A slender guideway is essential in improving aesthetically and reducing its construction cost which accounts for about 70% of overall investment for maglev system. As the slender guideway, however, may increase its deformation, its effect on levitation stability and guidance performance needs to be analyzed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect on guidance characteristics of maglev due to the lateral deformation of the guideway girder and lateral irregularity of guiderail. For doing this, 3D model considering lateral deformation of girder and irregularity of rail of the guideway is developed. Using the dynamic interaction model integrated with the proposed guideway and maglev vehicle including electromagnetics and its controller, guidance characteristics of maglev are analyzed. It is analyzed that the effect on lateral deformation of girder is relatively small compared to deformation on the lateral irregularities of guiderail.
The purpose of this study is to adopt qualitative research methods for alpine snowboard athlete to analyze their injury factors in depth from a psychological perspective. Therefore, in-depth interviews were conducted on four outstanding Alpine Snowboard athlete, and the results were as follows. Among the factors of the injury of Alpine snowboard athlete, the psychological point of view was derived from five factors: 'Trait Anxiety', 'Personality Characteristic', 'Expectancies of Significant Others, 'Discrepancy between ability and expectation' and 'Trauma Injuries'. The five psychological injury factors have expressed the raw data of the subject in a case-oriented manner, and empirical and field-oriented interview data will enable in-depth analysis of psychological factors related to injury to future Alpine snowboard athlete and coaches. It is expected to be used as a basis for injury prevention and countermeasures. All data can be used as a basis for positive effects on the quality of life of athletes and athletes in winter sports.

In a magnetic train set composed of more than two cars, the installation of dampers between cars is carefully considered for improving both the ride quality and the safety, particularly during curve negotiation. In this study, a dynamic simulation of the ride quality and curve negotiation of a Maglev vehicle was carried out. The dynamic model is developed based on multibody dynamics. The presented full vehicle multibody dynamic model integrates the electromagnet model and its control algorithm. By using this model, the effects of the dampers are numerically analyzed. The proposed damper is installed on the vehicle and tested to analyze its effects. In this study, the simulation and measured results of the vehicle behavior and ride quality are discussed.

In this paper, a new modeling method of a magnetic levitation(Maglev) system using extreme learning machine(ELM) is proposed. The linearized methods using Taylor Series expansion has been used for modeling of a Maglev system. However, the numerical method has some drawbacks when dealing with the components with high nonlinearity of a Maglev system. To overcome this problem, we propose a new modeling method of the Maglev system with electro magnetic suspension, which is based on ELM with fast learning time than conventional neural networks. In the proposed method, the initial input weights and hidden biases of the method are usually randomly chosen, and the output weights are analytically determined by using Moore-Penrose generalized inverse. matrix Experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve better performance for modeling of Maglev system than the previous numerical method.

Pneumatic levitation is based upon Bernoulli's principle. However, this method is known to require a large gas flow rate that can lead to an increase in the cost of products. In this case, the gas flow rate should be increased, and the compressible effects of the gas may be of practical importance. In the present study, a computational fluid dynamics method has been used to obtain insights into Bernoulli levitation flows. Three-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations in combination with the SST k-${\omega}$ turbulence model were solved using a fully implicit finite volume scheme. The gas flow rate, workpiece diameter, and clearance gap between the workpiece and the circular cylinder were varied to investigate the flow characteristics inside. It is known that there is an optimal clearance gap for the lifting force and that increasing the supply gas flow rate results in a larger lifting force.

Maglev is a system that a train runs levitated above a rail. Therefore it is very important to maintain a constant levitation gap for achieving serviceability and ride comfort. This study is a cooperation research subject of the 3-1 subject, performance improvement of maglev track structures, of the Center for Urban Maglev Program in Korea, started in 2006. The aim of this study is development of rapid constructions of bridge superstructure for maglev. At present, precast deck is widely used because of its superiority to cast-in-place concrete on quality and the term of works. The research group suggested basic systems of maglev guideway with PSC-U type and trapezoidal open steel box type girder, and precast deck, cooperating with Korea Railroad Research Institute, the managing institute of the 3-1 subject. In this study, full-scale structure was fabricated for structural safety evaluation of precast decks and rail, and a static performance test of those structures was performed.

Autoignition characteristic is an important parameter for designing diesel or PCCI engines. In particular, diesel spray flames are lifted from the nozzle and the initial flame is formed by an autoignition phenomenon. The lifted nature of diesel spray flames influences soot formation, since air will be entrained into the spray core by the entrainment of air between the nozzle region and the lifted flame base. The objective of the present study was to identify the effect of heat loss on the ignition delay time by adopting a coflow jet as a model problem. Methane ($CH_4$), ethylene ($C_2H_4$), ethane ($C_2H_6$), propene ($C_3H_6$), propane ($C_3H_8$), and normal butane (n-$C_4H_{10}$) fuels were injected into high temperature air, and the liftoff height was measured experimentally. As the result, a correlation was determined between the liftoff height of the autoignited lifted flame and the ignition delay time considering the heat loss to the atmosphere.

The purpose of the present study is to examine the dynamic interaction characteristics between moving maglev vehicle and guideway bridge system. For this purpose, the dynamic governing equation of 2-dof maglev vehicle using optimal feedback control scheme of LQG was derived with or without consideration of the dynamic interaction between vehicle and guideway bridge system. From the parametric study, it was found that the dynamic interaction effect between bridge and vehicle was large in case of neglecting the railway roughness effect. But if the railway roughness effect was considered, it was observed two analysis results with or without consideration of the dynamic interaction did not show big difference. As a conclusion, it is required to take into account the dynamic interaction effect of bridge and maglev vehicle and the railway roughness for precise evaluation of runnability of maglev vehicle and impact factor of guideway.

The characteristics of lifted laminar propane flames diluted with nitrogen have been investigated experimentally to elucidate self-excitation and the effects of flame curvature. Flame oscillation modes are classified as follows: oscillation induced by heat loss, a combination of oscillations induced by heat loss and buoyancy, and a combination of the oscillations induced by heat loss and diffusive thermal instability. It is shown that the oscillation induced only by heat loss is not relevant to the diffusive thermal instability and hydrodynamic instability caused by buoyancy; this oscillation is observed under all lift-off flame conditions irrespective of the fuel Lewis number. These experimental evidences are displayed through the analysis of the power spectrum for the temporal variation of lift-off height. The possible mechanism of the oscillation induced by heat loss is also discussed.
A numerical analysis of reactive flow in a liftoff flame is accomplished to elucidate the characteristics of liftoff flame. To verify reliance of numerical calculation, the liftoff heights of liftoff flame for various fuel exit velocities are compared between the existing experimental research results and the present calculation results. The flame propagation velocity is conducted at the flow redirection point which is on a stoichiometric line ahead of flame front. This point was selected constant distance from triple point regardless of fuel exit velocity at the previous research. This causes considerable errors for the flame propagation velocity and scalar dissipation rate. The main issue of the present research is to establish the resonable method to select the redirection point and so that to clarify the relationship between flame propagation velocity and scalar dissipation rate, which is the core properties in a triple flame stability.
