비전도 반평판 사이에서 미끄럼 운동하는 평판 층의 열탄성 불안정성 (Thermoelastic Instability of the Layer Sliding between Two Non-conducting Half-planes)

  • Frictional heating in brakes causes thermoelastic distortion of the contacting bodies and hence affects the contact pressure distribution. The resulting thermo-mechanical coupling can cause thermoelastic instability (TEI) if the sliding speed is sufficiently high, leading to non-uniform heating called hot spots and low frequency vibration known as hot judder. The vibration of brakes to the known phenomenon of frictionally-excited thermoelastic instability is estimated studying the interface temperature and pressure evolution with time. A simple model has been considered where a layer with half-thickness ${\alpha}$ slides with speed V between two half-planes which are rigid and non-conducting. The advantage of this properly simple model permits us to deduce analytically the critical conditions for the onset of instability, which is the relation between the critical speed and the growth rate of the interface temperature and pressure. Symmetrical component of pressure and temperature distribution at the layer interfaces can be more unstable than antisymmetrical component. As the thickness ${\alpha}$ reduces, the system becomes more apt to thermoelastic instability. Moreover, the evolution of the system beyond the critical conditions has shown that even if low frequency perturbations are associated with low critical speed, it might be less critical than high frequency perturbations if the working sliding speed is much larger than the actual critical speed of the system.

  • The phenomenon of squeal noise in the disk brake system has been, and still is, a. problem for the automotive industry. Extensive research has been carried out in an attempt to understand the mechanism that causes squeal noise and In developing design procedures to reduce squeal noise to make vehicles more comfortable. In this paper, the study on the analysis of squeal noise is performed by using computer aided engineering to design the anti-squeal noise disk brake system. The first part describes the chassis dynamometer and the testing procedure, and second part explains the finite element model and the complex eigenvalue analysis. Finally, it is shown that the proposed squeal noise analysis could be useful to investigate the design parameters that affect the squeal noise characteristics.

소음지도 작성 시의 Schall03에 의한 철도소음 예측결과 분석 (Analysis of the railway noise prediction result using Schall03 in noise mapping)

  • 철도소음지도는 환경부 고시 소음 진동관리법에 따라서 그 작성방법이 고시되어 있고, 소음지도 작성 시에 철도소음원 관련 영향인자에 대하여 적용 예측식 별 열차구분을 제시하고 있으며, 열차 특성 입력 시에 브레이크 흡음율을 "0"으로 설정할 것을 제시한다. 소음지도 작성방법이 고시 된 이후 국내의 고속철도차량은 그 구조가 변경되어 가고 있고, 고시된 작성방법에서 제시되지 않은 신규 열차유형도 생겨나고 있다. 따라서 현재의 시점에서 국외의 철도소음 예측식을 활용하여 고시된 소음지도 작성방법에 의하여 철도소음을 예측하는 경우 열차의 유형과 관련된 입력인자에 따른 예측결과를 검토할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 철도소음을 예측할 시에 국내에서 통상적으로 가장 빈번히 사용되는 Schall03을 활용하여 철도소음을 예측하였으며, 열차의 유형 선택, 열차의 특성 중 디스크브레이크 사용율 입력, 레일의 이음매 여부에 의한 예측결과에의 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 2013년 이후 추가된 신규 국내의 열차에 대하여 대응하는 국외 열차의 유형을 검토하였고, 디스크브레이크사용율 설정은 실측값과 예측값의 차이에 적지 않은 비중을 차지함을 파악할 수 있었으며, 이뿐 아니라, 레일표면의 조도(roughness)레벨 수준도 함께 고찰하고자 하였다. 또한 레일의 이음매가 존재하는 구간에 대하여 예측 시에 이를 고려하지 않았을 경우에의 실측값과의 차이에 대한 분석을 수행하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the improvement method for the failure examples including the vehicle brake system in actual field. It was verified that the indicator plate of pad wear scratched the brake disk because of wearing after displacement of non- identification parts pad. The caliper of other vehicle was installed with brake system verified the phenomenon produced groove in center point because of one side wear when the pad was not fully contacted with the rub disk by other action surface pressure and pad action condition. It verified that the crack phenomenon fatigue was produced by brake thermal deformation because of decreasing the thickness by grinding to modify the non-uniformed wear of brake disk. It verified that the friction sound was produced by the friction phenomenon because of non-uniformed contact of lining and an alien substance with inner of the drum and lining braking by crack phenomenon with brake drum surface.

6 MW급 해상풍력발전기용 고속축커플링 개발 (Development of High-speed Shaft Coupling for 6 MW Class Offshore Wind Turbine)

  • High-speed shaft coupling in a wind power system transmits power and absorbs variations in length and spindle dislocation between the gearbox and generator. Furthermore, the coupling has an insulation function that prevents electrical corrosion caused by the flow of the generator's current into the gearbox and prevents overload resulting from sudden power failure from being transferred to the gearbox. Its design, functions, and part verification are described in the IEC61400 and GL Guidelines, which specify that the part must have a durability life of 20 years or longer under distance variation and axial misalignment between the gearbox and the generator. This study presents the design of a high-speed coupling through composite stiffness calculation, structural analysis, and comparative analysis of test and theory to identify the characteristics of high-speed coupling for a large-capacity 6 MW wind power generator. A prototype was fabricated by optimizing the manufacturing process for each part based on the design, and the reliability of the fabricated prototype was verified by evaluating the performance of the target quantitative evaluation items.

자동차 제어장치의 져더 진동 측정 및 진단 방법 (Test and Diagnostics Methods for Judder Vibration of the Brake System)

  • 디스크 두께 변화(DTV)에 의해 야기되는 져더현상은 일반적으로 차체진동, 브레이크 페달 떨림, 그리고 스티어링 휠의 떨림에 의해 감지된다. 이번 연구에서는, 차수분석 및 Operational Vibration Analysis(OVA)를 통해 차체진동이 DTV profile에 의해 어떻게 영향을 받는지를 중점적으로 조사하였다. 진동 측정위치는 knuckle, lower arm, lower arm 연결 차체부위이고, 져더 발생 DTV profile도 실측하였다. 시험 분석 결과, DTV는 져더현상에 차수별 상대적인 방향 기여도를 나타내며 특히 디스크 회전 2차 성분은 차량진행 방향으로의 lower arm 진동을 현저하게 야기시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 시험 및 분석 기술은 져더 현상을 진단하고 문제를 개선하는데 유효하리라고 예측된다.

시간평균 ESPI를 이용한 디스크 브레이크의 진동 모드 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vibration mode Shape Measurement of Disk brake by Using Time-Averaged ESPI)

  • Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) is a powerful tool to measure the vibration mode shape and resonance frequency for modal analysis. As for ESPI this method is very suited for full-field measurement of objects in industrial areas because the interferograms are recorded with a video camera and evaluated in real-time with a computer. In this study We performed experiments at the same constraint conditions as disk brake of the practical vehicle as far as possible and obtained the resonance frequencies and vibration mode shapes by using time-averaged ESPI at once. Finally to assure the expetimental results by time-averaged ESPI we also compare those with results obtained by Laser Doppler Vibrometer and obtained good agreement.

  • A coupled thermal-mechanical analysis has been presented for the thermal distortions of the ventilated disk brakes during IS braking operations. The FEM results show that the bendings and distortions of the disk toward the left side are decreased, but the sinusoidal distortion of the disk rubbing surface along the arc length of the vent hole is highly increased by increasing the convective air cooling effects, which is heavily related to the squeal, wear and micro-thermal crackings at the rubbing surfaces due to uneven dissipation rates of friction heatings.

통기식 디스크 브레이크의 방열 성능에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study of Thermal Performance in Ventilated Disk Brake)

  • Disk brake system transforms a large amount of kinetic energy to thermal energy in a short time. As the size and speed of automotive increases in recent years, the disk brakes absorbs more thermal energy. And this thermal energy can cause an unacceptable braking performance due to the high transient temperature, that is attained at the friction surface of brake disk and pad. Although these high temperatures are one of the biggest problems. In this study, the overall thermal behavior of ventilated disk brake system was investigated by numerical method. The 3-Dimensional unsteady model was simulated by using a general purpose software package “FLUENT” to obtain the temperature distributions of disk and pad. The model includes the more realistic braking method, which repeats braking and release. The effects of several parameters such as the repeated braking, inlet air velocity and thermal conductivity on the temperature distribution were investigated.
