kingdom. However, in Korea, the multiple regression shows the better performance. In Mexico, the multiple regression is almost indifferent to the Lisrel. Although Lisrel doesn't show the significant performance, the refined model is expected to show the better result. The structural model in this paper should contain the psychological factor and other invisible areas in the future work. The reason of the low hit ratio is that the alternative model in this paper uses only the financial market data. Thus, we cannot consider the other important part. Korea's hit ratio is lower than that of United Kingdom. So, there must be the other construct that affects the financial market. So does Mexico. However, the United Kingdom's financial market is more influenced and explained by the financial factors than Korea and Mexico.

A Critical Review of Research on the Economic Valuation of Libraries (도서관 경제성 평가 연구의 비평적 분석)

  • The value of the library has always been recognized positively. Economic valuation of libraries and their services uses a concrete methodology that enables the quantification of library value and communication of said value among library stakeholders. This paper presents a comprehensive review of literature on economic valuation of the library based on a total of 89 studies conducted over the last quarter-century. Research on library valuation began in the mid-1990's with the formal exploration of the value of public libraries from a theoretical point of view. In the 2000's, various theories and methodologies were reviewed and put into actual measurement studies. The comprehensive review and analysis point to the need for the development of consistent and reliable set of methods, which will facilitate further application of methods and comparison of results.

  • 본고에서는 탈추격형 연구방법을 정립하는 데 중요한 요소가 되는 R&D 전주기 프로세서를 제안하였다. 이를 위해 연구방법의 개념 정립에 필요한 R&D 관련 기본 개념들과 과거 추격형 R&D의 연구방법론으로 활용되었던 시스템 개발 프로세스를 소개하였다. 향후 새롭게 정립되어야 할 탈추격형 R&D의 개념을 정의하고 그 특성으로써 기술의 아이디어 생성부터 시장에서 활용되는 기술 수명 전주기에 걸쳐 프로세스 활동을 정립하였다. 또한 연구개발 기획 시부터 산업화에 이르는 R&D 전주기 프로세스에서 강점과 약점을 비교하여 탈추격형 R&D에서 특히 보강되어야 할 주요 활동과 프로세스를 구성하는 각 단계에서의 수행해야 할 주요 활동을 제시하였다. 이를 통하여 탈추격형 R&D를 실행하기 위한 연구방법으로써 적용할 수 있는 연구방법론의 기반을 마련하였다.

  • Quality assurance (QA) for nuclear R&D project is very concerned about the poor economy due to the improper selection of QA requirements. This paper proposes a new methodology for determining the relative importance weights of QA requirements considering the attributes of nuclear R&D project. QFD (Quality Function Deployment) is used as a conceptual framework and fuzzy number is introduced to capture the vagueness uncertainty existing in human judgement. Also we use a confidence attitude of decision-maker in order to improve the reliability of extracted attribute level of R&D project. Case study on a nuclear R&D project and scenario analysis are carried out to verify the usefulness and effectiveness of proposed methodology.

  • These days, along with the information society, the value of information has emerged as a powerful factor for a company's development and sustainability, and therefore, the importance of the Information Security and Management System (ISMS) has emerged and become an integral part of all areas of business. In this paper, ISMS evaluation methods from around the world are compared and analyzed with the standards of various management guidelines, definitions, management of threats and vulnerability, approaches to result calculations, and the evaluation calculation indexes for domestic to propose the best method to evaluate the Information Security Management System that will fit the domestic environment.

  • This article compares two different auction designs for $CO_2$ emission allowances, namely uniform pricing and multiple pricing, in view of market efficiency. Experimental economic method of Buckley et al. (2004) is applied in this analysis. As a result of this analysis as expected, multiple pricing method brings out Winner's curse. It means that uniform pricing method is more efficient than multiple pricing method.
