  • Self-congruency plays an important role in the context of mothers' shopping for children's clothing because purchasers are inconsistent with users. This study incorporates three dimensions of self-congruencies (congruency between children's image perceived by their mothers and brand image, congruency between mothers' actual self-image and brand image, and congruency between mothers' ideal self-image and brand image) due to purchaser-user inconsistency in children's clothing consumption. A total of 574 mothers with children aged 6 to 10 participated in a web-based survey. Descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Self-brand image congruency variables have a different influence on brand attitudes when mothers purchase children's clothing. Brand attitude is influenced positively only when the perceived children's image coincides with brand image and when mothers' ideal self-image corresponds to brand image. In contrast, mothers' actual self-image and brand image congruence negatively influence brand attitude. Further investigation indicates that there are different effects of dimensions of self-congruency on brand attitude according to the characteristics of mothers and their children. This study suggests that when there is purchaser-user inconsistency, different types of image congruence has to be implemented to assess the impact on brand attitudes.

  • The trend in which an apartment is regarded as not only a substantial property or 'residence' but also as a 'means of self-expression' for consumers is increasing in the present housing marketing, and thus, the apartment brand image has become an important field of marketing management. Therefore, the present study aimed to verify the difference between the image of a housing brand and the self-image of consumers in order to propose a singular direction of strategies for the formation of a differentiated brand image. As a result of research, analysis showed that there is a trend in which consumers show a more positive attitude towards a brand apartment that has a brand image closer to an ideal selfimage. Even if this trend is weak, it was confirmed that the consentaneity between a brand image and the self-image of housing products can become a variable having some influence on brand attitude. The survey method compared a brand image and a self-image by using Likert's 5-point scale on the apartment brands of the top three companies according to the study result of a national brand competitiveness index (NBCI). Self-consentaneity was determined by using the distance measurement model of self-consentaneity proposed by Sirgy (1982). The study data was collected from 210 persons and the PASW program was used for statistical data analysis.

In particular, several Chinese firms such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo show a rapid growth in the pace of Chinese market, whereas other leading players like Apple and Samsung has slowly grown in China market. Therefore, this study will investigate the main antecedents of repurchase intention of smart phones in post-90th generation in China. In addition to this, the mediating effect of SIC will be analyzed. The results of the study are as follows; first, there is significant relationships among brand, individual experience and repurchase intention, on the other hand, there is no significant relationships between design, price, function factor and repurchase intention; second, SIC partially mediate the relationship between brand factors and repurchase intention. Based on the results targeted to post 90th generation in China, several implications are suggested for smart phone firms.

Also, the congruency of parent brand image with self-image and brand loyalty of the parent brand had a positive effect on the attitude towards the extended product, whereas brand involvement had a negative mediating effect on the attitude towards the extended product in fashion brand extension. The results of this study provide some useful suggestions to marketers in fashion industry: marketers should consider some psychological aspects of consumers such as congruency of parent brand image with self-image, brand loyalty, and brand involvement when conducting brand extension.

  • Luxury goods products have a steady stream of consumers, and the latest trend is the sell and purchase markets. The consumers age groups also vary widely. This research examined the mediating effect of self-construal of the relationship between brand consistency and intention to purchase luxury fashion products. The analysis classified the brand consistency of luxury fashion products as social, actual, and the deal. First, the order of consistency that had an effect on self-construal appeared in the order of social cohesion, actual coincidence, and ideal coincidence. Second, an analysis of mediating effect of self-construal showed that only self-construal appeared to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between the intention to purchase and the actual and ideal consistency. Such result can be interpreted as that when purchasing luxury fashion products, consumers have a tendency to desire that the brand would express their personal image and that it would match the perception they had of the brand, rather than a tendency to perceive the brand as a tool to help them perform their desired social role. These results suggest that consumers who consume the brand desire to have their personalities and subjective environmental conditions well expressed.

  • This is a basic research aimed at enhancing a brand image by unifying color images of a brand at both online and offline stores. h survey was conducted on color images of online and offline stores to measure the level of consistency between consumers' perception of the color image and the brand's color strategy. A brand preference survey was also performed to shed light on the relationship between the brand preference and the consistency of color images at online and offline stores. This study is committed to building an effective color strategy, based on the brand strategy, through web color planning that is consistent with the offline color image. This paper started with a specific purpose of devising solutions in regard to the prior study, entitled 'Study on Color Strategies in Brand Coffee', which recognizes the need for consistent color images, or integrated color strategies, in online and offline stores. I specifically took the approach of looking at color planning in the stage of designing a website. Two standards were used to analyze emotional and functional aspects of color images: color grading by I.R.I and five communicators of color information by Rouge. Direct visits were made to the offline stores for surveys to address the shortcomings of the prior study, in which offline stimuli were limited to printed materials. The direct visits enabled a study of an overall color image of the offline stores, while providing a set of substantial and specific guidelines for designing colors for a website. I hope this study goes a long way toward enhancing the level of consistency between online and offline color images based on the brand's unique color strategy, and thereby improving the overall level of brand image.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine effectiveness of congruence between brand image and advertisement model on fashion advertisement effect. 206 female college students were surveyed for this study. For this study, three hypothesis were set up as follows: First, if fashion brand image and advertisement model image are in congruence, consumers' product preference would be higher, compared to in disharmony. Second, if fashion brand image and advertisement model image are in congruence, consumers' advertisement attitudes would be higher, compared to in disharmony. Third, if fashion brand image and advertisement model image are in congruence, consumers' purchasing intention would be higher, compared to in disharmony. As the results, three all hypothesis were accepted. Based on these results, fashion marketing strategies regarding advertisement would be suggested.

  • In this research, through experiments, we show that incongruity of color between mediums has positive influence on brand attitude in terms of integrated management of brand. We also present that self-image congruence of 'brand-consumer' has moderating effect on such influence of color incongruity. Mediums were limited to the ones that magnifying visual influence in order only to observe influence of color. With the same reason, visual factors other than color were coherently set or held constant and we chose brands with either low familarity or no previous knowledge. As a result, we find that brand attitude by the incongruity of color between mediums was higher compared to brand attitude by the congruence of color. In case with lower self-image congruence of brand-consumer we show higher change in attitude compared to the one with higher self-image congruence of brand-consumer. We believe our findings are interesting to note that brand may be enhanced by forming positive brand attitude through brand expression i.e., color of visual factors. In addition, we suggest that level of congruence and diversity of brand expression is in fact deeper or wider than that of brand manager's intuition. We see that it is possible for studying brands the incongruity which has been studied as a strategy to reposition mature brands can be a way of improving the recognition on new brands.

  • This study investigates whether the image of the casual Hanbok brand is being communicated to consumers successfully. We conducted a semantic network analysis to identify ways of revitalizing communication between casual Hanbok brands and consumers; in addition, we quantitatively evaluated the effectiveness of communication marketing through Quadratic Assignment Procedure (QAP) analysis. Unstructured data from 2014-2021 were collected through portal sites and then refined and networked. Our analysis showed that casual Hanbok brands generally target younger people and that different brands employ similar methods to promote and popularize the casual Hanbok style. Consumers tended to recognize and show interest in casual Hanbok, suggesting the potential to expand the market to Blue Ocean. However, some of our findings revealed the potential factors of style coordination risk and prejudice against existing Hanbok, which could potentially hinder casual Hanbok's uptake and adoption. We conclude that increasing the demand for casual Hanbok depends not only on delivering an accurate brand image to consumers but also on balancing fashion with traditional images when planning products and providing styling information.
